Object Type display the VM

I'm trying and question where I created a function:

function Get-VMMemoryReservation
{
    [CmdletBinding()]
    param(
        [Parameter(Mandatory=$true,Position=0,ValueFromPipelineByPropertyName=$true)]
        [VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Impl.V1.Inventory.VirtualMachineImpl[]]$VM
    )

    BEGIN {}

    PROCESS
    {
        foreach ($item in $VM)
        {
            $VMResourceConfig = $item | Get-VMResourceConfiguration
            $Hash = [ordered]@{'ComputerName' = $item.Name;
                        'AllLocked' = $item.ExtensionData.Config.MemoryReservationLockedToMax;
                        'ReservationGB' = $VMResourceConfig.MemReservationGB;
                        'ShareLevel' = $VMResourceConfig.MemSharesLevel;
                        'Shares' = $VMResourceConfig.NumMemShares }

            New-Object -TypeName PSObject -Property $Hash
        }
    }

    END {}
}

When to run the function I get the following error:

Get-VMMemoryReservation : Cannot process argument transformation on parameter 'VM'. Cannot convert the
"Server1" value of type "VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Impl.V1.VM.UniversalVirtualMachineImpl" to type
"VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Impl.V1.Inventory.VirtualMachineImpl[]".

This function accepts an object of VM VirtualMachineImpl type which, so far, is the object of VM Type. However, in the latest PowerCLI 6.3 Release 1 this type has changed to UniversalVirtualMachineImpl. A few questions: 1. why and in what version did the change of type and 2. is there a better way to accept an object of Type VM while being compatible with Type of VirtualMachineImpl? I have may cmdlets that I created with this type for the input parameters. Thanks for any input you can give.

Take a look on PowerCLI recommended: correct use of the Strong typing.

It is what explains what you see I think and also explains why it is happenig.

  • . CBV file type displays the content rather that give download options

    I just changed my Web site hosting provider; old and new providers of Linux services.
    My site is scottishcca.co.uk - a site of chess by correspondence - and I use Win7 and 26.0 Firefox.
    There is a page (members/downloads) where members can download files of games of chess and e-magazines - the page is password protected using htaccess/htpasswd which works well.
    Each e-magazine has 4 download links: pdf, zip and pgn all work fine, but cbv does not - it just displays the contents of the file in the browser page. What needs to happen is that the browser should display a dialog box asking if the file should be opened with ChessBase 11 database software (which is associated with the type of file .cbv on my computer - I checked my default program settings). File .pgn type is also associated with the ChessBase 11 database software and working properly - the dialog box allows me to open or save.
    All the links work correctly when I use Google Chrome.
    I'm puzzled - advice please!

    I think I have a solution for this. I went back to my new hosting provider (easyspace) and received this response:
    'Hi Iain,

    I did some research on this for you and have a suggestion for you to try.
    It is possible that Firefox is not to recognize the MIME Type application/cbv, because it is not just a registered IANA MIME Type.
    You could try instead of application/octet-stream, which is a generic MIME Type for non-text files.
    This idea came to me while reading the page at https://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Properly_Configuring_Server_MIME_Types and this document can give you more of an idea of why this does not work in Firefox.
    Can you try this please and let me know how you go.

    I implemented the suggestion of Gerry via .htaccess in my root directory and everything works now (after clearing the cache of Firefox). Maybe you could send Gerry an certificate of ability!

        if (lblError)

  • Casting of object type to aid to more specific

    Hello

    I'm bit stuck in the legacies of the class in my current project. I implement a zero-coupling messaging architecture that uses variant tables to store objects to be cast to sample.

    The good news: it works in general, little we take a peek at some photos

    I tried the script of coulee before using an example that works as expected.

    Shows probe resulting:

    The Message of abstract [14] is cast to the more specific Message for the controller test [15], [9]

    Now, this implementation with the variants table, change things unfrotunately:

    The only thing that apparently changes is, as the class to be cast to a return value of a Subvi (actually reading the table variant) [12].

    As shown in the probe that the casting does not work this time... There is also no error on the terminal error.

    I have to admit, I'm quite confused... especially because in another class this exact methodiolgy works...

    Any thoughts?

