MS Clip Gallery 5.0 & recent updates

Suddenly, in the last 48-96 hours, the following error message appears when you try to access the clip gallery library in MS Publisher 98.  This message occurs on TWO different machines:
Clip Gallery
An unspecified error has occurred.  Clip Gallery could not complete the operation.  For more information, press F1 and see Troubleshooting in Clip Gallery Help.
Error code: 0 x 80070057
[OK]

the two machines are not networked and thus, no drives, directories, files, printers, or other devices are shared or accessed somehow.

After finding little in trying to google the problem, I discover that in the MS Clip Gallery Properties on the shortcut tab, there is a location in the 'target' box (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ARTGALRY\ARTGALRY. (EXE), but nothing in the "start in".  I tried to use the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ARTGALRY and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ARTGALRY\ARTGALRY. EXE in the box "start in"- neither worked.  I even tried clikking the button "Find target", who due to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ARTGALRY\CAG. EXE to stamp in the box "start in", but which does not work either.  I also double-clikked the artgalry.exe icon and the message "Clip Gallery is now configured to run on your computer" appears.

the only thing these two machines have in common are:
1. [the latter] MICROSOFT UPDATES:
a. Update for Publisher 2002 (KB2284692): MSPUB, installed on 12.15.10
b. Update for Office XP (KB2289162): GPFILT, installed on 12.15.10
2. the categories ONLY in Clip Gallery 5.0 index accessible are:
a. the DOWNLOADS category, which contains only "screen beans" that were downloaded over time on the MS site
b. a user added category that just happens to contain "screen beans" that were downloaded over time on the MS site

1. does anyone know update caused the problem?
2. how the problem can be corrected:
a. should the update be uninstalled?   or
b. be a fix "restore to" the problem?   or
will of c. the library clip gallery (and/or MS Pub) must re-installed?
d. other?

    I use matte track masking (blur of faces, license plates, etc.) for years. Usually, I duplicate a clip, throw the Gaussian, blur overlay cache track under that. I then animate the mask with keyframes. From this recent update, I am unable to do so. The mask does not move, regardless if I manually move on the screen itself, or use the values of positions. The Unsharp mask is smack dab in the middle. However, the contour orange (indicates the path animation, etc.) that is displayed around the mask moves. Basically, I'm able to do my work right away after this update. Help!

    Basically all I can do now is put a mask in the center of the image via the track matte... and that's it. Cannot move at all.

    I deleted all caches and previews and restarted the system several times.

    I tried this on different clips, with different sources.

    I tried different blur effects. Nothing works now.

    In the new sequence, just put the video on the track, then the matte (at 50% opacity) on the two track.

    No blur. Just move the matte.

    When you are finished with the movement, delete the layer video, all leaving the matte layer and make the mast 100% opacity.

    Take this sequence in the project Panel and use it as a clip on the right track three, on top of the video on the right track and the video blurry on the two track. Set the two track to use a matte and assign the three track.

    Edit: The new sequence gives you just a mate in movement. Two video layers as well as the sequence with the mast go on three tracks in a different order.

The only search that allows me to see whatever it is is Yahoo that I prefer not to use. In addition, I have to click through a series of tabs to make sure that I know that Yahoo does not feel that the site is secure before it connects. I must tell you that I have strongly dislikes this upgrade and want to return to the old Firefox.

    What is you receive the exact error message? Did you check your date and time? Refreshed Firefox? Refresh Firefox – reset the parameters and modules

    I have five or if email address. Before the recent update to Thunderbird they were all included in my Inbox as well as individually. Since the update, a day or two before, the Inbox includes only the first on the list and any other email illuminate their individual addresses. I would like to return to an all-inclusive Inbox for incoming emails.

    I waded in all elements of the toolbar and help online, nothing helps. I can just find a cure.

    I have 30 + our organized in thunderbird and I structured the list of accounts to get a quick overview of all accounts. the recent update to thunderbird things around substantially changed; now local folders are down on the list and imap accounts are on top. I can't find a way to change where to display the local folders; the add-on "Manually sort folders" does not help with the position of the files local vs other accounts.
    What Miss me? Any thoughts?

    I found the solution: the add-on "manually sort orders" has been altered after the Thunderbird upgraded. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it and the possibility of local folders on the top worked again.

  • Capacity lost to bookmark pages after recent updates

    Firefox has been working great until recent updates of the version 39.

    I have now lost my ability to bookmark a page. When I click on the star icon as I always got it, the Star turns bright blue and gives the appearance that the bookmark is transferred - or "thrown in"-the bookmark icon. But page never appears anywhere in my favorites.

    Before when I clicked on the star, I've always had a box that would allow me to change the name I wanted the bookmark for the name of the bookmark and the Bookmark menu different locations I could choose as to where I wanted to go. Now I don't get any box.

    I know this must be a consequence of the recent update changes and not something in my computer because I have never had this simulation to "launch" the bookmark before. Or the brilliant blue star.

    OK, try clicking on default settings, as shown - controls customize Firefox, buttons, and toolbars.

    If it doesn't it try Mode without failure of Firefox to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

    If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

      then select restart with disabled modules.

    If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
      (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

    When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

    If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

    To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

    Refresh for Firefox:

    1. Open the troubleshooting information page using one of the following methods:

  • If you are unable to access the Help menu, type Subject: support in your address bar to bring up the troubleshooting information page.
  • At the top right of the page, you should see a button that says 'Refresh Firefox' ('reset Firefox' in older versions of Firefox). Click on it.
  • Firefox closes. Once the update process is complete, Firefox will display a window with the imported information.
  • Click Finish and reopen Firefox.

    Updated my 4th gen AppleTV to the latest version yesterday and now apps recently updated are missing under purchases. I quit the app from the App Store and rebooted the device and he is still missing.

    I did have the opportunity to update my device, but noticed the same thing, so I don't think that's the problem but rather something at their end.

    I have automatic updates enabled. While on my user (without right of admin) account I received a notification that some updates cannot be installed automatically. The note gave options 'Install' and 'later '. I clicked on "install".

    Then, I wanted to check what had been installed. I went to my Admin account, AppStore launched, and click updates. Response was "there is no update available". Curiously AppStore did not display the usual list of "recent updates". So I couldn't find just, which had been installed. Or, for that matter, no trace of any software provided by Apple has recently been installed.

    Is there a way to check what software provided by Apple was recently installed on the computer by the Automatic Updates feature or manually?

    Your Mac keeps a record of each update or application (applications third too) installed. You can check by going to menu-> about this Mac-> system report...-> facilities Apple. (You can find facilities in the box on the left after pressing 'system report... »). Then, just sort by Date to install and check the updates installed on your computer.
