Oracle community rewards: what is the reward?

I received an email about the oracle community awards and recognition program, but I couldn't read the faq even with oracle support account. (not approved).

So I had to go to the discussion of the community to see the faq.

I assume that:

bad url sent in the e-mail:

https://community.Oracle.com/docs/doc-894627

good url:

https://community.Oracle.com/docs/doc-889071

So yes, once more the forums came to understand something oracle.

I read it all and I do not see what benefit returned to the account to get points. Have I missed? As I said before I think point mile airfare, free of the conferences, screwdrivers, coupons, books, magazines... something.

I see a lot of people getting points unjustified concerns in the discussion about this. But my question is, why someone wants points any? What they think they're going to

Download?

I also fear that this system does not reward super stars by taking over oracle users such as Pits and hundreds of blogs, web sites, stack overflow, etc. out there.

One-stop shop for something like how to install forms and weblogic would be much better that every person who wants to install it meets every thing that could go

evil that they can ask the forum topic. At this rate, it would take weeks to install. So I'm defying for a limited format question / answer. People should be

able to write support documents.

We are already winning working with Oracle products.

    Hello
The bridge that made that send SQL to the remote database, then there may be network delays sends the data back to Oracle.
However, the main problem with any modem router is when data must be post-processed. This means that all data from a remote select must be returned to the Oracle database to be processed when you use the syntax or functions and such like that cannot be processed at the remote site.
The following note available in My Oracle Supprot discusses this further.

  • What is the difference between POS and VSC? Which should I use?

    Hello

Turns out we have a multitude of backup running for our virtual machine environment. We lack vCenter 6.0, 6.1 VDP, VSC 6.2P1, SnapManager for SQL and SnapMirror jobs put in place in OnCommand 3.1.2.

I go crazy trying to pierce the need to have all these products running of backups and snapmirroring data. Bottom line, our SnapMirrors for one or two Volumes take f o r e v e r... And that impacts my tests of SRM (when you use the replication of data).

I'm trying to clean up, he perfected down, consolidation, re-scheduling and friction on all these solutions. And in the middle of my panic, I thought that "these all do essentially the same thing? Taking snapshots and SnapMirroring data? »

So, my question to the community is, what is the difference between these solutions, or are they all essentially do the same thing? They confront each other, vying for the band width and stumbling on them to achieve the same thing? Right now my plan is to suspend all work of everything except VSC and SnapManager for SQL and do all this from VSC. This means suspend jobs in NetApp services.

I'm not the admin for POS, it is my co-worker, so he who installed independently of my work. Is it still necessary?

What brought me to all of this, besides the failure of MRS to transfer data (SnapMirror on request within a reasonable time) was noting the deltas for our work of snapshot is always huge at certain times of the day. For example, our biggest pork of data has a light snapshot at midnight, and he is constantly 71GB. This leads me to believe that this is a job, because it is predictable. The net effect is SnapMirror jobs take days, latency are several days and transfers has never really stop.

We plan to upgrade our pipe between our protected Site (HQ) and our DR Site (branch) of 50mbps at 100 Mbps. We have 100 out of our headquarters and 50 in our satellite TV right now, so we want to both be 100. Maybe that would solve the issue, but I still would be pretty effective.

If you need more information, let me know and I will fill you, or less make up something so I look like I know what I'm talking about.

    TIA!

    Steve

The reason why you do SnapMirror replication is DR. It is not a backup solution. If you stop all your SnapMirrors in OnCommand Unified Manager and your storage array, the production goes down, you no longer have a DR.

What does VSC is, it creates snapshots of your NetApp volumes, you can use for short term backup/recovery. The snapshots are not a real backup solution, however. If someone deletes a volume on the NetApp snapshots of this volume will not save you because they no longer exist. But they are still useful in many scenarios, such as Previous Versions of Microsoft CIFS options.

SnapManager aims to make consistent snapshots of demand for software such as MS SQL in your case. Instant database do not give you this ability, as they do not trigger the VSS suspension. More SnapManager for SQL gives you point in the ability to recover in time for your databases to SQL transaction logs, which provide none of the solutions above. However, as SnapManager creates snapshots, you must make sure that you have dedicated LUN for you SQL VM, otherwise you will be taking snapshots of the same volumes twice.

And now VDP makes backups of your environment. It supports long-term retention, as snapshots in general are not kept for more than one week or one month. Make sure that the data are stored on a separate volume from where are your virtual machines. Or ideally to a destination that is external to your storage group.

Hope that clears things up a bit. The result is, what you have is perfectly fine.

  • What is the best way to reward a visitor with a unique song download to complete the form?