    See you soon

    Oli

    Cast throws more specific to the type of object shown on the thread in the IDE, regardless of the type of the actual object passing along this thread (i.e. type of YARN and not DATA type).

    I bet that your wire to the Center terminal of the 'to more specific' is a son of the same type as the object you are trying to change but actually a more specific object.  The 'Cast to more specific"is a compiling decision, not a decision of execution. As such it takes the type of thread, not the object type for the casting.

    Look at the names on the left of your probes, they are all the same in the example below (all wires are nominally of the same type).  It's the onfo LV casting (assuming the names corresponding to the nominal type of the thread) not use content REAL of the wire.

    Shane.

    PS to make things clearer, give each hierarchy in your legacy a different aspect of wire.

  • Generation of object Type method stub body

    Hello

    It is perhaps a little too much, but it would be possible for the generator of file DDL build a method body that will be compiled with a null body? This applies mainly the Oracle 11 g or Oracle database 10g for the DDL generator. The reason for this request is that she would make prototyping go faster. Currently the generator did a good job of creating the object Type and the body of Type object, but if we could have a Null Begin; End; wrapped in the body until we add the code, which would give us a DDL script that would not have to be changed before running in the database. This in turn would allow a half-turn faster trying to prototypes.

    A bit of current sample of the generated code looks like:

    CREATE or REPLACE TYPE t_date_range BODY
    AS
    PROCEDURE of MEMBER set_start_date
    AS
    -PL/SQL blank body
    PROCEDURE of MEMBER set_end_date
    AS
    -PL/SQL blank body
    PROCEDURE of MEMBER validate_date_range
    AS
    -PL/SQL blank body
    END
    ;
    /

    If along with '-empty body of PL/SQL "you could add
    "Start to NULL; END; »

    so the code would look like:

    CREATE or REPLACE TYPE t_date_range BODY
    AS
    PROCEDURE of MEMBER set_start_date
    AS
    -PL/SQL blank body
    NULL BEGIN; END;
    PROCEDURE of MEMBER set_end_date
    AS
    -PL/SQL blank body
    NULL BEGIN; END;
    PROCEDURE of MEMBER validate_date_range
    AS
    -PL/SQL blank body
    NULL BEGIN; END;
    END
    ;
    /

    We have example code which should compile in the right of the box database.

    Thanks in advance,

  • Display object DynamicType under the name of different catalog resource

    When I configure objects of Type dynamic (Veeam, for example) through vRA, they are shown under the type of resource catalogue 'dynamic Types. Is there a way to "draw" these objects to display on a single catalog resource type named "Veeam Backup Job'?

  • Change the Type of the attribute at the request of the View object

    Hi all

    I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.6. I am trying to achieve the following problem.

    My Table has a column of type VARCHAR2, but this field is to store, say, displayed in canonical format "YYYY/MM/DD hh '. I want to show the date in a nice format, as October 30, 12 ' and be able to use the datePicker adf (date. MinValue) on the attribute.

    So I created an entity object, and I changed the type of the attribute of Date String.

    I also created a ViewObject and the test on request module retrieves a date but seems to not understand the canonical format and date it recovers is wrong (something like 5049-02-20 12:45:30.45).

    Since then, I work on EBS I oracle API access and so on, so I changed my query View object;

    SELECT St St myEO.ExpiryDate-> FND_DATE.canonical_to_date (myEO.ExpiryDate) SELECT as displayed in St St. (FND_DATE.canonical_to_date would be the same thing as to_date (date, format))

    When I run AppModule, NICE! It works, it retrieves the date without time and if simple format to give the attribute I can even get the format I wanted.

    The problem is that when I try to update and validate changes to DB, (I replace the doDML so I can analyze my Date to a string with the format YYYY/MM/DD hh: mm: as is supposed to be) I can't even the part update. Complains in the framework;

    Invalid state, another user has changed the line and blah blah blah and the problem is here:

    (oracle.jbo.RowInconsistentException) Houston-25014: another user has modified the line containing oracle.jbo.Key [592674 primary key].

