Open your files with an extension of certain

Hey guys,.

It took a lot and I went through a dozen messages, but none of the solutions worked.

What I want (seems quite simple):

When you click on attachents/files with the "abcd" - extension, in

file system/finder/Explorer type apps

or

type of browser/email apps

Open them with my AIR - App (or ask to list 'open with myapp')

and give me the path to the file in the (Air-) InvokeEvent, so I can treat the file in my application.

I wonder if this might not work because of the Simulator or debugging mode.

Here is the XML of the bar.xml:

        application
        The super App

            kb_114x114.png

            bb.action.VIEW
            bb.action.OPEN
            *

I tried in several combinations (only the files: / /, only data_: _ / /... aso, application, reader)

When I run in debugmode,

NativeApplication.nativeApplication.applicationID returns-> com.mycompany.mysuperapp. Debug

So I tried too

just to be safe. Without success.

What I am doing wrong?

Can anyone confirm that it can be done after all - in AIR ?

Thank you.

C.

EDIT:

true

It is added, the air - descriptor.xml

The path is in the call to your app. You can then open the file from this path and analyze XML data. This is the forum of the AIR. Call is the same in all circles, the processing of the invocation is different. Suggesting to navigate the NDK/Cascades forum for more details.

How to open a file with the extension .odg using Vista?

    Hi Defiant503,

Thank you for visiting the forums of answers.microsoft.com.

I did some research and a file ending with .odg is an OpenDocument Document OpenOffice/StarOffice (Ver 2) of graphics by Sun Microsystems, Inc.    This means that in order to open this file, you will need this program to open it.  You will not be able to open this file with Vista.

    I hope this information helps.

I'm trying to migrate data from one PC to another.  The files to be migrated are stored in a file with the extension. MIG.  What do I need to open it?

Records may not have extensions... then you are probably referring to a file with an extension of MIG.  To open it, you will need to know what program is able to distribute files like that.  What program did you use to use to work with files like that?

This is very probably a file compressed with BZIP. You can download a
BZIP for Windows version by http://www.bzip.org/downloads.html
but it is a command line utility and may not be so easy for you to use.

The same program 7-Zip http://www.7-zip.org/ available here could be
a little more friendly. Download the 32-bit version of 7-Zip 4.65.
Once the file is downloaded, double-click it to install 7 - Zip.

When the 7 - Zip file manager opens, navigate to your BZ2 file, select it,
    and click the "Extract".

  • Could not open the file with. EXTENSION of ICA, where can I download this from without having to install all the other stuff that common sites ask you to

looking for a download that will allow me to run a file with a. Extension of the ICA... There's sites but they all want to download their "registry fix" or "speed up your computer" etc.. .i want just the .ica ability... distant help you?

    Hi Trevorcollinge,

File of the Independent Computing Architecture (ICA) used by the Citrix application servers; contains configuration information to connect to different servers; can be connected to a published application or a server's desktop environment.

ICA files can be created with the ICA file creator program or a basic text editor.

You can double-click an ICA file to open the virtual application remote or referenced by the file desktop environment. Note that you must have a Citrix client installed for the file to open correctly.

  • I can't open the files with the extension .wmv either... I use Windows XP

When I receive files with file extension wmv I can't open them?  Why?

    Hottaye,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

You use Windows Media Player to access the .wmv file? If this isn't the case, follow these steps:

    1. save the WMV file on your disk.

    2. then, right click, click on Open withand then click Choose default program.

    3. in the open with dialog box, click Windows Media Player, and then click OK.

In case you don't have it:

    Windows Media Player download

You receive an error message?  Can you play other .wmv files that you do not receive as an attachment?  In Windows Media Player, play a different file that uses the same extension of file name as the file that you were using when you received the error message. If the other file plays correctly, then you try to play the original file may be damaged.

I can't wait to hear back on your part.

  • Opening a file with the extension .allart

How to open or convert a file with the .allart extension into Fireworks MX2004?

    Thank you.

    Laura

    Alex,

It turns out that she didn't know what she was doing. There is no extension .allart. It took until the end of the file itself as part of the file name.

I'm SO sorry for wasting your time. Thanks for the reply.

  • How to open a file with an extension of SPD file?

    Hello

I started a course for which I received some documents in pdf format. I made notes handwritten in a pdf file using my Tablet Samsung Note, I then put in Dropbox to store on my IMAC.

I then tried to open this file on my IMAC, but received a message that Adobe Reader could not open because the file is not supported, or could have been damaged.

Any ideas on how I might be able to work around this problem?

Do I need anything else than "Reader"?

Comments will be warmly received by the novice user

    concerning

"not taken in charge, or could have been damaged."

That's the key. If you use Safari to download a PDF file, it can do so.

Trash the file SPD. It is not repairable.
Download the installation program Adobe Reader FULL here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

Save the DMG to your downloads folder.

    Go to: Mac/HD/Library/Internet Plugins

    Trash the files AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin .

    Empty the trash.

Download AppZapper (it's a free trial version) and install it.
Launch the AppZapper, and then drag the Adobe Reader application to the window.

"Zap" it and nothing else in the window to the trash.

    Empty the trash.

Install the downloaded DMG drive and re-upload the file SPD.
