Optical flow

I can't tell any difference between the three types of Interpolation of time in the new Clip speed dialog box.  They all playback in real time.  My experience with other technologies of optical flow, as in Twixtor is that it takes some time CPU for the effect to calculate the vectors of movement before producing output smooth of time performed.

At 25%, all my tests look jerky, as if no mixture or interpolation going on at all.

I'm doing something wrong?

Hi Jim,.

To see the effect of optical flow (as well as interpolation), the clip must be made. Without rendering, during playback it is up to the sampling method of the frame which is simply duplication frames, which explains the appearance of stuttering. When you return, you will see the results of whatever the chosen interpolation method. Note the red bar above the clip; This makes it fast to press ENTER to display the section.

  • There is no option of optical flow on my png image sequence clip, I looked in the video clip and speed/duration options. interpolation of time is not an option?

I am trying to extend my clip (which is a sequence of png images) using optical flow, the clip runs better.

When I right click on the clip - go to the speed/duration, there is no list drop-down option for optical flow, or an option for time interpolation.

I also went to clip - video options, but there was no interpolation time or option of optic flow there.

    Please can someone find me?

I use adobe first pro cc 2015

It should be under effects/time/time warp. I found the easiest way is to add it to an adjustment layer in AFX.

  • First Pro CC updated with the optical flow?

Since around November, Premiere Pro has been updated with optical flow, what I'd really like. My application was not being updated, yet, I wonder why? Current build 9.0.2 (6) and I can't force update, it says that it is up-to-date. It is impossible.

  • Smooth slow motion / 'Optical Flow"... best average in first CC?

I used an optical flow a bit in FCPX, it really helped me. And I remember After Effects, used to have the same 'high quality' time (have not used AE in years), but I'm surprised, nay shocked, that we not have that in the first... I tried using Twixtor but find it very which is less intuitive (unless I use it wrong)... Twixtor seems to change to the point of my clip and I have to manually drag and drag the clip to "re-find" good point. What should I do more? I must say, Optical Flow in FCPX is mild enough to add just that little extra break at the end of a heavy soundbite, etc...

    Thank you

set a keyframe on the first frame of your clip and adjust the speed of twixtor to 100%. We'll get a style of optic flow effect in the next update which will be released this fall I think.

  • Mix of framework (optical flow) Composition, so I did not collapse Transformations?

    Hello

So I think I get that if you want to time a model, you must define pixel motion for images in the preComp then collapse Transformations and assign Pixel Motion, because you can not FrameBlend a model more.

But what happens if I don't want to do that, because it would break other animations?

Is the only way to use the time warp effect?

Is there an easy way to link with time-remapping, so it can be applied to a existing built, comp time remapped with pre nested compositions using effects, I don't want to collapse?

Or is it a new way of thinking.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on this subject?

    TRIS

because you can not FrameBlend a model more.

to my knowledge, there has never been an option to use the native frame of mixture for a demo. only for images.

If you want to time stretch a model, you must define displacement of the pixels for images in the preComp then collapse Transformations and set it to the displacement of the pixels

If you want to use the native mix frame (temporal, time remapping) then YES

But what happens if I don't want to do that, because it would break other animations?

Is the only way to use the time warp effect?

You can always make you composition and re - import (also called prerendu) and now it's pictures you can use native on interpolation. If you do not use Timewarp, you can also use a plugin of 3rd party like the critically acclaimed Twixtor - RE: Vision Effects . If you need control actually more, even if you have a merge option setting, you would use Timewarp or 3rd party plugins.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on this subject?

TimeWarp and Twixtor - more than you can count. on TW-, it's my personal workflow:

    1. Firstly - I put the timeline to display pictures and not in seconds

    2. then I add layer time remapping

    3. Add the effect of TW and set it to executives, not speed

  • Optical display of AVI file stream

    Hello

I'm tring to display vectors of optical flow. AVI file. I work in the "Optical Flow.vi" example. I can't the optic to display flow vectors. To check if I have the right image formats, I've set up poster on the Panel before the 'current' and 'previous image', which are the inputs to the optic flow calculator. At the bottom of these views of the image, it is possible to see the image type. For some reason any "previous image" image continues to change its image type on the different loop iterations. In the current configuration, it is a 8-bit gray scale (as it should) for the 5 iterations 1 and pass then to an empty image of LGV. I don't understand why this is happening. I guess that's the reason that the optical flow vectors are not displayed correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Oscar.

