On Droid writable directory

Is any of elsewhere /sdcard writable directory on the droid?  I have a shell open for the droid using adb and can do a mkdir on /sdcard, but no other directory seems to be writable.  I tried all the directories of rw-mounted outside of the SD card.  Thanks for any help.

    BB OS is much older. If you want to work with the use of the modern system of BB10

    as I said, if you need files in writing you will need to use encryption.

  • Cannot transfer Time Machine backups on the new drive

    I store my backup Time Machine on a Seagate 1.5 TB drive when the drive starts giving errors.  I had files on this computer and was able to transfer all except for 2 who were on unreadable sectors.  Fortunately, one of these files was an older archived version that I could afford to give up and the other was a temporary file in the photo library and since all other items were okay, I think I'm good.

    The problem came when I tried to transfer my Time Machine backup of 800 GB for a new disk.  When I copy and Exact-paste (cmd-opt-shift-v) the Backups.backupdb to the new drive, it gets the extent of November 23, 2015 and then dies because reports of the Console to the system, it gets an IO error when you try to read:

    /Library/SystemMigration/history/migration-245250B6-4F52-4FBB-BD61-546A8C19CCD5/ QuarantineRoot/private/var/db/dyld/dyld_shared_cache_x86_64

    in the relevant backup.  And because it's an IO error it simply abandons the whole process so I have no backup from November 23, included, for now.

    Because the disc is unstable, I wasn't able to use disk utility to make repairs on it.  The disc is what is and I have to deal with the mess, that I do not have the disorder, that I would have.

    I tried to manually place the missing files in the database, but the operating system will not let me.  I want to just copy my backup / OS X stop abandonment and be more like Windows and give me the options to "try again" or "fail" instead of just quitting!  I mean, why should I lose my backup all hierarchy of 23 November and beyond, simply because you cannot read a file, a file that I could simply replace in the backup of the current version or you can just ignore it.

    I tried to copy files on and setting xattr on them to be backup items, but they are wrong.  I tried chflags parameter to make the writable directory, but it does not work.  I can't copy the missing files to fix my archives.  Help.

    Please, don't try to transfer backups of a failed drive. Placing the disk aside until you don't know no longer you need the data, then delete and recycle. Start a new backup set on the new drive. For more security, you always have more than one backup.

  • Dxdiag command line has no output

    Hello. I am trying to run dxdiag from the command line to generate a diagnostic output. Dxdiag works fine if I run it without parameters (the GUI appears and I am able to save data). If I run dxdiag from the command prompt with some parameters, the command returns immediately and I get no output file created. The commands I tried are a number of variations on: dxdiag /dontskip /whql: off / t dxdiag.txt. I run the tool at the command prompt is in a writable directory. My OS is Windows 7 64. Thank you.

    Unless you specify the arguments in the correct order on the help dialog box, the command line does not work as expected.  It worked for me:

    Dxdiag /dontskip /whql: wide of 64 bit/t d:\dxdiag.txt

    The command line returns instantly, so wait until the course ends.  You know you had right when Process Explorer shows dxdiag.exe running as a 64-bit process.

    If only dialog help actually mentioned this, could save a few hours of grief ;-)

  • Start problem Gemfire 7 index

    I am trying to start a unique Gemfire 7 Locator on a CentOS virtual machine and start seems to be suspended at one point. I use the following command to start: Start-locator-port = 20003 gemfire after you run this command, I never get the started message I receive when starting a locator of Gemfire 6 (on the same virtual machine) and the command never returns to the shell prompt. If I run gemfire status-locator , I get the message of departure . I raised the level of logging to a fine and attached to the locator.log. I have also attached my gemfire.properties file (I has not changed a lot from default values). Am I missing something?

    It turns out that the culprit is the property of deploy-work-dir. If the directory specified by this property is not a valid writable directory, the locator will hang because it enters an infinite loop because of a bug. This bug will be fixed in GemFire 7.0.1 (next version), but in the meantime, the workaround is to specify a writable directory or do not use this property.

  • not able to connect to the database using the oracle instant client

    Hello

    I am not able to connect to the database using the instant oracle from my local PC client. They use to connect to the database files and sqlnet.ora files LDAP.ora. If I want to test the connection, I found this executable tns wasn't there, so not able to tnsping. So I'm not able to solve this problem.

    Please let me know if a solution for everything

    Thank you

    There is little that tnsping can do sqlplus can't.

    Instead of
    tnsping mydb.myorg.com
    Try
    sqlplus-s-L /@mydb.myorg.com
    or
    sqlplus-s-L user/[email protected]

    If you get
    ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified
    you know that the customer could not resolve 'mydb.myorg.com '.

    If you get
    ORA-12541: TNS:no listener
    then "mydb.myorg.com" could be resolved, but there is no listener it running.

    If you get
    ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor
    then "mydb.myorg.com" could be solved, the listener is in place, and the database is out of service.

    If you get
    ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
    you know that 'mydb.myorg.com' has been successfully resolved, and the database is running.

    If you want more details, such as how and what "mydb.myorg.com" is resolved, turn the tracking by adding the following to "sqlnet.ora:
    TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT = ADMIN
    TRACE_DIRECTORY_CLIENT = C:\TEMP (a writable directory)

    Then you will find lines like this in the trace file:

    -THE INFORMATION SOURCE PARAMETER FOLLOWS-
    Attempt to load system pfile source C:\oracle\network\admin\sqlnet.ora
    Source of the setting successfully loaded

    Attempt to load the local pfile source C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\lanadvall\sqlnet.ora
    The parameter source has not been loaded.

    This shows you which configuration files are read, followed by the settings real read.

