Networking Power PC with intel Mac

I had an ethernet connection between AT & T Uverse router (located in my basement) to my main computer to intel. I added a netgear switch near the computer (located on the 2nd floor) so that I could connect other devices. I connected a Mac Power PC viaethernet directly to the switch netgear and server to switch impression netgear the Intellifax via the NC8100h. I have no other software to set up the NC8100h that I could find on the Brother's Web site that is Mac compatible. I was able to mount a disk image on the PC to the power of the intel Mac, so I managed in this regard (is not stable. A timeout). But I was not able to mount a disk image of the PC Power on the intel Mac desktop. I could add the Intellifax as a printer for the Power PC on the network, but when I sent a file from the PC to the power he disappeared into oblivion, and do not show up in the queue. He did, however, attach to the top of the printer, and when I tried to send a file from the intel Mac, the work was put on hold in the queue. The work of the power PC never printed. The Intellifax is also connected to the computer via USB, and I was wondering if that was the problem. So I unplugged the USB and tried to add the printer using the IPP and LPD-Line Printer Daemon. The Intellifax could not be verified on the network. I don't know enough about this to locate the Intellifax using addresses, and even if I knew the address I don't know where exactly to enter this info. Is that mean that the NC8100h does not actually connect to the network? Should I connections, ethernet and USB? Side note: I can not connect to the internet with the Power PC G4, even if I'm on ethernet and the ethernet connection is connected to the AT & T Uverse router. I always get an error message (see my previous posts). I have turned off all devices in the airport and you can use internet on intel Mac, but not the Power PC G4.

What messages earlier?

If the printer is connected to the MacIntel only using USB, is setting up printer sharing on MacIntel for Mac PPC work?

It's the hp 6310 printer while a capable with a mac (macbook pro) wireless networking?

Well Yes, I just need to know what version of Mac OS X you are using to give you specific instructions.

Make sure that your printer is connected to the router with an Ethernet cable and the printer is turned on.   Now, reboot the router by unplugging the power then plug back.  Wait for it to restart completely (about 60 seconds).  Then:

-Go to the Apple (top left of your screen) menu > System Preferences > Print & Fax.

-Click the "+" at the bottom of the white rectangle.

-Your Mac will find your printer and the list.  Click on it once and click on the button 'Add', once it is available.

    Its just so easy.

Your printer is ready to use.  Scan of him using apps preview or Capture of Image (in your Applications folder).  Press scan on the front of the printer does not work with 10.6.

I do not understand the question. Can you use computer A while using a computer B? You talk about network rendering? If so, then consider the two computers must be able to run After Effects and open the project that you are working with. Because After Effects CS4 work on processors with Intel (not PowerPC chips), the Mac architecture "not Intel" is a non-starter.

Temperatures are 40 ° C bleow. Their apperas when on battery and when it's plugged in. I put all the power options in Windows and BIOS to maxium.

Tell me HP, will make you an update of the BIOS, or should I rush to the store to return the product?

It is a Forum for users, no direct access to HP. There are a few employees here HP, but they speak for themselves, not HP. don't hold your breath for any type of BIOS update, or you can find a place where HP will announce an update of the BIOS in advance or even to explain the reason that issued it. If you have a privilege to return on the laptop I would promptly exercise.

  • VMware device with 2 network cards claiming the same IP address with two MAC addresses

    Hello.

I see messages intermittent my gateway network two MAC addresses associated with a virtual machine running on a 5.5 ESXi host for the same IP address.

The virtual machine is a MiTel 3300 controller for a VOIP system. the system is configured with two IP addresses, one on the local network and another with a public IP address in the DMZ. In the network configuration of the 3300, I assigned the address LAN IP at 00: 0C: 29:30:B2:B2 and the DMZ IP at 00: 0C: 29:30:B2:BC (Mac for network devices presented by the ESXi host virtual machine).

On the host, I configured a vSwitch with exclusive access to two physical network adapters on the host machine. The vSwitch is configured with two machine virtual port groups, LAN and DMZ, with access to the physical network interface cards. Tab grouping of groups vSwitch port NIC, I replaced the order of failover of the switch to activate an active NETWORK card only for the Group of LAN ports and the other card NETWORK only for the DMZ port group. (I don't know how the content of the column of networks is determined. Neither is correct for the traffic on the physical switch. If these are configurable, please advise and I'll change the settings). The relevant parameters of vSwitch, groups of ports and VM are distinguished below.

On the virtual machine itself, through the VMWare host, I assigned 00: 0C: 29:30:B2:B2 for the Group of LAN ports and 00: 0C: 29:30:B2:BC to the DMZ group port (best I can tell, anyway, since the MAC address field annoyingly obscures the last two digits of the MAC address - break if I invert the mapping) (, but all seems OK).

The goal here is to make sure that MACs of ports vSwitch the 3300 is listening and sending always correspond to the physical ports that are VLAN Tag by the physical switch to ensure the routing. Generally speaking, it seems that what is happening but, intermittently, we cross one-way calls that suggests a problem of routing between us and our SIP trunk provider; coinciding with these incidents, I get an email along the lines of "the security in the network device has detected a conflict of IP address with two or more devices. The period of INVESTIGATION "DMZ. DMZ. DMZ. DMZ' is claimed by the following clients with MAC addresses: ' 00: 0C: 29:30:B2:B2' ' 00: 0C: 29:30:B2:BC'. »

I did something in the configuration that would lead to this kind of collision intermittent? Have a hacked together a way to do something that could be accomplished in a way that is simpler and more reliable?

