Opening of the track of a pdf document

I'm trying some type of tracking system when a user opens a pdf file. Is there a way to provide notice or document logging on the server when a pdf document is opened?

The 'audit' feature is enabled default bgy server-side. It can be cionfigured through the LiveCycle administration UI (Services > Rights Management > Configuration > Audit and privacy settings)

Then, you enable 'audit' at the level of policies on the basis of a policy of strategy...

You can use the audit with the strategies of 'Anonymous' access or user specific polcies.

Concerning

I'm filling out a form that is available on a site. When I click on the option to fill out and submit the form 'online' a pdf document is displayed in chrome with the following text

«To display all of the content of this document, you need a later version the viewer PDF.» You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html for further support, go to www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html"

Needless to day, I installed the latest version. I even reinstalled using the link in the message, but nothing helped. Whenever I click on the link to go forward, I get the same message. Question: (i) is it my PC/software (Vista), (ii) is the site where I'm trying to submit the form, or (iii) is it the software acrobat reader. Note that I used successfully the last version to fill out and sign forms.

It is none of them. It's Chrome, which is ignoring Adobe Reader and showing the message.

Solution: just save the document (with the message) to your desktop. Then open it in Adobe Reader. The 'real' should then display.

  • Problem with the display of Adobe PDF documents

Problem with the display of Adobe PDF documents

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium computer

I read all the suggestions and I tried to download several versions of Adobe Reader for Windows 7 and Vista http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/.

Before you download each version, I would delete the current version with uninstalling programs for the control panel.

After each new installation I shut down the computer and restart the computer.

I tried to download the versions with and without going through my antivirus (CA Total defense) running.

After downloading, I thought that the version downloaded successfully.

I have read the help of Acrobat http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-reader-installation-windows.html and followed the instructions.

    None of the above helped.

The problem is that any version of Adobe Reader, download, I can't open a PDF file and read it. Or the drive itself will remain open.

    1. If I try to open the drive from the desktop link or real program menu, the Player opens for 5 seconds and then closes spontaneously. If I try to click on the Player menu (File, Edit, View, window, help, tools), then an alarm will sound and the menu does not open. Soon after, the reader is closed.

    2. If I try to open the drive by double clicking on a PDF file then the Player opens but the document is not displayed (only the grey player screen PDF is specified), then the drive closes after 5 seconds on its own.

The desktop shortcut shows like 'red icon Adobe Reader'. But the real program menu icon shows as empty a folder icon. All documents in PDF format displayed as Adobe PDF icon.

I tested several PDF files and none will open on this computer, but they will open on other computers.

I created a word document and saved as a PDF file. It looked as if it had record properly (a the appropriate icon) but when I try to open it according to point 2 above the document is not displayed and then then the drive closes after 5 seconds on its own.

Anyone have any ideas on what is happening and how can I fix?

Could you please respond in this forum and send me an email at [deleted]

    I'm so confused and frustrated.

I would try Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement

  • Change the fonts in a PDF document

    Hello!

I would like to change the font on a PDF document, because I have to agree with some parts of it (copy in a .doc or similar)

The problem is when I do, the original font is not recognized by word processing (strange symbols).

I m trying to change the font in Adobe Acrobat Pro, but I can´t the change. the program says that (not exactly, its in Spanish)

"The change of police did not because the font chosen and the codification of fonts document´s are different and it cannot be resolved."

By clicking on properties pdf´s, I see these fonts:

    R11

    R277

    R677

All of them are 'customize' codification and type 3.

I hope that some in this forum could help me, I really need to extract text from this PDF file for work stuff.

Thank you and sorry for my bad English...

I don't know that I want to go into that. Sorry if I missed your original message. At the time wherever I went down to where I answered, I forgot some details. One thing you might try is to save in TIFF format at 300 or 400 dpi of resolution. Open the TIFF in Acrobat, can do an OCR to recover fonts. If it's a file as you suggest, then it must convert the fonts to something useful.

Otherwise, you either need to download a copy of the font in the PDF if you can find or try fonts different variations. Provide information on the types of policies that you found might help. This is where the question of Type 3 fonts was raised. Type 3 bitmap fonts are characteristic of the old systems of LaTeX and TeX. Today, most of these systems use vector fonts of Type 1.

If you could post an example page where you are having problems, maybe other suggestions could be made more timely.

If I missed something else in all of your messages, I'm sorry. The message that I am answering is only present as I answer.

  • Edition of the "Description" in the properties of a PDF document

First, add me to the growing list of people who do not like the redesign of DC version. It sucks. Period.

Also, there no need to ask me where I want to save a file that is already open! And then it gives a traditional save as dialog box after this window. (GISH, it doesn't have to be difficult.) He quit.)

    Anywho, back on topic...

I am an independent designer and am constantly editing Description of rendering PDF properties so that the title is not reading things like "Manufacturing_Brochure_design_Type1_v2.indd" and deleting myself as the author to leave the field empty for the customer to fill out. When I go to change these, it does not change at all since the update. Is there something that I am missing?

Also would like to know where to change the display settings for a document (which was in the same properties box) is so page does not open in the default size ~ 145%. 100% or move Page is nice looking thankyouverymuch, but no longer has this option?

