Multi-NAT

Hi all

I have a small business network with multiple systems on a local network.  I would like to expose two of these machines on the Internet with static IP provided by my ISP. Both of these machines offer web services via ports 80 and 443, and so port forwarding will not meet my needs.  The way I have addressed this issue in the past is to use a router with "multi-NAT" or "NAT-to-many" support. Alas, the router I was using no longer works, and the company no longer provides a similar offer. Speaking with the service the customer of CISCO today, they have suggested that one of the CISCO 800 series routers should respect my need.

So my questions are:

1 - is anyone out there using a router 800 series to face a similar scenario?

2. If so, is it possible to configure this scenario (e.g., Multi-nat) uses the Cisco Router Web Setup (CRTS) tool?  I'm not familiar with IOS and prefer to ignore the learning curve.

Thanks for your suggestions and advice.

Kay

Routers Cisco Small Business RV as RV042 RV082, RV016, RV120W and RV220W are supported a feature called NAT one by one, that supports your scenario. All routers may be managed by a Web GUI.

Here you can find the administration for these routers guides.

  • FVS336Gv3 multi-NAT inbound firewall rules does not

I have about 30 Netgear FVS338 and a few FVS336Gv2 routers in use. I use for firewall and provide multi-NAT between industrial machines and WAN. The configuration was changed on Gv3 models and I can't get an answer behind the firewall or router in the diagnostics page when you use the WAN address.

In the examples below the WAN is 10.62.

Figure 1. Two different devices with two different configuration options.

Figures 2 and 3. The first is bad - it would only connect from this address. Have I set up another correctly to the NAT WAN to LAN 10.3.110.215 address 10.62.31.55 address?

Q1: Is Figure 3 configured correctly?

Q2: Why is it forcing me to create a range of addresses? On the older routers, I had the opportunity to address.

Q3: Is anyone aware of any problem with this router?

For anyone having the same problem, the FVS336Gv3 requires the manual addition of each new address WAN-side. He is buried in the menu structure:

Figure 1. Network configuration | WAN settings | WAN configuration. WAN1 - Edit.

Figure 2. Select the secondary addresses.

Figure 3. Add the required WAN addresses.

Now configure the inbound firewall rules:

Figure 4. Security | Firewall rules. Add or change. Note that the WAN secondary addresses are available in the drop-down list address WAN IP.

    Password

There seems to be a problem with this router about the session timeout. I got them several times on the navigation menu and log on again and renavigate. Idle time-out is set to 90 minutes. I never saw this problem on routers earlier.

Also, note that the password field now has a limited character set. for example, it does not accept ' $'.

  • RV220W: Field of Destination Internet IPv4 firewall rule

    The manual States:

This gateway supports multi-NAT, and the Destination Internet IP address does not necessarily have to be the WAN address. On one WAN interface, multiple public IP addresses are supported. If your ISP assigns you more than one public IP address, one of them can be used as your main on the WAN port IP address and others can be assigned to servers on the LAN or DMZ. In this way, the LAN/DMZ server is accessible from the internet by its public IP address to aliased.

My IPS gives me 5 IP addresses (say x.y.z.1 - 5) I can use. My WAN interface has address x.y.x.1

So, I thoughtInternet Destination meant I can do rules like:

Allow SMTP and dispatch to destination of 192.168.1.a and internet internal address is x.y.z.2

So, I thought I could do multiple-NAT-transfer as in

    x.y.z.2:25-> 192.168.1.a:25

    x.y.z.3:80-> 192.168.1.b:80

But this seems not to work at all.

Have I misunderstood things here? CAN I have only my WAN IP port forwarding. If I want to use multiple servers inside I need to fully expose to the internet or they can do all their traffic through my WAN IP?

    If implemented correctly, from traffic

Via 1-to-1 NAT must be protected by a firewall similar to

traffic flowing through the WAN IP of the router port forwarding. Exposed to internet via the Port Forwarding and NAT 1 1 computers should be protected by the firewall's stateful packet inspection mechanism.

To use NAT 1 to 1, you would need multiple public addresses from your ISP.

  • Cisco ASA (8.3) - Packet trace / Multi context Classification

    Hello

I use packet - trace for a while on and outside, with mixed results.

I am running a firewall context multi with more than 10 of the same shared contexts outside the interface / network.

All interfaces have obviously valid and unique IPs and also the unique MAC addresses as automatic address mac is enabled in the system context.

It is an ASA 5550 running 8.3 (2.10) Provisional includes therefore the fix for the bug failed packet classification - draw well known.

So in theory, with firewall settings on a shared interface ASA must use the firewall MAC address to classify incoming traffic on the correct firewall and as far as I know, only retreating to use TAR to classify if the Mac of the interface are the same. Actually on my platform, appears not to be the case and the classifier uses NAT to determine the context of destination. I see this with live traffic (that is not generated by packet - trace) in newspapers and can prove it by disabling some NAT rules (there is some overlap with the IP address behind each firewall).

My question about packet trace is - in the scenario above with an external interface shared, tracer package uses not ALWAYS NAT to determine the context of destination? Or tracer packet search address MAC interface penetration depending on what context you run packet tracer of? It seems that packet - trace uses NAT in my case which could be just symptomatic of the potential bug I described above, rather than by design.

I searched the forums for an answer to this and have not found one - don't know if it will be a question for developers TAC?

    See you soon

    Paul

    Hi Paul,.

