  What worries me is that your device manager does not have the IDT HD audio listed under sound video and game controllers Device Manager.

  Normally, when you install W10, the IDT HD audio device is in the list, and it just doesn't work.

  You can try reinstalling W10 and see what happens.

  You can get the drivers for the Inspiron 15z 5523 html page. Use the driver to Win 8.1 (marked 'WB64A') or one of the ones Win7.   Go to the Device Manager and in order to choose the hidden devices.
  Now you should see all the devices that are available on this system.

  Now go to the sound, video and game controllers and remove the Intel(r) High Definition Audio HDMI, audio Conexant high definition Smart, etc.

  In system devices, remove the Microsoft UAA Bus driver for high definition.

  Now, restart the laptop.

  After the new operating system reboot Windows should recognize all devices again.

  I'm using a Thinkpad T420 Windows 7 x 64. Since yesterday, I recognized the symbol small speaker in the tray has a red x and says no Audio output device is installed.
