  Is the format of the file. WMV or. WLMP?

  WMV is a film format and should play in Windows Media Player
  or most any other multimedia player.

  WLMP is a Windows Live Movie Maker project file and is useful
  in WLMM and all the original sources files must also be available.

  If you have a WLMP file... Go back to your Win7 machine and save
  as a WMV movie file.

When I select 16:9 in the edition, it places an another black bars up and down the sides and the ruins of the entire video.   OK, I'll try to uninstall / reinstall again (did not the first time), but when I went in the box to add / remove programs again once, I noticed the option repair, so I tried instead.  It worked!

  Hello!  I just create a movie using Windows Movie Maker (HP Pavilion dv6000/Windows Vista Home Premium).  During the PREVIEW, the first part of the video of my film sometimes will not play (view) while the audio continues.   Just a few ideas...

  It is possible that you have some compatibility issues with one or more of
  your source files.

  Several formats are apparently compatible with Movie Maker but the
  more reliable choices are:

  Photos - bmp
  Video - wmv or dv - avi
  Audio - wav, wma, wmv

  It may be worth trying to go to... Tools / Options / Compatibility tab and
  Uncheck all filters. If this does not help... try... Tools / Options /.
  Left and the Compatibility tab, click Restore all the default button.

  If you've spent 6 hours to create a Movie Maker project... it's more
  that probably too big or too complex for the resources of your system. Try to create
  several smaller projects and publish (save) in the. WMV
  film format. Then you can combine them into a single file for re-import
  WMV files collected, the drag in the timeline and publish them.
