  You can replace your new CD burner with vurtually any DVD burner that is the same physical size, but you should make sure that the new Recorder has a set-up similar to your current drive configuration.

  In general, the reader will be configured as Master, Slave and Cable Select (Csel), by the manufacturer and must match the configuration of your current player. One of the tools of Nero will show you the current drive configuration.

  Unfortunately, most retailers do not show configuration and with slim-line readers, there is no DIP switch that allows you to change it.

  This old laptop model is certainly not longer supported and you do not find an update on the Toshiba support page. What you can do is to look around to find the laptop with the same graphics card, but maybe with newer driver and try to install it.

  Can you please tell us why you need more graphics performance? For games?

  Hmm, I remember that Satellite 5100 503 (PS511E) supports a Toshiba BIOS and pressing ESC then F1 should you allows to enter the BIOS.
  You must press ESC immediately after starting the laptop.

  Well, I found a motherboard only for Satellite A60-126. It s an OEM factory direct system / motherboard - 256 MB Mem 90 watts TV-Out Part number: V000040870.

  I m not 100% sure if this part is compatible with A60 - 123. I suggest to ask ASP for the name of the motherboard. I m sure that the service partner can help you.

• Help! Satellite 5100 - 503 has stopped working!

  I have a Satellite 5100 503 and was really satisfied until yesterday.
  Now it has stopped working.
  What I did: closed the laptop after work (everything is ok) and it only stems for a while. When I opened the laptop again to continue working, nothing happened.
  Only the small frontdisplay showed me a spinning CD (no CD inserted) and battery light. After pressing the button on the sur-signe appeared, but nothing happened again. By pressing the button again (a few seconds), do go away on-sign. No display, no fan, no noise of hard disk in any case (ono/stop). Insert an audio CD and works by pessing the play button! Soundsystem works well.

  Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

  have you tried to remove the battery for about 5 to 10 minutes! It seems that the laptop is unable to start the file hibernation to start windows. You can also try to push the button to start for 5 seconds.

  After update the latest driver bluetooth (version 3 July 2005), the bluetooth Manager will not start at all: a saying "TosBtMne.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" error message, and no bluetooth services are available.

  Usually, when you visit the page for your model of laptop on http://www.toshibamea.com/ComputerProduct/4/Satellite_C850-B520/50816?pageid=4 and click on drivers you should be able to find the drivers for your machine but anyway it doesn't work.

  I ve checked the download from Toshiba on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp page and you will find 64-bit Win8 to your PSKCEV machine drivers.
