The networkRetries parameter is provided for the case where your network may experience some instability of connectivity. For example, a router disconnects or you accidentally pull the net cord out of the wall or you lose wifi connectivity momentarily. During these periods, the forms applet will try to repeat his previous request X times (networkRetries). If she is unable to communicate with the server in this number of attempts, it will throw a an error FRM-9xxxx and the end of the session (client side). Unable to connect to Oracle Apps R12

Hello
I have an Oracle Instance R12 installed on my laptop (middle-tier and the database). When I tried to launch the executable form in the responsibility of the system administrator after login, I got the following error:
FRM-92102: A network error has occurred. Customer Forms attempted to re-establish its connection to the Server 5 times without success. Please check the network connection and try again later.
I googled on this topic and found that changing networkretries setting helps.
I changed the parameter networkretries in the file $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/formsweb.cfg of 0 to 30.
After that, I stopped the instance (adstpall.cmd) and started (adstrtal.cmd) again.
Now, when I run the (IE) browser and try to connect to the Oracle Apps instance, it gives me the following error:
HTTP 500 Internal Server Error
The website cannot display the page
HTTP 500
Any help on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Manual updates to the configuration files are to be avoided - AutoConfig should take care of everything, from where you are now I would say stopping and running again AutoConfig to see if that lets you go back to a working configuration.

You have not specified the R12 version, so I think that you have loaded an out-of-the 12.1.1 box on your laptop to test?

If I remember well 12.1.1 comes with JRE6 in the techstack, but is not the patch of Sun JRE interoperability (4377566) previously applied, it's something to check.

The forms out-of-the-box technology stack also needs the additional fixes to make it compatible JRE7.

My question is what is the purpose of the forms_ie.js, should use us it when we do not run with the standard models htm and if we should how I change my code to include the latter.

The reason why the java script (js) files have been added was the result of a change being implemented by browser vendors (Microsoft in this case). Without going into deep detail, the addition of these files was necessary in order to obtain the forms applet to load after that some restrictions have been added to IE. It was suggested that restrictions that cause once the need for these files has been deleted or modified. As a result, he peut+ _ be possible to remove these files and their references. Oracle is looking into this possibility, but currently has not completed any formal test to prove if they are no longer needed.

Feel free to remove them and make the appropriate changes to the corresponding model html files. Test drive it and let us know what you find. ;)

Don't forget that since a Support of Oracle, view, delete these files and change this part of the model may not be considered "sustained."

[SOLVED] Web Forms - works on IE and Chrome, firefox, said that missing the plugin

It works perfectly in IE and Chrome I opened client Gin through the same URL, ex: http://10.0.0.28:7778/forms/frmservlet? config = gin4

However, if I try the same URL in firefox it shows a large gray square on the page with the message "click here to download the Plugin.

Clicking on install opens a small popup saying no appropriate plugins have been found, it is said to the inside and unknown Plugin (text/html) and a button to install manually is displayed.
By clicking this button, I am taken to this page: http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_06/index.html

I lost track on the number of times where I have installed uninstalled and reinstalled many versions of java not only the version 1.4.2_06.

I tried to solve this problem for a few months now with no luck.

This applies only when you use the dynamic as versions mentioned in the above article that you don't not firerfox as far as I can tell from the basexyz.htm that you posted.

Bascally there are 2 parameters that are used by browsers to check the version: jpi_classid and jpi_mimetype. jpi_codebase and jpi_download_page are used to provide information to download the plugins only appropriate in the correct versions.

The jpi_classid and jpi_codebase parameters are used by Internet Explorer (and as it seems too much chrome); jpi_mimetype and jpi_download_page are used by browsers like firefox mozilla based.

You have specified
```
jpi_classid=CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0006-ABCDEFFEDCBA
```
so that means you want to use 1.4.2_06 with internet explore. IE is a bit lazy in this regard (as far as I know) and uses specified version or any higher if you have installed everything (beginning just your forms app and take a look in the java console which version you use).

the specified MIME type is

```
Now, firefox works as expected and requires the exact version: 1.4.2_06. The firefox version recognizes your side 1.6.0_20 which is not the version would be asked at all.

As mentioned in the article, you can use dynamic versioning to specify at least one major version that should be used:

jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.6.0
```
would mean you can use any Plugin Java 1.6.0 (from 1.6.0_01 to 1.6.0_21)

If you for example use a any version of the YPI you could simply do
```
jpi_mimetype=application/x-java-applet
```
to run it with any installed YPI (from 1.4.x to 1.6.x)

Region content is not displayed when it is deployed on the OAS

I use JDeveloper 10.1.3 and Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.

I'm working on a [JSF, ADF BC] application. I have included a region in one of my jspx pages. Problem is that when I run the JDeveloper page content in the region are displayed, a form of Oracle running in an applet. But when I deploy the application to the OAS 10.1.2 on linux and run the page giving the URL to access my page, the page is displayed but will detect the content of the region, rather than a thin line shows that there is a defined region. Please note that the contents of the region is hard-coded to call the form of OAS (in both cases, either running to JDeveloper or OAS).

don't know what you think of the advantage of performance of a region is. From the point of view of the end-user an area resembles an inclusion.

KUBA, in fact, it seems that you can get parts of work when running. However, design-time support am never added and so we did not support this feature. If JHeadsart use this, then it is fine and is not contradict to what we recommend, because as an offering consulting, JHeadstart supports itself