Ongoing CS5.5 all programs, if it is no help at all. Any advice on this problem are appreciated. Thank you!

Yes. The free software Acrobat Reader doesn't have this capability.

Also not available in the player. You can change your own point of view.

And that's your answer. The suite comes with the full version of Adobe Acrobat. You must open your pdf in that. Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is not a update/upgrade to the full version of Acrobat.

  • Commenting on the Track & send a PDF file

    Hi all

I'm looking for Adobe Reader DC, I want to be able to follow and send the document by using the Pack of PDF from Adobe. Can someone tell me, is it possible for the person that I send the document to add comments and signatures to the document, if the end user has the track and send Adobe PDF Pack?

Also, is it safe it or I can password protect the file?

    Thanks in advance,

    Wes

If the person so that you send the PDF file has CD player, then he or she should be able to add comments, digital signatures and use the functions of filling and signing. Please see the FAQ here: https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/faq.html#faq_faq_1

  • How to convert specific images on my Clipboard to text once paste the picture on my .pdf document?

Hey Adobe experts, I could really use your help.

I have some screenshots of school I pasted on OneNote. These screenshots have a large amount of text that I could use. I created a large .pDF document where I saved my notes and text. Now - how to convert the SPECIFIC images that I stick to the text document? I use the word 'Specific' here because I know I can run OCR on a blank page without any text. But how to do OCR on an image

It automatically happened a couple of times when I tried to save the document immediately after I pasted the image - when I was under "Edit PDF" I was able to edit and change the fonts of the text. But how can I do this at will? Is there a special button somewhere?

P.S. I already tried to OCR - but it's only limited to pages without already "renderable text".

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC; 8.1 Windows machine

    Hi SinNombre,

If you are referring to perform OCR on a page with the image and the renderable text, it is not supported. However, you can use the following workaround for the same thing:

    1. print the PDF document to Microsoft XPS Document Writer or accessing the file-> export to...-> Image-> (an example of TIFF or PNG format)

2 convert the output created in PDF format. This PDF file contains all the texts and images in the form of images.

    3. run the OCR on this PDF.

    This should solve your problem

  • How can I change the text in a pdf document using an embedded font?

I'm trying to edit text in a pdf document where the text is in a (Nimbus San) embedded font, but when I try to add some text in the text box, it appears in Minion instead of the police of San Nimbus. I don't understand why I can't change by using the embedded font.

The fonts are licensed assets subject to single use. They are not intended to share, redesigned, etc..

As part of the PDF standard that they included in a document so that the document can be considered reliably without the police be installed on the viewing station.

To change you must have fonts installed on your computer. The possibility for the second parties to use the police violate the licensing of fonts.

  • How can I change the text in a PDF document?

I am new to all creation of PDF files "to be completed. How can I change the font or add text to a PDF file or is this even possible?

    Hi my witch beloved tabby,

I see that you have Acrobat Pro subscription, so you can add or edit text in a PDF document. Here are some great resources for you, as well for adding and formatting text and edit form field properties:

Acrobat help. Change the text in PDF files

Adobe Acrobat X Pro * modify form field properties (also applies to Acrobat XI)

Please let us know how it goes.

  • Is there a maximum limit on the fields in a PDF document?

I am bulding a PDF document, basically a graphic frequency, with fields that will be filled by the user under development tool. The tool will calculate a set of rate and then fill in the PDF document with these values. The document that I'm getting is 5 pages, with fields probably 3 or 4 thousand. The I add more fields. slowly the bonding process is over. I was wondering if there was a maximum. I'm afraid that it's going to blow up!

One thing that can really slow things down is the adjustment automatic tab order than Acrobat when editing of the fields. This should be a feature, but it is really counterproductive. Acrobat 11 allows you to turn this off, which can have a considerable positive effect when there are a lot of fields. In my opinion, this new feature and other improvements with regard to defining tab order make the upgrade price worth it.

You can also disable the following preferences: Edit > Preferences > forms > Preview field when creating or editing form fields

    but it has less effect.

  • How can I create a book index in the back of Acrobat PDF document

We want to be able to generate indexes of book to print PDF documents. Some of our PDF files are 300 pages, so it is difficult to navigate in their impression. We accuse Acrobat 9 Standard.

Wow! Big question that I have not heard before, much less seen it before, but apparently there is a third party tool that tries to do this from an existing PDF. I've never heard of this tool before today then try and see if it works for you.

Acrobat can't do that and I don't think that the LiveCycle products for this either.

  • Connection to the base of a pdf document

Create your form in LiveCycle Designer.

  • How to configure the nonprinting elements on PDF document.

    Hello world.

I am trying to create a PDF document with background elements including the background color, images and some geometric elements that I want to be displayed when the document is displayed on a computer screen, but that do not appear when teleworkers is printed.

How can I configure the PDF so that some elements are visible but not printable?

    TIA,

    Joe.

PS: in case the information is relevant, I'm under Acrobat version 9.5.3.

Yes, the layers is quite accurate. A background that you add with Acrobat is a layer, it just appears in the layers navigation panel. Creating the InDesigner layer is even better than what I suggested. Once you have it in Acrobat you can set it to be visible, but not print.