    [178] compare entity did not attribute display
    [179] original value: 2013-06-28 (that I ran with my FND_DATE.) Procedure CANONICAL_TO_DATE)
    [180] target value: 5048-02-21 22:47:53.0 (I guess that the automatic distribution or conversion of the original string)
    OracleSQLBuilder [181]: ROLLBACK WORK point registration "BO_SP".
    [182] DCBindingContainer.reportException: oracle.jbo.RowInconsistentException

    Any suggestion? I'd really appreciate it.

    Edited by: Alejandro T. Lanz on 1st November 2012 06:34

    Well, in short :):
    When you try to update the line, frame checks the data in db and cached (from the entity object) value is different from the db value (because you Date and String objects), so that it will throw oracle.jbo.RowInconsistentException exception.

    like I said with ADF BC, we never explicitly close the DB connection (framework takes care for this).

  • Access displays the objects within a class defined in a swc file?

    Is it possible to access display objects within a class defined in a swc file?

    To reproduce the problem:

    Step 1. I've set up a very simple FLA with an object defined in the library with the AssetView class:

    package

    {

    import flash.display.MovieClip;

    SerializableAttribute public class AssetView view extends

    {

    public var loader: MovieClip;

    public void AssetView()

    {

    Super();

    trace ("here it is:", charger);

    }

    }

    }

    In this object is a MovieClip with instance name loader. If the object is on the scene when the file is exported, you will see the trace:

    It's here: [object MovieClip]

    Step 2. I used Flash for publishing a swc, called "loader.swc".

    Step 3. I created a new actionscript project in Flash Builder and added "loader.swc" on the way to build ActionScript, the library, with the Type of link: merged into the code.

    Step 4. I instantiated "AssetView":

    var assetView:AssetView = new AssetView();

    I saw the trace:

    It's here: null

    --------

    I tried to delete the project actionscript AssetView class where it became priority during class with the CFC, but I still see no sign on the MovieClip.

    So, my question is, display objects are not accessible in the swc?

    + 1 for siniouse. The class definition does not contain the charger of the instance, but the symbol in the library only. If you need to

    var view: AssetView new MyLibrarySymbolLinkageName() as AssetView;

    What he says is quite likely to happen to you, but I thought I would add my 2 cents in the matter contributed to the clarification.

    Uninstall the trial version, and then install the CD-ROM version.

  • How to pass the number object type to bind the variable in a select statement

    Hello

    I have a scenario like,

    Is it possible to do so.

    If this isn't the case, please let me know how to take the values of object type and pass to the select query.

  • How to fill the value in the nested table by using the object type

    Hi gurus

    I created an object type and able to fill the values in it, now I want to create a nested table type of this object and fill it but looks like I'm doing something wrong, see my code below.

    Code example

    CREATE or REPLACE TYPE countries_o
    AS
    OBJECT
    (
    COUNTRY_ID TANK (2 BYTES),
    COUNTRY_NAME VARCHAR2 (40 BYTE),
    REGION_ID NUMBER);
    /

    create or replace type countries_t is table of the countries_o;

    /

    CREATE OR REPLACE

    ABC of the PROCEDURE

    IS

    v_print countries_t; -: = arr_countries_t('01','Aus',1);

    BEGIN

    v_print: = countries_t('01','A',11);

    DBMS_OUTPUT. Put_line (v_print. COUNTRY_ID | v_print. COUNTRY_NAME | v_print. REGION_ID);

    END;

    /

    Error

    • Error (6.3): PL/SQL: statement ignored
    • Error (6,12): PLS-00306: wrong number or types of arguments in the call to 'COUNTRIES_T '.
    • Error (7.3): PL/SQL: statement ignored
    • Error (7.32): PLS-00302: component 'COUNTRY_ID' must be declared

    Thanks in advance

    Concerning

    Muzz

    Hi user,

    Here is another method that you can try-

    CREATE OR REPLACE

    ABC of the PROCEDURE

    IS

    v_print countries_t: = countries_t (countries_o('01','A',11));

    BEGIN

    DBMS_OUTPUT. Put_line (v_print (1).) COUNTRY_ID | v_print (1). COUNTRY_NAME | v_print (1). REGION_ID); -you're accessinf the first element of the nested table, which in turn points to the object.

    END;

    In the sections of the declaration you have assigned values to the nested table.

    Kind regards
    Maxou
