My extensions to start Incredibar

Like many others, I had terrible problems with this darn thing incredibar who has somehow put on my laptop. With other threads in the forums I managed to get Firefox to what I had originally, (remove webassistent, check everything: config etc...) but I still have a problem. When I search incredibar subject: config, I always get a bunch of results extensions.incredibar. I'm not very technical when it comes to these things, but is there anyway I can delete these or are they just leftovers that I better leave her alone? The extension of incredibar does not appear higher in the list on the tab of Firefox. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This should fully get rid of Incredibar. It is certainly one of those annoying and difficult to get rid of.

These extensions.incredibar results should be safe to remove. They are only active when the extension is installed. If it is uninstalled, these settings cannot affect anything. Also this kind of parameters being left behind all kinds of modules because it is not a way to auto remove these settings when an add-on is uninstalled. I hope this problem is resolved one day by the Firefox devs.

To clear these settings:

  • In the url bar, type Subject: config and press enter. If you see the "this might void your warranty!" caveat, just click the I'll be careful, I promise! button to continue.
  • In the search box, type extensions.incredibar . Right-click on each parameter that appears in the results below, and then choose reset. Will erase the settings of Firefox after you shutdown Firefox.
  • Alternatively, you can do nothing. They are just left the remains that do nothing.

    I assume you are using a B2B channel tuned to retrieve messages in a folder. Please check if this channel to listen is to have the parameter enable selected marker.

    Disabling the marker Enable should avoid generating the file start in the folder.

    You try to install an old or new Version of Super Start?
    On the web site of the developer, I read that older versions of Super Start will not work if you have the add-on "Tab Mix Plus" installed, even if the info was pretty obsolete - in my humble opinion.

    However I installed the latest version (found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/super-start/ ) on my Firefox v 38.0.5 and it works.

    This may be caused by the Tab Mix Plus extension

    I read people with this problem a year ago, attributed to the renamizer plugin. I have never used the plugin renamizer and na not see this behavior until I just upgraded to version 17?

    (BTW, what's with the influx of major version releases?) Don't you think most of them should be minor point releases, or even patch releases? I wrote s/w, mainly in assembler, C and C++ with some Java thrown when I can't talk the customer out of it. One thing I've learned, it's that when major version releases come out with fast turnaround dates, something is usually not in the management of the code base.     Don't bother with this one. The culprit is FoxLingo. If that is loaded, I get the connection... label on each tab. Turn it off and back to normal. I don't know if it will be sort of a bad interaction with another extension, or if it will happen again if I disable everything except FoxLingo, but it will be someone else's problem. I'll leave the FoxLingo Developer (s) know about it.

  • The extension manager crashes

    I use CS4 Design Premium and when I try to add an extension using the extension manager, it blocks.
    When I first noticed the problem that I could not even run the extension manager, it would break the launch. I went to ~\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Extension Manager2\Configuration\Extensions and moved all extensions to another folder. Then only the extensions manager would charge. I then added the Extensions one at a time, and now the extensions Manager load OK.

    But if I'm going to load a new Extension, it starts to load the extension and then crashes. I tried this with 2 new extensions WebAssist that I just got and an extension of JQuery_API, so I don't think it is specific to the extension.

    I'm on a MacBook Pro under OS x 10.5.6 and Creative Suite 4.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Well, it seems that Safari 4 is beta solves the problem. I would have guessed this earlier.

  • Removal of the extension

    Dear all,
    I hope someone can help me.

    I installed a few extensions for DW recently to try and you now want to remove the extensions. I open Macromedia Extension Manager, choose the extension, hit "Delete Extension" and this error:

    ' Internal error (please contact support). The extension will not be deleted.'

    This happens for the extensions good number of different authors. The extension is still visible in the extensions and also DW Manager.

    Is there a way I could delete these? If this isn't the case, I can see through me DW to uninstall and reinstall just to clear unwanted extensions.

    It is not a clear sign of the browser slows down. It does not seem to be limited to any Web site.

    Sometimes, this problem is caused by an add-on that begins interacting with the page after most loads content, so you don't notice the problem until you get the message. Can the extension Skype Click-to-Call cause this problem.

    In other cases, the problem may be caused by the content of the page.

    If you find any model of the script that runs slowly, say Firefox? Script names that start with chrome: / / or resource: / / address either parts of Firefox or an extension. Starting with http:// or https:// usually script names are part of the site you visit.

    Another good cause script errors is unresponsive on Windows Vista and newer is the feature of mode of the Flash player plugin. This feature has the security benefits, but it seems to have serious compatibility problems on some systems. You can disable it using the page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

    In the left column, click on Plugins. On the right side, find 'Shockwave Flash' and click on the link for more. Then uncheck the box for "Enable Adobe Flash protected mode" and try it for a day to see if that helps you.

    Yes, you can no longer do that in tools > Options > content.

    The parameter has been removed from the user interface, so you must check the related javascript.enable pref on the topic: config rather the page to ensure that it is set to true.

    You can also check your extensions:

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

    Update to the original problem:

    While operating in Mode safe, I disabled all my extensions. Starts normally, even with extensions disabled, would result in the crash described above.

    After restarting the computer, I tried to boot normally the FF. To my surprise FF started in normal mode, and all my extensions were always disabled. This allowed me to re-enable each extension one by one to try to identify what extension could be the cause of the plant. I was able to reactivate all the extensions without problems.

    I used FF normally with all the extensions enabled for two days without the crash. Although it pains me that I was not able to identify the cause, I am convinced that the problem is resolved.

  • Firefox uses an insane amout of memory?

    Firefox, even with only open Facebook, takes up at least 250 000-260 000 k of RAM.
    I disabled all my modules except Adblock and Xmarks, and only plugins running are things like flash and java. There are about 250, 000 k, even after rebooting.

    Its causing firefox to freeze and run really slow, even with only as... 3 tabs open. This is the gel as I type, with only this site and open Facebook. I have 4 GB of ram.

    Have you tried to disable all extensions or start Firefox in safe mode?

    Try creating a new profile as a test to check whether your profile is the source of the problems.

    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

    If the new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.
