No icons or taskbar

My taskbar and icons have disappeared. The only thing on the screen is my wallpaper. I tried dozens of responses up and nothing has worked. I can open Web sites via the Task Manager, but it won't let me open any kind of program. Whenever I try, I get an error message stating "C:\Users (or Documents and Settings, Windows, ect.). is not a valid Win32 application. "I restarted several times that I can count. I tried to restart in Mode without failure, and it goes to a black screen that says mode without fail in each corner. No tasks or icons bar. I can't try and restore to a date in the past, because I have no way to get to my Start button. I don't know what else to do. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I also tried to make another user, and would not even allow me to get the screen to do so. I received an error saying something or other on the local users and groups.

  • Windows 7 64 bit, start slowing down, the desktop icons and taskbar of loading very slowly since last week!

so first, I'll start with my system features:

    Reference Dell Xps15z
    Intel Core i7 - 2640M to 2.8 ghz
    NVIDIA GT525M 2 GB
    8 GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64-bit
    Samsung PM830 SSD 2.5 "7 GB 218, 42 GB of free
My laptop is now just a year and plays well outside some blue screen errors that have been fixed. The question now is time to start being significantly slower, especially the loading of the office. It takes 15 seconds to the password screen, to 45 seconds to reach the office and another 45 seconds to the taskbar, icons and things on the desktop to load. What is unusual is that during this black screen, my mouse is displayed, as well as for Advanced System Care 6 performance monitor (I doubt that this is the problem as I had installed for some time). I did the troubleshooting on mine and removed about half of my program without success. I also checked the health and performance of my SSD with SSD and SSD life and both seem to be very positive. I did not any changes to the Bios because I don't want to reinstall my OS and I'm not really sure on workarounds.
I tried also to the difficulty of the task of explorer.exe, by checking the value of shell in the registry and it is correct, that it just load slowly at the start and each time I kill and then open it again in the Task Manager. Therefore, I think that my main problem is with explorer.exe loading slowly for some reason, I also removed some desktop icons and taskbar, although I doubt that it makes much difference.
I've also done many scans with malware bytes pro and hitman pro, there is no virus on my computer.
I appreciate any help, as it is very inconvenient for my more than 90 seconds start time, when he was about 20 when the laptop was new.
Thank you very much for your help!
P.S. I have about 60 GB of games installed on my pc via steam, if it makes a difference to delete some

When my Windows 7 is slow to start, I do the following:

Start, then in the search box, type of race. In run, type "msconfig"(sans guillemets), and then click OK. ""
In the general tab, make sure that selective startup is selected.
Under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
Then go to the Startup tab and disable everything except software antivirus and important such as the microsoft. In addition, DO NOT disable any program that you do not recognize.
This will disable any unnecessary background programs and prevent to launch at startup.
NOTE: you can still start programs even if they do not start at startup. For example, your favorite game is one of them, and you the disabled. Now, the game does not start at startup, but if you click on the game icon later, it will always start, except maybe a bit slower when it starts. Basically, you are delaying the start of programmes which does not need to start at startup, you move a part of the start-up BACK period. The only programs that you do not disable is programs that actually need to start (like if it starts your computer will blow or something similar).
  • Equium A60 - 181 Win XP: card incorrect RLAN - icon notification taskbar

    Hello world

Ive took my Equium A60-181 for quite a while now and its been fairly reliable, sound always connected via WiFi to my home network.

Very recently, however, the icon in the tray system for network connectivity was incorrect. He said always I am not connected to the network... but I am, because the internet works and I can still access the network drive that is located on another computer on the network and network printers.

Why is the system status bar tells me that I am not connected to the network when I am?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    And Happy New Year.

    Rhys James

    Hello

I presume that you have assigned the LAN TCP/IP address and gateway manually parameters and these parameters are not set to automatic. Am I wrong?

The same message appeared to me. I connected my laptop to the other PC and changed the TCP/IP address settings.
It was the reason of this message in the taskbar.

All simply set it to auto again and you will get rid of this annoying message.

  • IdeaPad Yoga 13 - flashing icons and taskbar

I have a Lenova IdeaPad Yoga 13 and updated since Windows 8.1 for Windows 10. Everything works fine apart from the icons flashing in the bar of tasks and above the taskbar. The flashing seems to start when I move the slider autour, but in any particular situation. I can stop the blinking clicking pad mouse or wireless laptop. Has anyone else had this problem and solved? Windows 10 works fine apart from that.

