Each laptop manufacturer offers generally the list of compatible and parts accessories that can be used on some model laptop. As much I know this parts Toshiba doesn't offer to upgrade if with this you are on your own.
With other words, you'll be very happy if someone on this forum has the same laptop model, use the same room and I can confirm that it works perfectly.

In General, it is not expensive and I think that you can buy and test it.
Do you know how to remove the optical disk drive?

Anyway, if you need help, you are welcome.

One last thing: has your valid warranty for laptop?

  • I need to back up an entire hard drive, XP and all

I replaced a strong record for my neighbor and found myself in a strange position. I need to back up the entire hard drive, so I can replace it with a larger, but cannot start on this disc (when its in my computer) because of a BSOD. I can start in my regular reader (the one I normally use in my computer) and browse the disk I'm trying to backup with no problems. I tried to use Norton Ghost, but when I try to boot from the new drive, I get an error and cannot continue. That I can use that backs up the entire disk, including Windows XP and all the files and allow me to boot from it?

    4ndyC2D,
Microsoft didn't offer not any type of disc for XP Imaging tool.  At this point, you will need to use a 3rd party program to accomplish the task.

  • I can't recover my system (DV6000) using recovery discs after replacing the card mother/HARD drive

I have a DV6408nr (windows vista Home premium) I had to replace the motherboard and hard drive. When installing the new motherboard (same part No.: 443775-001) and insert the recovery (bought from HP) discs that I have, I received an error message stating that the PC could not be recovered using my disks. The serial numbers on the label service and in my bios do not match. When I entered the serial number of my bios in HPpartsurfer, he said that the system is a DV6449us. I already checked my RAM and HARD drive is brand new/not formatted. I used these recovery discs (manufacturer: 483905-003/483906-003) successfully before on other flags of DV series. Is there a reason why these discs should not work on two motherboards in the same system with these similar specs? What should I do to get my system recovered?

The number of the motherboard and other show information in the bios of the new Commission?

The numbers do not match the recovery disks or information is missing in the bios.

If it's really a mismatch, then you will need to find the good recovery disks or use a Dell installation disk operating system and use the product key from the sticker on the laptop to get activated, and then manually install the drivers.

If the bios tattoo is damaged or missing information only a used HP Center can then fix the tattoo.

I can read only half of my product key due to wear, but I need to reinstall xp on my hard drive again. How can I get the key?

If you can still boot your old disk, you can use a program such as one of them:

    KeyFinder: <> http://www.magicaljellybean.com/ >
    Belarc Advisor: <> http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html >

to read the key out of your old system.

Also note that if you have a system OEM and the OEM installation disks, the key can be incorporated in the installation discs and can not be necessary when your reinstalling Windows.

  • Satellite Pro C50 - A - 1 K 9 - use of the HARD Drive Caddy

    Hello

When I got my new laptop the first think I did was to install an SSD.

I don't usually use my optical Bay so I am planning to install a HARD drive enclosure.
Someone has already done this, and if so have you had any problems? Also, what are data transfer speeds?

    Thank you

    Fraser

I can't tell you if this extra HARD drive caddy will work in the Satellite Pro C50 series STRANGE Bay - A - 1 K 9 because that depends on the support of the BIOS and the controller.

I read about these updates several times in different forums and to be stone, sometimes it is possible, but in many cases, the BIOS does not recognize this drive caddy HARD and laptop does not start.

In the case where you have already tried these updates, please share the details with us!
I think it would be very interesting for others, if this update worked correctly.

  • need help syncing replacement of the external hard drive for Lightroom

    Hello Lightroom community.

I've exhausted my research and am now seeking help. Please direct me to this information in the forum if it exists. Also, I am a novice and while I am learning lightroom quickly with all my time spent in forums and online videos, I am limited in my understanding of how it all works.

Problem: I store my Lightroom Catalog and backups on my portable MacBook Pro. I use two external hard drives to store all my images and store my time machine backups. My external hard drive (1-hand) and my external hard drive (2-Back-up) were also well synchronized with the catalog and recognized by lightroom when I edited the pictures. I mainly used the DHM 1-hand when I edited, especially when I went. Last month, my main 1 - EHD died and was unrecoverable. I got lucky that my backup drive (DHM 2-back-up) has always had the images and changes.

In order to quickly save my 'JEP 2-back-up"to a new 'Hand' work external hard drive replacement, I dragged and dropped the backup disk images to the new"Main"drive so that I can sleep at night. This gave me the peace of mind that all of my images and backups time machine were now on two disks again. (Note: the new ' hand ' disk has a different name. ") Is this important?)

How can I get Lightroom to recognize and sync with my new drive and photos? Is there a simple way to do this or do I have to restart the process from the beginning? If so, where should I start? I'm afraid to attempt without some advice/suggestions from the experts.