  • ApplicationStorageDirectory - best practices for the issue of games

    So, I worked on a game that uses air. My problem is that I've been storing my game resources in the application directory. That would be fine except that the game has a built-in editor that requires the ability to write files. Adobe has locked since ApplicationDirectory for write access, so now I don't know where I'm supposed to store all my game files editable user - which is potentially active ALL game.

    The seemingly obvious choice is to use ApplicationStorageDirectory. While this is not ideal, because it seems that I would need to duplicate all the assets from the inside of the application in the repository at the start, it would provide a standard and easy to find a place to store modifiable game resources.

    However, this article (on this site) clearly tells me that I shouldn't do that. It is a good point. Backup of all game assets is messy proposal. And while I can see users who take advantage of capabilities editting as enjoying the backup, for the average player, that would be a pretty big trouble.

    What am I, so I expected to do in this scenario? I need an accessible place in writing, where the user and the application can easily access all game resources (XML, Image, MP3). I don't want to choose an arbitrary location, and I'm disabled by the application needing home redundantly data just to be copied into the destination directory since there is no way for me to delete it once it is copied since I can't write in the application.

    Thanks for the thoughts.

    Hello

    A couple of things come to mind. Is actually not Adobe that locks the application under Windows directory, it's one thing to MS permissions with folders under Program Files.  But whatever it is, it's always a problem.

    As you said, you can copy files to first launch but depending on the size, this could be annoying after a user just sitting through the installation.  It is also not very friendly when you want to uninstall.  You might want to consider sub launches the installation program with the AIR of a separate setup program that also takes care of installation of game resources to another accessible location in writing.  Maybe it's customizable by the user, but at least she is monitored by the installer that should allow you to uninstall properly.

    Is it not possible to conserve resources with your application, but the editor of the architect such as only content created by the user would be in a writable directory of the user (for example a subdirectory out of their documents folder?)

  • First claims the Directory Cache of media is not found or is not writable.

    First claims the Directory Cache of media is not found or is not writable. I then change the settings of cache on an external drive, then it crashes little matter if I open an existing file or create a new. I have re-installed, removed the preferences etc. Often, when he does not crash, it will say file was created in a newer version of Premiere Pro. Hair loss, please help?

    Very well! So, immediately after my last post, I have solved the problem.

    I deleted the cache files in the default directory "C:\Users\"USERNAME"\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common" then he stopped the fracas.

    It seems there have been updated via the Cloud Creative so this must have caused tragedies with existing project files. If a new facility + deleting files from the cache, then the changed settings of the media places cached seems to help.

    Thanks to those who tried to help!

  • Droid 2 app Motospeak will not work

    So, I am struggling with Motospeak for little less than a week now. I pre-ordered and waited anxiously, the Motorola Finiti not only for its elegant design and looks fancy, but for the characteristics of Motospeak so. Voice commands on my Droid 2 are okay, but I wanted more. So it comes out eventually and I download the new version of Motospeak only to find out that it does not work. I rebooted, no matched and re-paired, uninstalled and reinstalled, and everything suggested the 'big' technicians at Motorola, but nothing helped. The problem is that the voice command works everything and Motospeak does nothing. Help! Any ideas. I tried safe mode and found that Motospeak is not available in safe mode, so you can't test it. I disabled all other applications in the background and deleted a lot to try. Whenever I receive a text, the screen flashes as if it is trying to run Motospeak and to do what it is supposed to do, but nothing happens. I even went so far as to download an another "Motospeak' of drivesafe.ly.com... that told me that I needed a headset Motorola (I have and it has been connected) if it does not either. I am running the latest version of Android and nothing works as it should.

    So the good news is that Motorola technicians has heard what was happening and updated software Motospeak, turns out it was something in the last update from Verizon for the Android software that came. He works now as I wanted... but now it will not read my directory names... it's a problem with the software too as I loaded it on a completely different phone earpiece and it worked. I love Motospeak either way... it's great!

    Hey, anyone know how to control the volume level default for bluetooth devices? Mine is set too low.. and whenever I turn it up, he turns it down. Blessings.

  • Problem writing files in the shared documents directory.

    Hello

    I'm new in the development of the PlayBook. I am trying to create an application that can save image file within the shared documents directory (so another image viewer application can find). Here is my code:

    var file:File = File.documentsDirectory;
    /////////////////////////
    Try to write a file...
    var jpgEncoder:JPEGEncoder = new JPEGEncoder();
    var jpgData:ByteArray = jpgEncoder.encode (bmp);
    file.addEventListener (Event.COMPLETE, onFile_SaveComplete);
    leader. Save (jpgData, filename);

    I got a file save dialog box when I call «file.save (...)» However, once I typed in the name of the file to save and press the 'OK' button, I got the exception like below:

    Error #2044: Unhandle IOErrorEvent:. Text = Error #2038: file IO error.

    to flash.filesystem::File$/getFile()

    to flash.filesystem::File$/get_documentsDirectory()

    .....

    .....

    The same code run perfectly on my desktop, so I wonder if there is some other restriction in OS PlayBook to stop me from saving the file in the shared document directory? So, should I sign my application with certificate?

    [I read the document and understand that 'File.documentsDirectory' must be writable...] May I have I'm misunderstanding... ? ]

    Best Rergards,

    Hey,.

    Welcome to the forums! This has just been discussed in a previous thread of yesterday. Basically, file navigation dialog boxes are unfinished and lead erros weird whenever you try to use a method that requires a browse dialog box. work around right now must use the FileStream class to write your files on the hard disk of the playbook, until all the dialogues are fixed on the platform.

    Here is the link to the previous thread. inside, you will find the work around the code that you can adapt to your needs. also, there is a little more explanation:
