  You can easily set the HPSA to warn you of updates and then use your computer Support pages to download updates to install.

  Do not forget:

  It is the opinion of the Expert that you shouldn't depend on HP Support AWizard when it comes to BIOS updates.

  According to other factors in the system at the time when the HPSA trying to hit your system with an update of this type; the results could be... other than expected.

  You can set 'Notification' HPSA to prevent it from trying to update your BIOS.

  DON'T update the BIOS when you see an update in the Web page of your computer AND this update can be used to provide a fix for a problem that you have discovered in your system.  In other words: If your computer is happy, do not update the BIOS just because you think it would be a good thing to do.

  If you decide to update your BIOS

  • Make sure that ALL backups are up-to-date and complete - this means that everything you need to restore the system in case something goes wrong.
  • Understand that even when you do everything exactly right, you can end up with a bricked computer, that is an expensive paper weight.
  • Make sure you have at least your critical data on some form of external backup.
  • Unplug the USB drives and other useless material.  Keyboard and mouse can stay connected.
  • Always run power cable to update the BIOS, never on the laptop battery
  • Touch the system during the update is underway
  • Optional: Leave wireless ONbutton. You could turn off the router to ensure that there is no interruption.

  One of my friends has this laptop model (or another name: PSAA8E) and need to reinstall the operating system. The problem is that it doesn't have the drivers and I can't do them anywhere.
  I research on the European Union or on the Toshiba site, it is not the drivers of the A100, only A300or higher.

  The first thing to do is use Windows snipping tool in Windows 7 to capture devices that make up your laptop. This way you won't have through the hassle of hardware for each device ID when Windows 8 is installed.

  I did it for my current loan of the HP Envy spectrum product 13D-3000 CTO Touchsmart Ultrabook in the two images below.

  Well, it's a long story, but EDH to; I had problems with my printer works with Win XP. The same problem as now with Win 7.  I have e last driver of Dell, but Win7 says that drivers are up-to-date.  The printer appears in the Device Manager, but has the yellow triangle with (!) to score on this subject.  When I go to troubleshoot, it says it can't find the updated driver on the internet or the CPU.  Win7 says that the printer says that's not covering, check USB port, etc... I uninstalled the driver, let W7 update, and the printer still does not work.  What is the reference for this? Thank you... Corn

  I have a Sony CCD-TRV608 camcorder and can not find drivers for it to work with Windows 7.  I've been on the Sony website and they do not have something there that I can find... most of the options you can choose to say there is nothing available after you select them.   Problem #2 - I do not know what kind of cable I need to connect the camcorder to the computer.  Any ideas?  Thank you very much!

  You will need a USB cable to connect the camcorder to the computer. You can directly connect the USB cable which you would have received with the camcorder and would appear as a plug-and-play device. If you have the software Camcorder installed on the computer, it will directly load the default drivers when you connect the camcorder.

  If the USB generic drivers are unable to load when you connect the camera, check if the camcorder is compatible with Windows 7.

• HP is dropping the ball by not providing drivers for Win 7 machines upgraded to Win 8

  I have a p7-1003w I bought this summer.  I need the machine then, but knew that win 8 coming soon.  I understand "no problem, I'll upgrade when it is released."

  Now I like HP did not have the drivers for my machine to win 8, so with my upgrade, a large part of the features of my PC are inop.

  I called HP support, and after 90 minutes, they decided to blame Microsoft and transfer me to them.

  Of course, MS told me a nice little hidden warning on HP website message, saying that the features of their machines can not work with Win 8.  How interesting that the HP tech did not mention that.

  I can understand not making drivers for older machines, like XP or Vista, etc, but really - HP isn't even bothering to develop drivers for machines to their win 7 - even those purchased a few months ago?

  It is the customer service poor extremely .  Really, really disappointed.

  While on the phone with an extremely useful HP case manager (Alan to the Canada), we were able to download all of the drivers that were released yesterday, and do a Windows Update.  This seems to have fixed my problems.

  Wasn't so sure when they told me they didn't know if the pilots would be provided, but in the end, I'm very happy with the HP customer service.  Alan was very, very helpful.

  1. I upgraded my comp to Windows 7, Ultimate because I need to use many XP programs. What I've discovered, is the virtual XP Mode is not the same thing as XP regular and many programs do not run properly. Particularly theAudio out to lunch and MS GS Wavetable is not available in XP Mode.

  2 - I end up having to buy another XP-Professional and installed in the same notebook. I have to turn off the laptop restart and select the Windows 7 to XP operating system. All old programs work fine under XP.

  3 - I continued looking for a fix for the XP Audio Mode or virtual. Almost 2 years now, I can not find such a simple solution.

  4. today, I found something on the Microsoft RDP Audio driver. What is the reason? Anyone know?

  5. are there available MS drivers or resources?

  I'm not interested in the commercial programs or attempts to scan my computer. MS sold Windows 7 that can run XP so I think that Microsoft is responsible for fixing.
