Not able to connect to oracle after installation
Hi allI made an installation of oracle-xe - 11.2.0 - 1.0.x86_64 and after installation, I added the paths listed below.

You are running Oracle stuff as root: not to do it, use the oracle user instead, for example:
# su - oracle
$ source /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/bin/oracle_env.sh
$ sqlplus / as sysdba

Not able to boot up normally after installation of Service Pack 3.
Original title: I am trying to download Windowes XP SP3.
I am trying to download Windowes XP SP3. After installation and reboot my computer only allows me to start in safe mode. It seems that I don't suystem for SP3. Also, in safe mode, it says I can solve problems by going to the Control Panel, but does not give any other direction on what to fix.
Hi TimWaldal,
What is the exact error message that you receive in safe mode?
It seems that Service Pack 3 is not installed correctly.
(a) that you try to run the system restore from safe mode that will repair return the computer to the point while it was working fine.
How to restore Windows XP to a previous state
(b) you can then manually download & install Service pack 3 from this link and check if the problem persists.
Note: System requirements to install Windows XP SP3

Hope the helps of information.
Please post back and we do know.

Unable to connect to Oracle after installation
Hello
I'm trying to deploy an application that uses Oracle Express Edition 11 g. This is the first time I'm installation/use of Oracle, so probably I am doing it just wrong.
Here's what I did:
X 64 installed Open SUSE 12.1
Logged as root
Downloaded and installed Oracle Express Edition 11.2 Release 2, command: rpm - U DownloadedOracleFile.rpm
Ran /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure and set the port 8085 and listener 1521, also an auto-start enabled
Hit my head against the wall for three hours trying to launch SQLPLUS and finally the ORACLE_SID = ORCL and ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe value
So now I'm stuck again because I can not log in to the Oracle instance (?).
1 type sqlplus and enter the password and user root:
ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux-x86_64 error: 2: no such file or directory
Process ID: 0
Session IDs: serial number 0: 0
2 sqlplus virtue sysdba says ERROR: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
I've been trying to find information on this topic and oracle-xe configure should ask for some kind of password, but it never did. Reset password requires me to login as sysdba, which does not work.
What I am doing wrong?
Thank you
Petrus

Y at - it an oracle user associated with this facility although RPM was installed as root? Set oracle sid and oracle at home under this user (other than the root) and try to sqlplus login.

Hello
My laptop computer with the Compaq Presario C772TU model number has no internet connectivity fade via LAN or Wifi. There are no drivers. Until now I was using windows 7 (64-bit), and it worked very well. After 10 of Windows it cannot find the drivers! Please help me to get the drivers. If I go to HP, they have drivers for Windows Vista, which installed but does not work only! Help, please.
Hello:
The ethernet card, the only suggestion I can offer would be to try the W8.1 directly from Realtek drivers.
First driver on the list.
Do you know what model of wireless network card your PC came with?
The list of parts does not help me because it shows that there may be one of 3 different model wireless network cards.
If you are unsure, please do the following so I can understand what your laptop's model card...
Go to Device Manager. There should be a category of other devices containing a list of devices that need drivers under this category.
The wireless card is labeled as a network controller.
Click the network controller device, and then click the Details tab in the upper part of the window of network controller device.
Now you should see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.
On this list and select the 3rd point (Hardware ID).
After the first string of characters you see in the window.

Not either of the 5 applications that are installed on the printer, not working, by selecting I see apps update... Please wait and then cancel.
Can anyone help?
Thank you
Hi hp323,
Welcome to the HP Support forums. I understand that you are unable to get to work on your printer Photosmart 7520 applications and that you can not connect to connected HP.
Connected HP was rolled out for the United States and the United Kingdom. Please try connecting HP ePrintCenter with one country other than the United States or the United Kingdom as your choice of countries (which can be chosen in the lower left corner of the screen, please see the screen capture below). Who will stop the redirection to connected HP. What happens, is that you try to connect to the USA/UK ePrintCenter, which automatically redirects. Redirection is help the country from the computer and tries to redirect to HP related to your country and it fails because there is not a HP connected to your country.
Regarding applications, HP is aware of the problem and working on a solution. It is recommended that you have your updates of product set to automatic on the front of the printer in order to receive the update as soon as it is available. If you wish to discuss with a phone support agent, please call HP Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region, please click the link below to find technical support for your country/region number.

Not able to connect after changing the password using the VALUES ALTER clause
Hello
John explained earlier the clause VALUES below thread.
Status expired
I created a new account named SURI, and tried to use the password of the user account from the HR by using the VALUES clause. I was able to change the password but not able to connect SURI with HR password.
Please see below for details. And the SQL statements that I have tried.
Thank youSQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Mon Aug 13 18:44:50 2012 Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved. SuriIts because you have used a different username.
Oracle produces a hash based on the user name and the password, not only the password. Therefore, you can not use the hashed password of a user to log on to the account of another user.
You need to get the password hashed Suri and then connect you to suri by using the password hashed Suri (using the identified by the syntax of values)

not able to connect to the database using the oracle instant client
Hello
I am not able to connect to the database using the instant oracle from my local PC client. They use to connect to the database files and sqlnet.ora files LDAP.ora. If I want to test the connection, I found this executable tns wasn't there, so not able to tnsping. So I'm not able to solve this problem.
Please let me know if a solution for everything
Client Oracle: oracle 10.2bFAT client 32-bit
Platform: windows 7 64-bit
Thank you
VeeraThere is little that tnsping can do sqlplus can't.
Instead of
tnsping mydb.myorg.com
Try
sqlplus-s-L /@mydb.myorg.com
or
sqlplus-s-L user/[email protected]If you get
ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified
you know that the customer could not resolve 'mydb.myorg.com '.If you get
ORA-12541: TNS:no listener
then "mydb.myorg.com" could be resolved, but there is no listener it running. If you get
ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor
then "mydb.myorg.com" could be solved, the listener is in place, and the database is out of service. If you get
ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
you know that 'mydb.myorg.com' has been successfully resolved, and the database is running. If you want more details, such as how and what "mydb.myorg.com" is resolved, turn the tracking by adding the following to "sqlnet.ora:
TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT = ADMIN
TRACE_DIRECTORY_CLIENT = C:\TEMP (a writable directory)Then you will find lines like this in the trace file:
-THE INFORMATION SOURCE PARAMETER FOLLOWS-
Attempt to load system pfile source C:\oracle\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
Source of the setting successfully loadedAttempt to load the local pfile source C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\lanadvall\sqlnet.ora
The parameter source has not been loaded. This shows you which configuration files are read, followed by the settings real read.

not able to connect to windows update
Win 7 pro 64-bit, sp2 after windows installed 10 has not not able to connect to update server. When an attempt is made to trust installation and a host file resume all cycles of memory and cpu and it will continue to do that too long current arrives at the machine.
I ran fixit, check tools sfc, 3 different types of root kit tools and PGE antivirus both offline and online, new installation did not help, formatting the drive did not help.
support Microsoft is still without knowing what is really the issue. If you can help would like assistance
This problem seems to be related to a windows installation failed 10 what I finally did after a month of working with microsoft is I went to the microsoft update catalog site and downloaded and installed an update stand-alone said to improve the State of update and after about 4 hours it installed and downloaded updates.
It's the microsoft catalog https://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/home.aspx

Hi all
Thanks for all your replies.
I found the problem, post it here for future reference if someone has experienced the same problem.
