• I have a laptop with the finger scan, but I forgot my admin password.

  I have read many questions about lost passwords, BUT I am able to log on with the finger scan. I can't remember the actual password.

  I want to change it of course. I can't launch that the password reset utility because that it ask for the password.

  If you can log in with an administrator account, perform the following steps.

  1. go in Start / All Programs/Accessories. Right-click on the command prompt and select run as administrator .

  2. in the command window, type of the following command, exactly as shown. :

  NET user administrator / Active: Yes

  Press ENTER.

  You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you will now see the built-in account administrator as a choice to open a session. Select this account. (It should not be a password associated with this account)

  3. open Contol panel / user accounts. Select Manage another account.

  4 Select your normal administrator account, and then click remove the password . Click the Remove password button.

  Log out and log in with your normal administrator account and create a new password. When you create the new password, select the option to create a password reset disk.

  It's because, apparently, there is no administrator account.
  If and only if, there is account admin on your system Windows will allow the built in (if not already enabled) administrator account if you start Sate mode.  Use the main administrator account to activate admin at least a user account.  Restore your admin account or create a new admin account.   You must keep at least one active admin account to manage your computer.  A supplement is even better.

  Unfortunately, we are not allowed to provide assistance of password cracking. However, by default Windows administrator account is hidden subject to a new account with administrative privileges has been created. Start the computer in Safe Mode. If an additional admin account has been created, you will be presented with the option to choose the default Administrator account. You can choose to log in to this account and if no password has been set for this account, you can use it to remove passwords for other accounts. Otherwise, you will need to use Google to find an answer.

  1. it depends on how your password has been strong, experienced how are thieves and how long they have.  If you have a password (alpha-numberic with special signs) and thieves are not very experienced, they can't

  2-If your password is not strong, or that they are very experienced, they may very well.

  3 - If you have the key and can prove to the satisfaction of MS they can mark the invalid key and they will not be able to get updates etc.

  There is no way to retrieve a forgotten password. However, you can do this:

  1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
  2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
  3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
  4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
  5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
  6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
  7. Configure Windows to a point until you have changed the password.
  8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key.

  Why you n t know the admin password? Normally all passwords will be defined by the user, or in other words, I suppose that you have set all passwords.

  Unfortunately if you n t know the password more you have to reinstall the entire operating system. So take the Toshiba Recovery disk or the Microsoft disk to reinstall Windows.