The packet - trace has no way to specify the MAC address of the simulated package, so it will always return a check of the NAT. It is currently a limiation of the feature of packet - trace in multiple context mode.

In addition, if your NAT rules contains the 'none' keyword of the pair of the interface, you should be aware of this bug:

CSCts07069 - ASA: packet classifier fails with "any" in the rule being NAT (fixed in 8.3.2.28)

    Hope that helps.

  • Strange problem in IPSec Tunnel - 8.4 NAT (2)

    Helloo all,.

This must be the strangest question I've seen since the year last on my ASA.

I have an ASA 5540, who runs the code of 8.4 (2) without any problem until I ran into this problem last week and I spent sleepless nights with no resolution! Then, take a deep breath and here is a brief description of my setup and the problem:

A Simple IPSEC tunnel between my 8.4 (2) ASA 5540 and a Juniper SSG 140 6.3.0r9.0 (road OS based VPN) screen

The tunnel rises without any problem but the ASA refused to encrypt the traffic but it decrypts with GLORY!

Here are a few outputs debug, see the output and a package tracer output that also has an explanation of my problem of NAT WEIRD:

my setup - (I won't get into the details of encryption tunnel as my tunnel negotiations are perfect and returns from the outset when the ASA is configured as response only)

If someone could help me, that would be greatt and greatly appreciated!

  • How can I change the base station Airport of NAT mode?

I'm trying to set up an Airport base station and stuck because I have the following message is displayed, but no idea how do what he asks...

Status is showing as Double NAT and then asking me to move on to the base station in bridge DHCP/NAT mode.

But where do I do this?

    Thank you

It can be difficult to get the router to bridge sometimes... but if all goes well... Click on the airport icon in airport utility and then click on edit.

Go to the network tab and change DHCP and NAT to bridge.

Click Update at the bottom of the page... Then, everything should be good.

If you are having problems follow these steps.

Reset factory airport and then do a manual installation. I recommend that you connect with ethernet which is much more reliable, but your MBPr is not the most important network port that exists... Although there is a bolt of lightning at low cost for the ethernet card.

  • The settings DHCP Airport extreme & NAT - cannot change default of NAT IPs?

    Hello

I'm trying to configure Airport extreme, the most convenient to use for our office.

    Our Office IP is 10.255.x.x

When I'm trying to Setup DHCP and NAT, in NAT options, there is only 10.0.x.x, 172.16.x.x and 192.168.x.x

How can I get NAT to have 10.255.x.x?

Without the NAT settings, I can not get this Airport Extreme to assign valid IP addresses and so unnecessary

Sorry, but Apple will only accept the 10.0.x.x addresses to be assigned by the AirPort Extreme.

You'll be amazed how much multi discs, I have...

    Any help appreciated

Let iTunes do file management and don't worry in this regard. Your only interaction with your files either through the iTunes interface, where questions of multi-disc are correctly identified.

  • NAT with Snow Leopard issue

For the poster who will say "Google is your friend", no it is not, or I wouldn't be here.

I tried for a while now to solve the only problem I have with Snow Leopard Server.

MySql has fallen lion and, apparently, no one knows how to use postgrl so I installed MySql and plundered with her for a few hours to get this working.  There were various other issues with Lion.  Finally, I went to Yosemite.  Hey Apple, where is the GUI?  Then at el Capitan and finally tried Sierra (no server app at all yet).

For me, each 'step-up' taking things and running weaker than the last.

Welcome to Snow Leopard.  I'll stick with it for a while to come.

The only problem I have with Snow Leopard, it's that when it restarts, the NAT will not start upward.  Other than that, it does a magnificent job to maintain my home network.  I searched high and low for an answer without success.  A few posters who have addressed this problem specifically here never got a response.

As this seems to be about three years or more, since this question was asked and it seems that some have migrated to the SLS, I was wondering if anyone has found a solution.

As it is now, as soon as there is a need to reboot, I just disable the NAT service, restart and turn it back on.  In the case of a failure of current (longer than the inverter can maintain) or just a random crash, I have to kill the firewall and NAT then the configuration of the gateway of new service that requires fixing the various omissions and errors and I'm good to go again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have posted in the forum of Snow Leopard Client.  I ask that to move this post.  In the meantime, you can see the various forums about this trick:

  • When Fire Fox support (again!) for display of multi column (and navagable) Favorites (bookmarks)?

I always use rev 31. This is the last version that is compatible with the add-in on, "Multicolumn Bookmarks 1.5', I have several brands of books collected over the years and the single column format is frustrating and not helpful."

Asked to provide a current version, which is compatible with "MultiColumn Bookmarks 1.5' Fire Fox, or provide a favorite navigable multi-column as option display in a near future program revision Fire Fox.»

    Sincerely,

    Pierre Arnold

    Sorry, to complete the thought:

    (1) install Stylish from the Mozilla Add-ons site

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/

    (2) then back to the user page of style to get the style (the button should be green instead of blue right here)

  • Firefox 36.0.1 causes InfoPath 2010 multi-line text boxes do not work - how to fix?

Since upgrading to Firefox 36.0.1, generated by InfoPath 2010/SharePoint 2010 multi-line text boxes is no longer move to the new lines when the text is entered. Like a lot of text is entered, the cursor remains on the first line.

36 Firefox in March in favor of the white space in < textarea > style property controls for the first time. So, if the control has a white-space: pre rule, then Firefox will wrap is no longer text in version 36 +.