Here is the link to the answer we found we it have done just that and no more flickering. Hope this works for you, too.

  • Where is my icon to taskbar for Volume?

Silly question, but... in the past, there was an icon in the taskbar on my tablet pc where I could adjust the volume on various things like the Speaker Volume, wave, SW Synth, CD player and Monitor entry and I could put a checkbox in a silent box for none of them. This is when I look on my Windows XP desktop pc and is called Volume control. But I can't find any which icon in the taskbar of my tablet that looks like a speaker and I must tell you that I have set task bar to display all the icons so that none are hidden. So this icon to go and/or how do I make it appear? I probably changed some setting somewhere while fixing things on my Tablet and I disappear

I found a great piece on how to disable the system sounds that makes Windows XP. I have now disabled many of them, so I can let my speaker volume mounted on a decent volume for my radio station. This site that taught me to do, it's at http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/turn-off-the-annoying-windows-xp-system-beeps/

See if the icon is still there when you reboot (in other words, the real test) or you have to go through these swings again?

All the icons on my desktop and my entire task bar disappeared completely. I tried right click but nothing happens no matter what I do. I have just my wallpaper with nothing on it.

    What can I do?

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete all > select Task Manager > file > click New task (run...) > in the Open box, type explore> OK

    Is back on the taskbar?
If so, make sure that you "lock the taskbar" by right-clicking in an open space of the taskbar > click 'lock the taskbar '.

If the problem persists, try to follow the steps provided by Mathegenius replied on October 6, 2010 in the following thread and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

Note : This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Display the icon from taskbar as line items and graphic thumbnails is no longer

    Hello:

Located on the taskbar at the bottom and to the right of the Start button I have my different programs, for example, Outlook, Excel, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, etc.  If you place your mouse on, for example, the Internet Explorer icon that I used to have small thumbnails to show me various instances open IE Windows.  But now thumbnails are gone and have been replaced by entries in the topic.

I have no idea what I did to change the view, and I prefer the thumbnail view.  Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thank you very much

    Eric

Right-click on your desktop, choose Customize and choose a theme from the list located in the Aero section.  The same engine that powers the previews is the network that feeds the transparent borders and edges, so using this theme it will correct.

  • Fix freecell icon in taskbar

FreeCell icon, suddenly came loose from the taskbar on my laptop... and I can't reinstall.  That's happened?  How to fix it.

    Hello Jacqueline.

The simplest is to right click the Freecell program icon and click on PIN to the taskbar. As for the way it came out, you could inadvertently clicking Freecell icon with and detach from the task bar, it is certainly easy enough to do.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

I am able to pull up the Task Manager and Explorer of the execution, but all that appears is My Documents.

How can I pick up my taskbar.

    Thank you

In fact I just used Roxio on the rails (which I didn't know I had) good people who sold me this netbook installed this as part of the package. And viola! It worked! Phew! Thank you!

  • Win 8 (Pro) - Questions on program files, the desktop icon and taskbar

    Hello

I just upgraded successfully Win 7 (home) to Win 8 (Pro).

I have a few questions in mind:

Q1: A program icon can be PIN to the taskbar and desktop at the same time?

Q2: Under Win 7, user can easily see all installed programs by clicking on all programs in the Start Menu and select no matter what and copy and paste it on the desktop or PIN to the taskbar task, but under Win 8, I could not find this feature. CAB user to access the program to install all at the same time? Or the user needs to type the name of the program to the search box one by one? How to pin it in the Start Menu Win 8 on the desktop instead?

Appreciate someone could help me in this area.

    Thank you

First question: Yes, of course.  You can place an icon where you want. Desktop, taskbar, start screen, at the same time.

    Second Question:

The start of Windows 8 has a screen view "all programs" similar to the former in Windows 7 (except the new is full screen).  To get her on Windows 8, right click on an empty spot.  If you have Windows 8.1 update, which makes it easier to find by putting an arrow at the bottom of the main screen.

To take an icon from the start menu or the list of applications and put them on your desktop, right click, choose "Open file location" and then copy / paste the icon on the desktop.
