  Hi all -
  I have a LOV cascading on a page with a tabular report. The user connects and selects a value in LOV1 which then pushes the values that appear in LOV2. All right.
  
  To meet a new requirement, I changed the SQL query behind LOV1 while for some users a single value is set up by default in LOV1 based on: APP_USER. It works fine, except that because these users no longer need to select a value in the list, return value from the element that animates the second LOV is not be filled. The result is that the second LOV now has no value. I've tested this in just trying to show the item which is defined in LOV1 in the page header (& P15_LANGUAGE) and on the page load it returns null, even if LOV1 indicates the correct display value.
  
  I tried to create dynamic action to the point of loading the page, but it goes right in a loop and continually refreshes the page. I can set up a sample application, but if all goes well, there is a quick solution to this. I searched the Forum but can't find anything that specifically addressed this issue.

  It's the difference between what is happening in the browser vs. database (session state).

  The calculation updates a value in session state for the item page, which can then be used in queries and pl/sql.

  The SQL in the LOV populates the list of selection rendered on the page. This makes SQL refers to this variable binding, that the value exists in the session state.

  So already when opening the page, the select list had values in (browser), and the browser also displays a selected value because there is no option zero. But before sending the page, there is no need to adjust anything in session state - what is ultimately a table in the base of the APEX.
  Calculating forces a value in session state when the lov child makes, there is therefore a value in that variable binding - so record return.

  I use APEX 4.0.6 and I have a page with 4 regions and each of the region shows a classic report which SQL is very similar to the other:

  For region 1, the SQL looks like select * from history where status = 'A ';
  For region 2, the SQL looks like select * from history where status = 'B ';.
  For region 3, the SQL looks like select * from history where status = 'C ';
  For region 4, SQL looks like select * from history where status = ';
  
  To optimize database performance, I like to create a page element called p_status_value on this page and using the syntax of following link for the SQL statement for all 4 regions:
  
  Select * from history where status =: p_status_value;
  
  However, I need this page element value is dynamically change for each region:
  
  For region 1, p_status_value = "A";
  For region 2, p_status_value = 'B ';.
  For region 3, p_status_value = 'C ';
  For region 4, p_status_value = ';
  
  Also, I need hide this element of the page on this page.
  
  Can someone show me how to do this?

  Then I would have 4 regions, with each region report, create a box item in each area, called PXX_REGION_VALUE and then your request is:

  select * from history where status = :PXX_status_value_X; (XX for page # and X for region #).. The database engine will crunch through the query and your dashboard will work fine..

  I am facing this problem, do not know how to solve this problem. Basically, the default value 'elements' on the page don't prepare you when the session is disabled and I visit the page for the first time. So when I check the session for the first time, all page elements are null. But when I revisit the page, page elements sometimes gets.
  
  Don't know what I'm missing here... Someone has encountered this problem before?

  Yes. Create a "Page Rendering" PL/SQL process. That it is very early in the page rendering (i.e. "on charge ‑‑ after Header"). Set the value of the element of page here:

  I have a little trouble with my first website of muse. When I do the objects on the master page forward, everything works fine (even in preview mode and in the browser preview), but on other pages all the parameters of the agreement seem to have disappeared.
  The items I brought forward are covered by elements which should be behind them. Now, I have to copy most of the objects on each page's master page.

  This is an expected behavior in Muse. The stacking order of elements on a master page is limited to the master page. Page master are always behaind elements in the pages of the child, and you can't "release" elements on a master to display on top page (z-order) of the elements of child pages. Currently, you must copy and paste items to display on the top on all pages of the child. This has been a frequent feature request. Please add your vote:

  The page is not the parent of the elements on the page.

  The parent of a page element (kSplineItemBoss) is kSpreadLayerBoss, the parent of a page (kPageBoss) is kSpreadLayerBoss too.

  You can create page on kSpreadLayerBoss items.

• Position of the element on the page

  Hi - I'm still pretty new to LiveCycle so hopefully it'll be easy.

  I produce a PDF and I am trying to get information on each element to put in bookmarks XML so that I can bookmark the PDF dynamically.

  I found that I can use xfa.layout.page (this) in the script of layout: ready to get the page number of each article, but I can't work, how to get the position of each element on the page.  All I can find are this.x/this.y and xfa.layout.x (this) / xfa.layout.x (this), but those will be 0,0 - which I think is because the element is located at the top left of the element that contains.

  Does anyone know how to get the position of an element on the page?

  You are right that the coordinates are based on the top/left of the container. When you work with coordinates I tend to set the container of the Page master at 0,0, so that all objects are then based on this.

  Is there some simple AS the syntax to align the elements on the page selected on a page?

  Dictionary seems to imply that, saying:

  align to distribute Articles of page element : the page to align or distribute items.

  Align option left edges/borders/right edges lower/upper centres centres/vertical edges / horizontal: the type of alignment to apply.

  I tried this:

  put vertical alignment to top of the edges

  Its a little crazy but here ya go, I wish that the AppleScript dictionary listed examples... especially when the syntax is wacky.

  Select a bunch of images, or have references object in a list (I use just selection to make it easier):

  Tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"

  tell the active document
  MyImages set to the selection

  align align them distribute myimages elements align the edges left option
      
  tell the end

  The text in red, this is where you put the settings listed in the dictionary.

• Can adjust the elements on the page in MX, but not in CS3

  I don't know what to call this problem, then couldn't do a search on this forum. I have two computers, which works in Dreamweaver MX, the other running CS3. I can access different elements of a particular set of web pages in MX, for example to resize a photo. But in CS3 all the page elements in the div "content of" highlight as a single element, so that, for example, if I try to remove a Word from the text, the entire content - images, text, etc. - is removed instead. I made these pages in MX. I guess there are some default setting in CS3 which prevents me from access to individual content items. Here's an example page:

• What elements of the page get included in the URL on doSubmit()?

  It's quite perplexed me.
  
  I have a page with 5 items on the page in a region in a table. All of them are hidden and protected.
  
  The page is loaded with one of these items on the page specified in the URL.
  
  If I use the button to delete one or more rows on the, or click on the button "Add new line", the page is submitted and returns with three of these five elements in the page specified in the URL.
  
  First question: why only 3 and not all 5? Why THESE three? I see no difference between one of the page elements appear in the URL submitted from that which is not.
  
  Second question: I've changed one of these page items to display conditionally. If a certain condition is not met, the field is never out of the page. However, EVEN THEN when I send the page using one of the buttons above, the field is included in the URL submitted! Should that even happen? That actually seems a safety hazard, unless there is something I am doing wrong.
  
  I can probably create a test page to apex.oracle.com if necessary. (It of now on apex.oraclecorp.com, but move it will take time because I'll have to remove some sensitive data). But I hope that it is just some easy concept to explain, I'm just not grasp.

  (1) check the branch. the branch defines what happened on the next page.

  (2) Yes, this is the correct behavior. condition is for rendering, but the direction is fixed.