The distribution of your image is messed up.  It must be remembered that they are pointers, not data.  You must use the current image from IMAQ copy of copy of the previous image instead of feeding in the shift register.  You probably have another image to the destination image when you convert your AVI image in grayscale.  Now, you convert the original image to AVI, so next time you read the file AVI it forces to match the format of the image (grey levels).

  • OR VDM 2011 Pptical flow: vectors of values of single table?

    Hello

I use optics algorithm of Vision (2011 and LV2010 VDM) functionality and the optical flow "nine."

    1. I would like to get the values of optical flow, but the only way out is the component vector images. These images contains travel information? I tried ImagetoArray, but during this operation the vectors then disappears from the overlay image (in the code example of vision)

I don't have this problem while pursuing a feature with the feature of optic flow followed the example. This works well until the particle is not completely black and tiny.

    2. What is the expected against the gradient of greylevel size should reach the limits of the algorithm?

The documentation is a little 'light' on the subject.

  • "Workflow" for Slow Motion DSLR

Hi, I've been experimenting with the creation of idle smoothly in a calendar of 1080/25 and questioned on the best workflow. (I used a Canon 70 d, stipulating that 50 frames per second at 720)

So: Chronology 1080/25 Pro Res FCP7 (majority of the 1080/25 source footage)

I want to add a short section of idle and for that I shot in 720/50 - but of course it is made at 25 frames per second when added to the timeline and playback is stuttering when 50% of the speed value.

So I sent the clip (at 50%) to 4 Motion and applied optical flow - this provided a smoother playback

(I tried to optical flow on a clip of 1080/25 to 50% but reading stuttered slightly)

I just wanted to confirm if it is the best workflow for idling smoothly.  Also when I tried to apply the optic flow on a second Motion 4 already 'optic flow"selected clip, but when I clicked on that nothing happened - I had to close out Motion and start over with the clip under a new name.

  • Slow Motion video using After Effects

    Hello

I got 10 seconds a clip timeline in first. I sent by right click 'Replace with AE composition' after effects.

I have apllied TimeWarp with 50% of the speed to the element in AE.

The first clip is always step 10 sec. It means that he slowed down video that contains only 5 seconds of the original. I expect that the final video in first will be 20 seconds because 50% of the speed has been used.

    What I am doing wrong?

The eccentric nature of making slow movement with After Effects has long been problematic.

You can probably get the same quality inside PP right using the optical flow method.

  • GTX1070/1080. Compatible with Premiere Pro

I've heard say that the GTX 1070/1080 with first Pro CC 2015.3 problem. But the nVidia driver which has been updated several times released 10xx GTX series. So it solves the problem for first pro? I decided to buy the new graphics card then solve the problem. I wonder this situation. I just wonder that...

    1. is it possible to make any optical flow with time remapping clear?

    2. it is clear using Lumetri?

    3. any other situation on Cuda?

    Sorry for my English.

On my system with an i7-5960 x and edition of 1080 founders, I'm having no problem with screens ranging from black (which is what I think you were making allusion to the #3). I use the 368,69 drivers.

In my last spot, I also used the optical reflow and it seemed to work fine.

Have not used the scopes of lumetri, so I can't say.

The performance seems no better than the 980ti, so they may need to tweak the first to take advantage fully of the 1080.

I also use this system for Cinema 4 d, and I'm waiting for new pilots of Iray then this card a bust until what they update their. Suppose that there is always a risk with new technologies.

    Hope that helps.

  • No connection directly into Premiere Pro 2015.3

Hi all use first pro for several years now and just upgraded to the latest 2015.3 update. Every thing seems to be good without any problems during the update until I had to do a color grading. To my surprise I found that there is no longer an option to send my first pro time line to rank speed with direct link. in fact it has no direct link option in the menu. to add that you can not open 2015,3 project files within the category of speed either. Is this just isolated to me or others with the same problems? If so have a fix is better than export my project working on color, then export again. I really like the integration of direct link and it's a pain with it.

