My mouse keeps cursor reset its position - it is extremely annoying! Anyone know if there is a fix for this? I am using Vista home edition with a laptop.
I turned off the touchpad that I prefer to use a connected usb mouse but the problem persists. Its really annoying when you're gaming and the cursor suddenly resets position and you click on something totally inappropriate. Any help gratefully received.
Hello DaztheWanderer,
Have you tried another mouse or mouse mat? Looks like a hardware problem. Make it a great day!

Hello!
-A bit of background: the desktop PC that I use is Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, with active user accounts total five. I have my own account, and I can access the computer through (or through account from my brother, because I know its password).--
I had this problem recently came where the administrator password (that I know for a long time and never changed) no longer works. So, after some research, I created a reset password on a USB disk, that I found in my house. I managed to create the disc, but when I tried to put the new password, I got the message error "an error occurred while the wizard attempted to set the password for this user account', which I must say is not very clear. I found a few methods of force - reset the password for the account of the admin, as using a sort of Windows Vista DVD or go to Safe Mode to find the hidden administrator account... but I have no idea what this DVD is or where to find, and in Safe Mode, there is no account user administrator to be seen. I believe that my machine is corrupted, but I don't want to buy a new. I want just to reset a password...
Any help is appreciated. If I was not specific enough, I can specify in comments.
Thank you!
Hello
You must make a password reset disk before that there are problems with a password, not afterwards.

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.
- Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
- Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
- Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
- Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

Ideas: 2 Questions actually & I have Windows Vista Home Edition...:
(1) I begun to change some permissions under the Security tab of the properties, and now they are screwed... How can I reset just all permissions to the default settings? Help, please! Boy, I'm arrested for murder... My laptop about to be thrown through the window of a building-sky.
(2) is there a way to reset or restore my system? I don't like to lose anything it all. I saved what I want or need. I just want to start from scratch...
In fact, I have 1 other question... Whole reason I messed my permissions first is because I've had this laptop second hand and I did EVERYTHING to get rid of the old owners as a user name and I IMPOSSIBLE... It drives me crazy. I am the owner / administrator and there is no other user accounts, but still all my programs and files have this other names of people on them.

How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
Vista Home starts with black screen with blinking cursor
Hi, I have a toshiba satellite with Vista home, he stopped last Sunday, when I turn it on, start it start sbooting normally but then I get a black screen with cursor and is not go further. I tried last good known, tired, safe mode, I have same TOSHIBA recovery disk and does not either, when I boot from the CD, it seems that it is loading files, then the yellow bar on the work screen appears, but then I get the black screen with cursor, nothing after that.
I took out HD and a Sata drive via the usb port to connect to my HP laptop. I was able to open the F and G, but C drive (where the OS is installed which has changed the letter e) could not open, he told me I need to format it.
I have the original recovery disk for Toshiba, which works when the hard drive is not in the Toshiba, but when I put the hard drive back, I never the option where it asks me to repair or reinstall all.
is it possible that I can use my laptop HP after the toshiba drive connected via USB, to repair the toshiba C partition (which is called E)?
There are more than 2 weeks worth of work that are not backed up, and I wouldn't lose. Help, please.
Hi MB1969,
This seems like a hard disk failure. You must get in touch with Toshiba to get help.
I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 installed and much to my dismay found my Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 and Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 are not compatible with Windows 7. If no fix that means I have to start avery good keyboard and mouse I used comfortable for a long time.
When you try to load from the disk, the message informed me that it was not compatible and use the automated system to find a fix has not produced an answer. My keyboard and mouse are in great shape and it is not necessary for me to replace it with a new one from a material point of view.
The drivers for both devices on the drive that you are probably older versions, you should be able to download the latest drivers for Windows 7 in the pages below, you will need to choose which version of Windows 7, you are running, that is, 32-bit or 64-bit.
When I turn on the system of his displayiing on the moniter as NTLDR missing. Please give me the solution for this problem
Hello
NTLDR is not used for installation of Vista, it's a vestige of WinXP / 2K. If it is listed as "missing", then your boot sector is damaged and must be repaired. The steps are described here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/927392?p=1
Windows Vista Home Basic crashes to Blackscreen with mouse pointer
My hard drive crashed. Got a new Western Digital, installed Windows Vista again and everything was fine until that suddenly can't access Vista other than Safe Mode options. When I try to load windows 'normally', the screen goes black and I have a mobile mouse pointer but nothing else.
I searched and found people have encountered this problem, but it seems there are a lot of possible causes. I'm at my wits end with Vista. I use Vista Home Basic (32-bit) with SP1 is installed. Y at - it an easy solution to this problem with Vista? The upgrade to Windows 7 will answer my prayers?
I have a processor Core Duo 2.2 ghz with 4 GB of ram.
