Open a new window, draw rectangles in the window and to communicate between the two windows

I'm going to search for this, but thought I would jump start here in case someone can give me a link or point me in the right direction on how to do while I'm looking.  It is an area of Flex, I've not hit on yet.

Basically, I need to have my flex (AIR Application) application opens a new window, allows the user to draw a rectangle in this new window and then move the info from the box (X and Y, Width and Height) return to the main window.

I've never done any of this and I'll try to find out how, but if someone could point me here until I find it online, it would help a lot, kind of in a lack of time... Thank you.

Sorry I think that I did not read the whole post.

This is an easy way to get a NativeWindow

1. create a MXML component based on the window. (I think that the canvas is by default...)

2. in your main application ( for example..) import the component in my case:

import com.test.components.SendSMS;

3. instantiate the component and open it in a new window:

var mySender:SendSMS = new SendSMS();
mySender.height = 500;
mySender.width = 500;

mySender.open ();

That's all... with all honesty, im not much away from you in the knowledge of the AIR, but people have been warm here and helped me, so I want to give something back.

I hope this helps.

    When I click on the + to open a new window I don't like the images that arise. I tried several times to change that through words: config; Browser.newtab.URL. Thank you

    If Firefox is ignorant preference browser.newtab.url, the usual culprit is an extension.

    You can open the page in Firefox Add-ons using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
      firefox.exe "about:addons"

    In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions. Do not forget that all extensions are optional, none come with Firefox, and you can learn more about them by checking their reviews on the site of the Add - ons.

    Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

  • Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old process of Firefox must be closed to open a new window.

    When I try to open Firefox, I get this message:
    "Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old process of Firefox must be closed to open a new window. »
    I then clicked close firefox, but the problem was solved not so I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but it's the same thing.
    At this point, I went to support Mozilla and tried the steps described in the article, "Firefox is already running but is not responsible for - How to fix error message", but the firefox.exe process was not in the processes tab in windows Task Manager. While he was in the Details tab, when I tried to put an end to the process, I received this message:

    "The operation could not be completed. Access is denied. "

    What can I do to fix this?

    Thank you.

    Usually when you stop and restart Windows, Firefox is not running and can be started normally.

    Firefox is set to start automatically with Windows? Microsoft has a utility to investigate what is set to happen at startup: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

    It is possible that something is triggering a process in your default browser and it is the hanging of Firefox. You can try to change your default browser to IE (IE can offer to do when you start) before the shutdown and restart Windows to see if it makes a difference.

    You can watch this extension:

  • When you open a new window, it automatically loads the last content pop up (?) and I'm unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in the new window.

    I don't know if they are technically pop-up windows (for example, if you perform a search on kayak.com, it will automatically open a new window of priceline.com with the search results), but that happens with Blocker on or off. Other examples are a little info to a financial site window or .edu, which opens a session is about to expire, or answer a FAQ (with the exception of the priceline example, these windows have an address bar or view a URL). In any case, once these windows are closed, if I try to open a new window, it will automatically load the content of this "pop-up". Whenever he does, I'm unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in this window.

    How can I fix it? What I want is to open a new window which is empty, not load the previous contents.

    Hello

    Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

    Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

    Before I updated to firefox 28, I was able to hit cmd + N and it will open a new window with the exact same Web page I was on. Now, he opens a new window with my home page. I guess I got an add-on or extension, but I'm desperate to be able to do it again. Ideas?

  • How to prevent the opening of new windows in firefox? I want ONE INSTANCE ONLY.

    I want to avoid the pop ups, pop unders, etc.. Literally not a single response was appropriate, so I rephrase the question. I want firefox even simply not acknowledge the request to open a new window or tab of the HTML, server, Web site, etc. I don't want to same notify you me, it's not has confirmed the request to open a new window or tab. I NEVER want to see a firefox window or tab or the instance that I have not caused directly via the mouse or the keyboard, and I want it to be COMPLETELY transparent. How do I do that? (I don't like the answer is long or technical).

    Try Tab Mix more.

    The add-on preceding can make some pop-up windows to open in new tabs instead. If you don't want pop - up opens automatically to all, you can set the preference dom.popup_allowed_events to a blank value in Subject: config. You can then open the blocked pop-ups by clicking on the notification icon on the right side of the address bar. You can also allow certain sites to open pop-ups under Options - content - Exceptions.

  • Is it possible to close Firefox after have closed all the windows (and also to open a new window when starting another process of Firefox)?

    Yes, Yes, I know, it's not good to keep open applications when they are not designed to be. I'm sure Firefox has some memory leaks and this does more harm than good, but...
    My computer is not the biggest out there, and to increase the ease of use of my Firefox browser, it would be nice to keep the firefox.exe process opened, even after you close all windows. I know that Firefox is not totally close if there is at least a Firefox-related window opens, but having to open popup window X seems a little extreme to achieve this effect.
    In addition, to allow another window to open, it would be cool for guests 'OH No. FIREFOX IS STILL OPEN' should be replaced by just trying to open a new window, if this feature is enabled.
    So, if it exists, is there a variable config for it, and if it does not exist, it is possible to somehow? I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty if it comes to him; I really want to get what's going on.
    I am running Windows 7 family, if it's important. (I would rather run a different OS, but this is neither the time nor the place...)

    This addon should close all tabs and open a blank tab and stay in the tray like this. or at least have an option like that. So what I have and what you want is met.

  • How can I stop Firefox to return to the previous window, as soon as I open a new window?

    In recent versions of Firefox, whenever I chaque fois que j' ouvre opens a new window, as soon as the window opens, Firefox goes back to the previous window, the one that was on the screen before I opened the new window. This is very irritating and not happened in older versions of Firefox.

    Any suggestions how to solve this problem? Thank you!

    FYI, this isn't a forum threaded, so answers are displayed at the bottom...

    DOM.disable_window_flip is a true/false preference that determines whether a script in a web page is allowed to change orientation between the windows of Firefox (in general, to be in front, or pop-under by making the window from which it was opened at the front).

    By default, this preference is set to true to disable the windows around Web sites to move, but it is possible that the setting has been changed. To view/change this preference, you can use the subject: configuration preferences editor.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the Search box that appears above the listfilter, type or paste the flip and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click dom.disable_window_flip to light it between true and false.

    Edit: Corrected by the post below.

    That may be a problem with the DDE.

    Try to undo and redo Firefox as default browser.

    Make a different browser like IE browser by default and then let Firefox do it again.