Alternatively one has original first pro 2015.2 downloads so I can I downgrade again.

I tried installing creative cloud of first pro 2015 but it lacks a few features that I use every day such as optical flow under the menu speed

    any help welcome

    Thank you

    Hi ToolzVFX,

    You're not alone.

This isn't a problem; It's normal. Direct link is no longer available in Premiere Pro 2015.3. If you have any comments, please share it here: feedback form

  • Speed and time Interpolation

    Hello

When I want the speed of the ramp of a clip that I turn the optic flow or is it important?

The two are connected in any way?

    R

    Phil

    Hi Phil!

Great question! After some tests, I think I have an answer.

    (1.) I did a simple ramp speed from 100% to 25%.

2.), I exported the clip Apple ProRes 422 Quicktime and selected optical flow in unrolling time interpolation.

(3.) the results were identical to an identical export using default sampling time Frame Interpolation.

(4.) the solution I found was to select the clip, and open the Clip speed / duration (CMD + R) and change the Interpolation of time elapse optical. YOU NEED NOT CHANGE THE USE OPTICAL FLOW SPEED.

5.) I have this exported to Quicktime Apple ProRes 422 (no need to change the Interpolation of time) and it worked!

Hope that answers your question. Give it a try! Thrilled to hear how it works for you.

  • Frame Blending: possible to interpolate only the additional frame?

    Background

    • I'm scanning Super 8 (18 fps) film as a practice for digitizing 8mm (16 fps) film
    • I scan the movie using my Epson V700, 35 images at once, 8 mm x 150 mm, 6400 dpi.
    • I penetrate each sweep of the individual images, saved as TIFF, using Actions in PS.
    • The TIFF is lined up in After Effects. I use tracking, with the holes in the gable as the feature.
    • Individual, now lined up, images are rendered out of AE as Tiff files.
    • Then they are introduced in the first as a Tiff sequence, interpreted to fps 17,982, for insertion in a 23.976 chronology.

    Super 8 film

First six adds frames every second in the modes as described below. Figures represent frames: D , a duplicate frame.

    Mix out of the frame

When interpolation is off, every third image is repeated in this model:

    Type A: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 D D D

Not too bad, but it's a bit choppy.

    Fusion frame on

I turn on the interpolation and get this pattern (where "" means an interpolated image):

    Type B: 6 9

I guess you'd say it's smoother, but it's not rosy. Single image in four is original. This process could be called interpolation, but I call it blur. I copped a final degradation of sharpness, asking for a sweetness.

    Downloadable file

If you want to see the effect of the interpolation on simulated movement, a zip file can be downloaded here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/download/sdh2yp5jq620ds7/Frame_Blend_Test.zip

The project of creating inside has two layers in the timeline: the Summit is without mixture, the bottom with the merger. The result may seem OK for the simulation, but when applied to real images, the resulting video is blurred. It may be slightly more fluid, but it is really blurry.

    My idea

I'd rather widely if Interpolation interpolated only the extra frame and gave to this model:

    Type c: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 of • •

In this way, I have three original images, followed of the interpolated image. My theory is that 'C' must give a result smoother than 'A' and a sharper result than 'B '.

    QUESTION

Is it possible in first, by an appropriate framework, to achieve the Type 'C' interpolation '?

I am not very interested in the use of optic flow, Timewarp, or the effect of remapping time, due to the huge amount of modification image which is reached, which may cause other problems (see Re: Tiff sequence: 30 frames per second instead of 23.976 - a problem?).

    8mm Film

The foregoing may seem a bit academic - trying to get the last bit of Super 8. Not so academic when it comes to 16mm, because to go from 16 fps to 24 fps, every second image has to reproduce: 1 2 D 3 4 D 5 6 D.

With interpolation to offshore, which certainly will look jerky. With the tween, blur effect is the problem. I'm looking for a medium-term:

    1 2 3 4 5 6 • •