In the re-design of my songwriting site, I want to reward my fan to fill a form with a single download of a song professionally recorded of their choice. What is the best way to do this without abusing? I want to maximize downloads from iTunes, where the fan pays for my downloads of the song.

    Paige Powell

    Hi Paige

If I'm not mistaken, you want when the user submits a form, then they should be able to download a song of their choice?

This would require customization because it involves the submission of the form, redirect to a page with songs and then limit the user to download.

Presentation form redirect to a specific page can be done by using the form action url editing.

On the destination page, link text of song with downloaded audio files on the site and list them on the page.

Restrict the user to download more, use custom code to achieve this.

British Colombia, you can achieve this by using media and connection modules to a secure area, please let me know if you are Business Catalyst to host the site so I will give you the steps as the way in which this can be achieved at the end of BC.

    Thank you

  • What is the setting of secure communication in personal cloud of Iomega EZ Media & Backup settings?

In the settings of individual cloud, there is a setting "Secure Communication". You can choose High, Medium, or None. What is the result of each of these options? There is nothing in the manual or online help on this setting.

The top is 128-bit and I think the middle is 64-bit.

  • Can someone tell me what is the difference between a default playback device and a default communication device?

original title: sound settings are very complex. Can someone tell me what is the difference between a default playback device and a default communication device?

In fact, I use the recording software to record songs instead of downloading. Some recorders record their own drivers and they work fine. But sometimes, they do not respond. The DD Realtek Audio Manager is sick with something. People suffer a lot using this. My questions are endless. Some of them are:

    • What is "Realtek Digital Output?
    • Save devices-part of sound cards?
    • What are animals like 'Audio CD' and 'Stereo Mix' displayed on the DD Realtek Audio Manager?
I'm sorry for not being specific, but I need a very good idea of how to deal with the settings of the sound in windows 7. And one thing, I have no microphone plugged but always Realtek HD Audio Manager detects? Why?

    Hi SandiKollol,

A communication device can mean different things, but mostly it is used to allow voice communications on the internet.

A playback device plays his return, such as your speakers or headphones.

    I hope this helps.

Digital badges are a concept that allows employers to be certain that no one 'X' that says that they hold (for example) Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional 12 c credential - really holds them there. No 'X' can now fill their LinkedIn profile "Certifications" section with any number of impressive certifications - if they have really them.  Digital badges, however, are verified by a collaboration between Acclaim (a service digital badging from Pearson view) and LinkedIn.  Someone cannot display a digital badge of a credential given without having actually been verified to hold.

    http://certmag.com/Digital-badges-may-help-bridge-certification-credibility-gaps/

In any case - to my knowledge - there is nothing you need to do.  Application of digital badges Oracle is in the baby-steps stage and I know they will continue to roll out over the coming months.  They should send email to certification holders to allow them to perform the badging process.  I think they started with the CMO credentials as a test and increase outside with others.

  • How to configure the options of oracle community such as, I see the answers to the questions posted by myself in a separate stream of data/place?

    Hello

Thank you for your initiative on the oracle community.

I love the community and wants to play an active role.

However, I see the discussions initiated by me in a separate stream of data/place rather than mix them in all the other debates.

is it possible to search all discussions posted by me only in one place?

Is it possible to configure the options so that only the answers to my questions will be displayed in the Inbox?

It used to work before, however, I subscribed to a few communities and my Inbox is bombarded with all the discussions. I read and try to answer on the other discussions, but it is difficult to keep track of discussion initiated by me?

    Help, please.

  • What is the problem with my Oracle reports parameter?

    Hello

We use a PL SQL package that allows the user to select the report you want Oracle and associated parameters.   While the control is passed to Oracle 11 g reports.

The requirement of one of the reports is to enable more detailed codes be selected by the user and then shown.  The detailed code is an alphanumeric field that can hold between 4 and 6 characters.

If my data model looks like this

    SELECT student_id

        FROM my_view

       WHERE detail_code IN :p_detail_code;

and the parameter that I'm passing to Oracle reports looks like this (when I view the source HTML code)

    & p_detail_code =('1001','1002')

    so no record is selected.

However, if my data model looks like this, I get the records you want:

    SELECT student_id

      FROM my_view

    WHERE detail_code IN ('1001', '1002');

We have Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.4.0 - 64 bit Production.

Please tell me what is the problem with my setting.  Thanks a lot for your help.

This isn't how you can use in. See this example on how to solve it with the digital settings. If your setting is a character, you need to change this.

In fact, when you simply enter 1,2,3 as an input parameter, you actually create this query:

    Select *.

    from my_table

    where num_column in ("1,2,3")

    Use rather a lexical parameter:

    Select *.

    from my_table

    & p_where

In the parameter after relaxation shape, build the lexical like this:

    :p_where := 'where num_column in ('||:p_param||')';
