  My client asked if their lesson can have an option of connecting at the beginning that allows to the learner to look at the whole lesson without having to click a next button or pause between chapters or modules and a second option to select an table of contents type screen where they can choose the specific chapter they want to watch and then when the chapter is finished , the learner may choose to continue to the next chapter or return to the TOC.

  I understand that I can create this scenario branching, but in my version, I would be reproducing the entire lesson (about 140 slides) to create two paths, a path with break/navigation for chapters and one without.

  Is there a better way to achieve this style of navigation and keep the file as small as possible?  My Java skills are at a beginner level, so please include the details if the solution must use Java.

  You can do this using variables and Actions Advanced conditional in Captivate.  But it is not a job for a beginner to Captivate.

  You must use the slide branching to set the value of a variable that indicates whether to watch any content or use the slide menu choices to the user.  Next, you need to use Actions conditional Advanced triggered by events YOU DRAG ENTER to skip certain slides and play others.  You must also implement the Menu slide and again use variables and Actions Advanced conditional go to return users after completing the sections.

  My criteria is that I have columns of detail with image (arrow). The detail contains the details of the failure of a report.
  
  Let's say, the table is like this with 2 columns

  what I want is that when I click on the image (arrow) its going to hit another report for each reason of failure.
  In the detailed report, we have full reason and solution to overcome this failure

  I came across this weird problem in my browser where none of these navigation options is visible. No Menu, no tabs, nothing no address bar. I can just google something and you click on the links. Make a right-click even does not work anywhere.

  Weeks of TRASH FIREFOX = 3.66

  All three of my computers were totally useless since I upgraded to FF3.66. Each is built/configured differently. Each has a different operating system. Each has all of the above problems. Crashes constantly, RAM usage and CPU on a Q9650 is always almost 100%. After screwing around days I finally is come here and discovered that I was among a very large group and upset users. With the last few update, I had small problems with my selection of modules Firefox them disabled for a later hotfix. Today, I found a new DL, 3.67 so I installed thinking the problem was addressed. After the installation of 3.67 it always says it is 3.66?

  I went to their site to find help on their part and could not do anywhere until I came here and read about my problem. Thanks for giving me a clear head, so I was able to find a good solution.

  My solution was to remove all products of Mozilla/Firefox and then install other navigation options. It was funny because for the first time in years, I had to use Microsoft Internet Explorer to access the other options. My computer is problem free and fast as usual now.

  I wonder how many other users have abandoned them due to this BS? For my part will probably stay with my new choice now.

  You have a lot of the navigation options in the Layout Bootstrap or models of starter.  See screenshot.

  Do not use Fireworks generated code.   Graphics applications are for images only.  Don't use them as a shortcut to creating code.   Who has never been their strong point.   Even if you manage to make it work, it will not work.

  You must first create the navigation list in the shared components of the application.

  Then on your new blank page, create a new list with the model "Navigation Région" box.

  In the next step, select the list that you made in the shared components and choose an appropriate model list eg "Vertical unordered list with bullets."

I saw somewhere that you can customize the icons if you have a corporate subscription - but is it also possible to remove the toolbar icons in total, and has simply a rollout of pages pop up when you press the screen?

• Navigation on question slides

  Maybe I'm missing something. I have a set course to the point with three slides in question. The question slides are not sequenced one after the other, but rather, spaced all screens in the content. I have the question changed to move to the next slide on a correct answer. This happens when the correct answer is provided. The slide plays through the time allocated to it rather than move forward.

  I don't GET the navigation options available. They seem much too rigid. Can someone tell me a quiz in Captivate 4 which is online, so I can see how others have dealt with the navigation options in the quizzes?

  Yes. Had the same problem. After clicking on send, the slide will go through the timing of the slide. Simply adjust timing of the slide 3 seconds or more and set it if it seems too short or too long.

  Hi Michael,

  You use a Question Pool? When you do, you are not given the same navigation options when simply inserting question slides. Ramification of question slides is possible only when you do not use a question pool.
