Moving the file documents in Windows Mail email messages?

My system crashed. Fortunately, I had my files backed up using Norton 360. I restored files, except my emails and contacts restored to a file in the folder my documents. How can I move them to this folder in Windows Mail?

Just for the heck of it, try this. (This works for EML files).

Right-click on a backup message and drag it to an e-mail from the window folder and select copy here. If it appears, you know what to do. If not, someone else will have to help out you.

What version of Windows you want to transfer is irrelevant. What
you need to do is just transfer to another computer.

There are several approaches to do this. What is the best for you
based primarily on the amount of data you transfer. Here are a few
    choice:

    1. transfer on diskettes.
    2. transfer to CDR or DVD.
    3. by email from the old machine, and read e-mail on the new
    one.
    4. the two computers on the network and simply copy the files on the
    network.
    5. temporarily (or permanently) install the old computer's hard
drive in the new computer and just copy the top.
    6. use a USB

  • Why I can't make backups of my Vista Windows Mail email files?

During the 3 years, when do backups, I just copied my "documents" folder in which I put my Windows Mail email folder. Never had a problem. Recently the file My last Email/Local Folders now refuses to copy. Explorer Windows try to copy it and at first it seems to work but while it starts at about 10 MB/sec it soon drops hyperbolically to zero, but never really gets there so everything hangs up. On 15 September, I made my last successful backup intact but since then, everything I tried failed. At first, I thought that files may not copy, because they are 'read only' files but of course this isn't. The files I copied successfully in my backups in September that all show an attribute "read only".

I'm sure that this occurred shortly after a Windows Vista security 'upgrade', but after being in the security settings and change many of them I have no results.
I recently had to use Internet Explorer for Google chrome and I don't have a gmail account if Microsoft & Google are not cohabiting in my computer. I ran into conflicts between IE and Chrome, especially when you try to print the email and web pages through our wifi HP network printer. Now my wife can not print at all. What is a part of the problem?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

For the printer part, WinMail uses the print engine that it is uses, adjust if margins and other in Internet Explorer to print in WinMail.

But the inability to copy the files suggest hard disk problems.  Try opening Windows Explorer, right click on the C drive and go to properties. Tools | Check out now and see if it finds problems.  You can also use the attempt to Windows Explorer to access the folders and messages to make sure there is no problem with access (try to copy directories message individually and perhaps you can distinguish a problem).  You can also try compacting and repairing the database of WinMail to ensure that it is not the question, but I doubt that this would be the case.

  • cannot print the document from Windows Mail, get a script error

When I try to print an electronic document of Windows Mail, I get the following error message:

-An error has occurred in the script on this page

    -Line: 2115

    -Char: 1

-Error: unexpected call to method or property access

    -Code: 0

    -url://ieframe.dll/preview.js

    Hello

    1. are you able to print other documents?

2 have had any changes made to your computer before this problem?

Try the reinstatement of OLE controls to correct the above error.

Method 1: register the OLE control
    To do:
    1. click Start and type regsvr32 ole32.dll in the search field.
    2. press enter.

Check if this helps you to print from Windows Live Mail. This usually solves the problem. If you are still having the same problem, follow the remaining steps.

Method 2: disable the script debugger

    1. in the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    2. on the Advanced tab , click on to clear display of each box script error notification, and then click OK.

Method 3: Verify that Active Scripting, ActiveX, and Java are not blocked by Internet Explorer

Active scripting, ActiveX, and Java are all involved in shaping the way information displays on a Web page. If they are blocked on your computer, it can disrupt the display of the Web page. Reset the Internet Explorer security settings to ensure that they are not blocked. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. start Internet Explorer.
    2. on the Tools menu, click on Internet Options.
    3. in the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab.
    4. click on default.
    5. click on OK.

Note: ActiveX controls and Java programs are disabled in the high security level in Internet Explorer.

Try to open a Web page where you previously received a script error. If you do not receive the error, the problem is resolved. If the problem persists, go to method 4.

Method 4: remove all temporary files related to Internet

    1. start Internet Explorer.
    2. in the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    3. click on the general tab.
    4. under browsing history, click deleteand when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
    5. in the dialog box delete browsing history , under Temporary Internet files, click delete filesand when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
    6. under Cookies, click delete Cookies, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
    7. under history, click delete history, and when you are prompted, click Yes to confirm.
    8. click on closeand then click OK to close the Internet Options dialog box.

If all goes well, you should be able to print now.

  • by clicking on the http links in windows mail will open word instead of the browser

How can I replace a block if no information bar?

When I click on links HTTP in a Windows Mail message opens a Word document. Windows Mail help seems to indicate that the link is blocked because it may be phishing and that the solution is to click on the link and type unlock in the InfoBar. I don't see an information bar. It started recently, so I think that I have installed a phishing filter updated. Can I remove the offending filter or?

IE9 is blocking the information bar if you want to see it, and then open the message in a separate window and it will appear again or uninstall IE9.  As for opening Word instead of IE, go to the control panel. Default programs | Associate a file type or Protocol with a program, press page down to the HTTP and HTTPS protocols, and set IE as default.

  • Restore saved the Windows Mail Messages in the New Installation of Windows Mail

I found the following on this forum thread. Further to this review in the second paragraph, I was able to move a message to the empty folder. But I was unable to move the other messages in the folder. The files I tried to move appeared as attachments in a new message. The .eml files and not marked read-only. What should I try next?

    TIA,

    Michael R

Windows Mail does not dbx files.  Copy the store directory of all message on the desktop of the new machine.  Then right-click on the file and go to properties and make sure that they are not read-only.  Then go to file | Import | Messages in WinMail and choose the format from Windows Mail 7 and point to this directory.   See also here for general information: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm

If you can not always get messages in folders, you can create a new folder in WinMail and open it so that it displays a list of empty message.  Then, open up one of the subdirectories containing eml files in Explorer and drag an eml file on top of the list of message empty folder and drop and you will see it is embedded in the file.  Once you get a job, you can drag and drop all eml files at a time, as long as they are only the eml files.

I was able to transfer the former folders of the backup but when I go to import it recognizes not all files. I did a complete search on my C drive and nothing. How can I get these old records imported without this file?

    Thank you!

They are attachments because you drag another file in addition to the eml files.  When you select the eml files to ensure that they areonly the eml files and then it will work.

  • How can I change the file association in Windows XP

All my WORD documents and such are automatically saved in a WORDPAD document, how can I stop that?

While the file associations in windows do not address how a file should be opened,

It does not address how a file should be saved.

the method of saving in a program is controlled by this program.

Therefore, if you use word 2003, then you must change to save documents rtf to word documents.

try clicking on Word Tools Menu then Options file.

then under the tab backup, do not forget to select the right format for saving your documents, IE Word documents (* .docs).