Thanks for any idea that you can offer.

    Kind regards

    J.

I probably don't fully understand your configuration, but it seems that you are not interested in using the collection of NETWORK adapters in the virtual switch of the VM MiTel 3300.

If it is correct, why not create two virtual switches, each with a group of port (LAN and DMZ) unique and with a separate connection of (vmnic2 and vmnic1)?

In general, collection of NETWORK adapters may be used to share traffic between uplinks and ensure that if one of the uplinks connect fails, a virtual machine still has access to the network.

  • ESX uses network adapter with the mac address that is different than virtual connect reports

    Hi all

Our ESX environment consists of HP C7000 enclosure, virtual connect 1 gb ethernet with a mixture of BL480c and BL460c. We just bought some new BL460c G7 with NIC NC553i to replace some of the oldest BL480c. We have configured Virtual Connect to assign mac addresses. In vc management consoleI see the addresses assigned to the server, but when I start the server displays a different mac address for nic #2 that vc does. NIC #1 has the same mac address of console management vc and in the server BIOS. When I install ESX also sees the 'wrong' for #2 nic mac address. According to vmware nic #2 has not any network connected to what should be if it was really nic #2 (according to the vc management console).

When I look at the mac addresses in the BIOS none of the network interface card have the mac address assigned by vc. VC firmware is 3.01. I have attached the photos I see information in the management of VC and BIOS console. Someone at - it for clues to what is happening and how can I solve it? Thanks in advance.

  • allright, I have an Intel Mac using OS 10.5.8 and Firefox v3.5.17; version 4.0, version 16.0, this is all very confusing? Will be forced to change soon

I have an Intel Mac using OS 10.5.8 and Firefox v3.5.17. It works fine and I don't want to change I like Firefox 'exactly' like that! That said, I'll be forced to update soon, I'm afraid. Looking at and trying to update to the latest version, many conflicts have developed. The update regularly which brings me to the wrong version for my OS. So, which version will be later that will absolutely work for OS 10.5.8? WHY I find that 4.0 X is the best then, 16.0. is the right one?

Why are the versions so vastly separated??
Nothing makes sense. Please help before I convert to Chrome permanently!

    Thank you.

You have only two ways out of updating to OS X 10.6.8 and Firefox 16.0.2 or version of ESR Firefox 10.0.12.

In regard to safety ESR version would be the best choice and would go for this version see if web pages continue to complain.

In case of complaint you can always try 16.0.2.

With older hardware, you will always hit sooner or later a barrier and will consider updating your hardware (which in this case may be a new computer).

Firefox 4 versions and later, do not run on a PowerPC Mac and require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

How to use the adapter from the wall with my Mac Pro laptop?

The AC wall connector is not compatible with the outlet on the MBP?  As the MBP charger will work from 100v to 240v, a transformer is necessary.  You need a converter that connects to the power outlet home and is compatible with your MBP.  You can buy the Apple travel kit:

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/MD837AM/A/Apple-world-travel-adapter-Kit

Or you can use a single specific converter for the geographical area:

    http://www.Amazon.com/orei-grounded-universal-adapter-Singapore/DP/B004SCSV2U/re f = sr_1_4? ie = UTF8 & qid = 1460735377 & sr = 8-4 & keywords = us + in + uk + power + adapter

(it is a UK USA example)

Or you can get the converter that adapts the charger directly:

  • Strange problem with wireless MAC

I think I have a rather unusual question.

The problem is that my Macbook Pro (osx Lion) is not able to access my Photosmart B109n wireless. I can only connect via the usb cable. I share the printer with two other laptop users (windows), but they are able to connect wirelessly. I have reinstalled the driver several times and tried to install the network configuration again and again but nothing works. This problem exists already for a long time, also until I upgraded to Lion.

I am convinced that the problem is not due to my router. At school, I'm not able to use the HP color LaserJet as well and I can only print via ethernet. In other words, there is something wrong with my mac. Seriously, I don't know what it could be.

Our "home network" is called "Fitz". Whenever I try to install the network printer configuration, the printer asks the key network and attempts to connect to "Fitz". Whenever the printer is able to connect to the network. After that, the config. Assistant told me that I can remove the usb cable to continue the installation. Then the problem happens. At the moment I have remove the usb cable, the laptop immediately tells me that it is not able to connect to the printer, because I am not connected to "Fitz" (I'm always) and I can only use the wireless printer if I am connected to "Fitz".

Reset the print/fax list no longer works!

Please please can someone help me? Thank you!

Nevermind, I was able to solve the problem today!

All I had to do was pick "Shared printer on the network" check box in the printer preferences. Gosh, if I had known this before... I was not able to print wireless for 5 months. Makes me so stupid.

Thank you in advance for your help!
    Happy user of T M30X

    Hello

I guess you have INTEL Wireless Card. After installation of SP2 to check if there is some conflicts in your device manager. You can update driver for the wireless card. It is always good. :)

As BOB said go to https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com (then adapter & download of drivers and downloads).

It is driver for your Intel (V. 8.0.12.9000W2BG) wireless card. Install it and check is there no conflicts in Device Manager.
If this is not the case, turn your wireless card and FN + F8 to enable the wireless connection.

If you re router wireless works correctly and if your WLAN has a name you see now. I know it's sometimes very complicated to establish the connection, but you must try all the options.

Please let us know if you are creating your successful login.