Thank you for any information, you can pass it along! Please let me know what I can provide additional information.

Side note: when I looked to import the images of the new 'Hand' DHM - although this would make duplicates-Lightroom recognized that there are duplicates. So, where is the missing link?

If you can rename the new primary drive to match exactly the name of the previous main drive, that should correct the problem.

If this is not the case, then you want to open your Lightroom Catalog and then reconnect the top-level folder that contains your pictures by right-clicking on this top-level folder and then to find Missing folder pointing Lightroom on the equivalent top level on your new drive main folder. The details are described here (see Figure 4): Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing

Side note: re-import never corrects this problem, it only makes it worse. Never use to reimport into solution in Lightroom.

  • Desktop HP Elite 371f: replacement / upgrade of the hard drive

Hi, my HP Elite 371f desktop computer needs a new internal hard drive. He l just replace one that is in it, or do you recommend a better? I listen to a lot of TV and my nephew likes to play video games on it. THX

    Hello.

According to the specifications of your motherboard, you have 2 ports SATA - 1xSATA I and II 1xSATA, so if you choose, you can add another hard drive and have two separate storage locations. However, remember that I have the speed SATA port will be limited to 1.5 Gb/s, which is the maximum speed available SATA I can reach.

Regarding a specific hard drive that I can recommend, because you want to run applications from the secondary storage unit, you can check WD Black, which is a performance oriented HARD drive with limited 5-year warranty and has good features like a built-in dual-core CPU that makes the ideal player for multitasking , or WD Blue, which is intended for the calculation of daily and he is quite able to run most of the games as well as many programs for editing or programming. Here are some links if you want to take a look:

    WD Blue - http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=iErTRv

  • PC HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT: Replacement of the SSD HARD drive and Recovery Options

I have a PC HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT I went recently to drive HARD original for one SSD of 850 Evo from Samsung using Samsungs cloning/copying software. Everything went well and the PC is in use today. I do not see the partition D: Recovery on this machine more well, so I think this has not copied or was lost. I still have the disk that was replaced.

I was wondering if there is a way to replace HARD drive like this with an SSD and everything by keeping the system recovery feature that was on the HARD disk, and if a set of system recovery disks of before installing SSD would continue to operate, or if I need to create new ones, and if I CAN create new ones.

    rgoodrich

I did what you want to do (for example, to replace a disk with a DDI) and was able to retain the function of HP recovery - but it's because of two important facts.

First of all, I used a DDI with the same capacity as the original HARD disk.  This is important because if you use a smaller SDS, the HP recovery feature will no more work as a reset begins with reformatting the drive and recreate the original scores - which will fail if the disc is too small.

Second, I use Macrium Reflect product to 'clone' the HDD to the DDI, which means, he made an exact copy of the partitions on disk on the SDS.  So, when I swapped drives, the PC restarted without any problem.

People have posted here on the use of the software from Samsung, and they seem to have problems restarting after use and (apparently) with successful copy from disk HARD original in the new SDS.

  • Hello. I created an image of HD main on a hard drive external drive. It is: HD used 282 GB 320 GB, disk backup image has 251 gb. Is all backed up? Can anyone help on this? Thank you

Hello. I created a disk image of my mac HD on an external hard drive. It is: my mac HD is used 282 320 GB, backup disk image, I did a 251 gb. Is all backed up? I need to be sure before you reformat the HD and install mac so original. Can anyone help on this? Thank you

    Probably not.

Need an external hard drive as large or larger than the drive you want to back up.

You have not said what backup software you are using.

I use Carbon Copy Cloner by https://bombich.com/ $40.00 there. You can also use Super Duper.

These two products will make a bootable backup complete or a clone of you existing hard drive, including your recovery partition.

Once you made the backup, if your hard drive has never been to fail, you could simply start on the external backup drive.

If you back up because you're upgrading the hard drive for an SSD, you can put the SSD in an external enclosure and clone your drive in the SSD, test it, and then replace the HD when you are confident that it works well.

P.S. External hard drives are cheap these days. Here is an example: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-my-passport-ultra-1tb-external-usb-3-0-2-0-portab le-hard-drive-classic-black/7869174.p? id...

  • Need to test the broken laptop hard drive but has strange adapter

I have a Compaq NX7400 and the screen is broken. I want to test the hard drive to see if that works, but it has a weird card. Does anyone know if it emerges because I can then put it in a laptop from work to see if it works?

This works. This is the main interface. It's called SATA... it has replaced the old interface IDE brass pin about 8-10 years ago. That the hard drive can be connected to a desktop computer with an open SATA data port and adapter and SATA power adapter; right interface is identical to a SATA desktop hard drive.
