    Hi all

    I'm working on windows 64-bit (local system, test)

    Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0 - 64 bit Production

    With partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options

    my database worked fine, I was copying export hard to 'B' dump(exp/imp) 'A' (external) disk, it was urgent that I gave a table for import (imp) 'A' hard drive that had the original dump.

    table import stopped with ORA-03113: end of file on communication channel

    I thought it would be because I gave import when the copy was going on, later when I took end copy gave the same table for import, this time also, I am getting same error.

    When I tried to connect as user 'test' gives me the error ORA-01033.

    To add more I study / practiced 'Audit in Oracle', yesterday system table space became full, exported 'IDL_UB1$' and truncated it.

    Please let me know if I need to provide more information, also help me to solve this problem.

    Not only await a response fast on a public forum from volunteers, but you want to help on a mistake that only that support can help out you. And also, you made a mistake in truncating IDL_UB1$ table. I really wonder why you did.

    If you get help from the support, I hope that you have a valid backup in your hands.

  • Linux compared to Windows XP issue - ORA-07445 10 g 10g: exception encountered

    I did a full database export using exp in a base of Linux 10 g:

    Linux version:

    I have installed Oracle 10 g on Windows XP:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Prod
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    "CORE     10.2.0.1.0     Production"
    TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    The version of Windows XP is:
    System:
        Microsoft Windows XP
        Professional
        Version 2002
        Service Pack 3
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU
     6300 @ 1.86GHz
    1.86 GHz, 3.25 GM or RAM
    I did an import complete database after you create storage space required database 10g on Linux to Windows.
    On the database 10g for Windows, I put maximum SGA size to 1300 MB and the size of the Total SGA to 1000 MB. I put the overall target of PGA at 500 MB.

    This Windows box will be used by more than 2 developers for a change to our application that isn't backward compatible (with respect to the database) with earlier versions of the application that uses the database. Asked me to create this so we could develop this branch without affecting the rest of the development team working on further improvements on the Linux machine.

    I then ran a few packages that update data to a set of tables. It passes through a code that has a lot of data, so I have discovered all of the problems.

    At a specific time in the execution of these packages, I get the following error:
    ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [ACCESS_VIOLATION] [_qkkIsOJKey+299] [PC:0x1E58F73] [ADDR:0x80] [UNABLE_TO_READ] []
    I have read the trace file and isolated to a single, somewhat complex query. I tore the request into smaller requests, trying to isolate what was causing the problem. Whenever the memory image occurred, I could get simply by closing the connection and open a new connection. In my tests, I found the specific query that triggers the exception and a less effective version of this query that does not cause the exception. Please note that this exception has never happened on the Linux machine (or if it is produced on the basis of data of production or beta), and the code has been implemented for nearly 2 years.

    The code that causes the problem:
    SELECT UNIQUE
           oc.ogc_case_id AS oc_ogc_case_id,
           ogc.ogc_number AS ogc_number
      FROM (SELECT SUBSTR (REPLACE (afd.field_text, '-', '' ), 1, 6 )    AS ogc_number
              FROM ewoc_hw_snap.activity_field_data afd
             WHERE afd.afdcd_activity_field_data_key = (SELECT afdc.activity_field_data_key
                                                          FROM ewoc_hw_snap.activity_field_data_codes afdc
                                                         WHERE afdc.name = 'Case Number'
                                                       )
           ) ogc
      LEFT OUTER JOIN lct_snap.ogc_cases oc
            ON oc.ogc_number  = ogc.ogc_number
    The code that returns the same data, only slower and does not raise the exception:
    SELECT UNIQUE
           (SELECT oc.ogc_case_id FROM lct_snap.ogc_cases oc WHERE oc.ogc_number = ogc.ogc_number ) AS oc_ogc_case_id,
           ogc.ogc_number AS ogc_number
      FROM (SELECT SUBSTR (REPLACE (afd.field_text, '-', '' ), 1, 6 )    AS ogc_number
              FROM ewoc_hw_snap.activity_field_data afd
             WHERE afd.afdcd_activity_field_data_key = (SELECT afdc.activity_field_data_key
                                                          FROM ewoc_hw_snap.activity_field_data_codes afdc
                                                         WHERE afdc.name = 'Case Number'
                                                       )
           ) ogc
    I ran both queries with SQL Developer 3.0.04 version. Developer SQL gives the error message: no more data to read from socket

    Any ideas?

    The above query is simple I could pare to raise and then solve the problem. The patch package is not as simple as the second query above since there is more than one column of data that I must return from the lct_snap.ogc_cases table. In any case, I wouldn't have to give up using the LEFT OUTER JOIN. There must be something wrong with the database of Windows. I didn't patch the Windows database without checking first on this forum to see if anyone had less intensive alternatives.

    I searched and found so many messages with the ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [ACCESS_VIOLATION] error, that I realize this is a somewhat generic error message.

    Further investigation suggests that the problem is with your 'default' policy, which is using BASIC_LEXER.  Recognition language uses the features of AUTO_LEXER, and it seems to be necessary to specify explicitly in your strategy:

    Try this instead:

    exec ctx_ddl.drop_preference('my_lexer')
    exec ctx_ddl.drop_policy('MY_POLICY')
    DECLARE
        x   ctx_doc.language_tab;
    BEGIN
        ctx_ddl.create_preference('my_lexer', 'AUTO_LEXER');
        ctx_ddl.create_policy('MY_POLICY', lexer=>'my_lexer');
        ctx_doc.policy_languages (    policy_name   => 'MY_POLICY',        document      => 'Good Morning all. Test Oracle 12c Text features',        restab        => x);
        dbms_output.put_line('x: ' || x(1).language || '-' || x(1).score);
    END;

    This is certainly a bug, but this seems to work around the problem.

    Please suggesst on it.

    You are using an older version of oracle who gets no support from oracle.

    Upgrade your version of the database as soon as possible in GR 11, 2 or 10 gr 2, which is the only solution.

    Hello
    HR91, 8.52 tools, database ORACLE 11 g R2, I have this error in oracle alertlog:

    Looking at the list of application folders are more interesting when you talk about jobs, unless some AppEngine uses a CI for example. But I think most great would be AppPackage HRS_APPLICANT_TRACKING.

  • ORA-01013 EXCEPTION WHILE OTHERS - behavior Undokumented?

    Hello!

    I tried to look around to find documentation on this subject, but I couldn't, so I ask here:

    As far I can understand the EXCEPTION of Oracle Documentation while OTHERS must catch not taken Exceptions supported everything!

    But then I stumbled on ORA-01013 is cancelled by the user. And who slips up WHILE OTHERS just

    DECLARE
      e_cancelled EXCEPTION
    ;
      PRAGMA EXCEPTION_INIT
    (e_cancelled, -1013);
    BEGIN

    BEGIN
        RAISE e_cancelled
    ;
      EXCEPTION

    WHEN OTHERS THEN

          -- All Exceptions should be logged here, but starting with Patch 11.2.0.4.0

           -- WHEN OTHERS is NO LONGER TRIGGERED :-o what to do???
          DBMS_OUTPUT
    .PUT_LINE('EXCEPTION OTHERS');

    END;

    EXCEPTION

    WHEN e_cancelled THEN

        -- The Exception has to be handled individually
        DBMS_OUTPUT
    .PUT_LINE('EXCEPTION CANCELLED');
    END;
    /

    My research led me to the Oracle Changelogs, that show with the last update "ORA-01013 is not caught by OTHERS more»

    So this seems to be be desired (although undocumented?) behavior... https://support.Oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?ID=12838063.8

    My Question:

    We use detailed error logging and tracing in our data base, capture of logging and reraising errors THEN having "than OTHERS"
    is there a setting or parameter to let the Manager WHEN OTHERS catch this exception, or do I have to change hundreds
    packages to insert an extra WHEN ORA-01013 in each method?

    Outside the logging of errors, what is with the closing of cursors, freeing resources? Because there is no block finally in

    PL/SQL, I usually use BEGIN, EXCEPTION, END as a try-catch block and cleaning after the exception block, but when

    a timeout occurs, will be simply ignored all this code cleaning?

    Post edited by: FalcoW Link to Oracle Changelog for a better understanding when the change occurred.

    Ok... Oracle confirmed Support:

    1. This is the desired behavior, that WHEN OTHERS catches all exceptions (i.e. ORA-01013, ORA-31013, ORA-...)

    2. you are not supposed to catch - if the user cancels (or a session Times Out or JDBC accident) you should not connect anything, or do any cleaning... because the immediate release requested customer, you must immediately leave - even if it breaks your data.

    3. There is no work around known, except intercepting explicitly any special exceptions (which are not completely documented and may change at any time in the future)

    then... unlucky :-/

    Go to the directory path and look for the relevant trace or incident file.
    On my system, I can see something like this:

    ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [evaopn3()+656] [ACCESS_VIOLATION] [ADDR:0x0] [PC:0x234A5B6] [UNABLE_TO_READ] []

    Copy / paste this line into the ORA-00600/ORA-07445 on My Oracle Support search tool and search for your version.
    Read this article:

    * ORA-7445 (evaopn3) [860969.1 ID] *.

    and at the bottom of the page, among the associated bugs known, this one:

    Bug 12724375 : ORA-7445 [evaopn3] XQuery with GROUP BY *.
