"SP2-NNNN" sqlplus messages, while another team of course also use sqlplus. It is necessary to know WHAT was being done.

Werner

"sqlplus / as sysdba" differs internally a 'normal' connection, so test ' sqlplus /@'.

ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor

    Help, please

    Thanks in advance

There are normally 5 reasons an instance to block:

    1. the remote_listener parameter is defined in the file init/sp, but the
    LOCAL_LISTENER is not running.
    2. the instance is not completely mounted.
    3. the instance stops.
    4. the maximum number of simultaneous sessions has been reached.
    5. the node is maximum.

It can happen because of one of the above reasons.

I just tried on my end and found the solution.

And I hope that its working fine now.

  • ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection

    Hello

I'm getting "ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection" error trying to connect to the "PDB". Here are the details of my env and I do:

    Windows 7

My PC to install Oracle 11 g 2 Client (that's how I got this PC). And I already 11 GR 2 installed Oracle software and a local database that is named "ORCL" (whichdesignates currently the stop).

Yesterday, I installed Oracle 12 c (12.1.0) and created ORCL12C (CBD) and a PDBORCL (PDB). I connected to the PDBORCL as SYS and created user 'SCOTT '.

I am able to connect to ORCL12C (PEH) without any problem (SQL * more and TOAD). I can go to PDBORCL (alter session set container = pdborcl) without problem. But I get the error above (ora-12518 am) when I try to connect to the user 'SCOTT' created in 'PDBORCL' using SQL * more or TOAD. I want to connect to the user SCOTT and create objects in schema SCOTT, etc.. I get the same error, even if I try to connect to the PDB as user SYS (alter session command works fine).

I am new to 12 C. So it is quite possible that I'm doing something fundamentally wrong.

    Hello

I think you are the problem of configuring the following listener results:

    >

    1. (SID_DESC =
    2. (GLOBAL_DBNAME = PDBORCL)
    3. (SID_NAME = PDBORCL)
    4. (ORACLE_HOME = u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1)
    5. )
    6. )

    >

as you can see, you have defined an entry static listener for SID PDBORCL. If I read your message correctly, you are CDB Instance SID is ORCL12C and you're PDB is PDBORCL.

So, in my opinion, as part of the configuration is the problem. PDB is saved as a dynamic Service to the Instance that you added

an entry static listener for a non-existent Instance. And so you're static listener overlaying the APB Service dynamic PDBORCL configuration.

and that is why it does not work.

Look at the output of a registerd APB to a listener success:

    lsnrctl status

    ...

    Summary of services...

    Service '+ ASM' a 1 instance (s).

Instance '+ ASM' READY State, has 1 operation for this service...

Installation-) before and during the hostname is localhost.

(-) After the installation, I changed the host name in VMCentOS

From the moment where I changed the host name, nothing starts automatically. In particular, the listener and the database instance does not start automatically.

When I start the listener manually and I try to connect to the instance of database with SQLPLUS I get this error:

ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor

I think that the problem is due host name changed because I have to test and debug the object, re-installed a machine virtual operating system CentOS, re-installed oracle database 11 g and I do not have this problem. The database instance and the listener starts automatically!

Can someone tell me if, maybe, the problem is with the host has changed? ... and why?

P.S.: After changing the hostname I also modified the listener.ora and the tnsnames.ora by changing the HOST with the correct host name.

    Hello

It seems that you don't install Oracle Database Express Edition (XE). If you post this question in the wrong forum.

When you install EA or there is no script that starts the database at startup.

If you wish, you can create by yourself. For example search for instructions to Google how to create script.

    Kind regards

  • ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently in service

I installed Oracle Database 11 g and I can access jet database SQL Plus and everything ok, but when I install developer Oracle 11 g and when I try to connect from the form of database, I can't.

and when I go to the Network Configuration Wizard and add the connection I find this error "" ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently of service requested in connect descriptor "and when I check the service all the Oracle service works very well."

I need help to solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

I think that your installation of forms is not configured properly again to connect to the database.

Try to connect to sqlplus in forms_home with the name of the service, if you can connect to the database from there, you will be able to connect using forms also.

You have netconfiguration manager in you installation of forms, you can use it to add an entry of tns for your database

You can post your tnsnames.ora content of $ORACLE_INSTANCE/config

    Please see the thread {: identifier of the thread = 1091615}

    Hello

First check that your asm is listening on listening port scan. If it is installed by default, so I suggest you change "(HÔTE = ucbdata-scan) ' to the local host where the asm instance"

second thing is there is typo in your tnsnames file. change this part "(SERVICE_NAME = ASM)" to "(SERVICE_NAME = + ASM).

    It may be useful
