my user account is 'administrator', but am still denied access to the file I want to access.
I click on certain folders or files to access and a window pops up saying: "access denied." Nevertheless, I have a user 'administrator' account, so why would I refused access? I'm really tired of Windows 7, doing so and would like a replacement that will allow me access to WHAT I want - after all, it's MY computer, not Microsoft!

Hello. I was change the permissions of users to some other accounts, and the only thing I can think is that I accidentally changed the permissions of the administrator account. I can no longer anything that requires access privileges and that you do not have any idea what to do to reinstall windows.
Thank youYour case might fall into two scenarios: either you are not able to log - on the administrative account at all or the other case would be that you are able to log-in on your administrator account, but when you try to access any file using this administrator account, and then you are given the message 'access denied '. Don't worry, if yours is the second case, you would be able to access all your files similar both before reinstalling Windows.
If the first case is true where you cannot connect to one of your account administrator, then you need to reinstall windows from scratch.
If the latter is true, when you are able to log-in to your administrator account, but you are denied permission to access this item, you can consult this section to take control of your PC files:
1.) move to the location where your files are stored on your PC that you are given the messsage like "Access Denied" year select any file folder orr.
2.) now, when right click that file, select Properties , then go to the Security tab, and then click the Advanced button in the bottom - another windows will open with all the top labels.
3.) first, click on -> Permissions tab click on continue (if permission is requested, then click continue)-> pass to add-> Advanced-> click on search now-> select your administrator username in the drop-down list & then click OK twice.
4.) another window opens. Click the Allow button (for all) and click OK twice.
5.) then click on the owner tab and clicking on Edit tab change the owner of "XYZ" (-is your name account with administrative rights)-> click OK twice (or three times) to move close all the properties.
You would now be able to access files and folders FRO who were denied you permission before.

(the file/folder is shared on other computers)...Thanks in advance...LorenzYou can go in the advanced security settings and explicitly deny file record all users "deleting subfolders and files" and "Remove" permissions, make sure that you propagate permissions to all child objects. But, as mentioned by another poster, if users can change the files they can damage or save them as empty files.

I've attached a scan to an email, but it says "could not open the file C:\users\My Windows\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows |" Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\TQDLSO1A\etc, etc.
I'm probably not explaining my problem fairly - well, I scanned something in - I used Nuance Paperport. I have it attached to an email and sent to six people - including myself. I always open the attached file to make sure that the computer has sent the right thing. When I tried to open the attachment I got the message "cannot open the file - I have already sent you." I think that Norton Security got rid of the file I need. I think I will contact them. I tried to contact Nuance - but alas, my warranty has expired, so no help there unless I want to pay for it. If I can't have the problem solved through Norton, I will contact you again. Thank you very much for taking the time to try to help me. Have a great Thanksgiving action!

- Windows automatically updated and turn off the power.
- I couldn't connect, it says that the service user profile service does not logon. User profile cannot be loaded.
- Then I deleted my user profile in SafeMode by doing: 'make right click on computer - properties - settings - advanced - user - deleted my old account profile settings '. There is no option for me to "keep my files."
- Then I managed to connect, I guess having creates a default user account? Because there is a new folder in C:\Users\, called (former name). (old name) - PC. In C:\Users\(old name), it is empty.
Now, all my original files are gone because I deleted my old user profile. The size of my c: drive-has not changed much, so I guess all my files are still in only my computer, it's just that I can't find their "PATH". How could I get re-navigate to all my files? I need them so badly.

I have about 14 000 songs in my iTunes library, but really there are only about a quarter as much because there are so many duplicates. I don't know how they got there in the first place, and try to remove them is infuriating! I have already spent several hours going by checking all the files I want to remove (thinking that I would delete then all files at once) - only to find out that I still have to delete them one at a time. There must be a better way! Help, please.
If you don't know that you want to delete all checked the songs in your library:
- Create a new smart playlist with the following rules:
