Oracle forms to Oracle Apps

Hi all

Our company has decided to transfer me team of Oracle applications. I have 4 years of a form of oracle and oracle pl/sql knowledge. Could you please give me an idea

How oracle forms is similar to applications. I think I have a decent knowledge in Oracle forms but can you please tell me how long it will take

an average guy to pick up oracle apps concepts.

If by 'Apps', you mean the Oracle Enterprise Business Suite (EBS), which was previously called background Oracle Applications, then your forms and PL/SQL will help a lot, but now, you will need to learn the framework of EBS.  The best way to do is to read the documentation of the EBS.  Here are some useful links:

  • Disable (= update not allowed) the field ordered_quantity in Oracle Apps R12 using FP

    Hi friends,

    Please help me with this requirement - Oracle Apps R12 - related forms-

    Obligation:

    Disable the option to update - user should not update the quantity fields on the tabs IE (price, delivery, returns, Service, other, addresses) if it meets a given condition.

    If someone tries to update - just pop - up error message "update not allowed here!"

    I think we can do this using the form of customization.

    But I'm not actually (event trigger, Trigger, Condition object) - how to disable particular field

  • Unable to connect to Oracle Apps R12

    Hello

    I have an Oracle Instance R12 installed on my laptop (middle-tier and the database). When I tried to launch the executable form in the responsibility of the system administrator after login, I got the following error:

    FRM-92102: A network error has occurred. Customer Forms attempted to re-establish its connection to the Server 5 times without success. Please check the network connection and try again later.

    I googled on this topic and found that changing networkretries setting helps.

    I changed the parameter networkretries in the file $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server/formsweb.cfg of 0 to 30.

    After that, I stopped the instance (adstpall.cmd) and started (adstrtal.cmd) again.

    Now, when I run the (IE) browser and try to connect to the Oracle Apps instance, it gives me the following error:

    HTTP 500 Internal Server Error

    The website cannot display the page

    HTTP 500

    Any help on how to fix this would be appreciated.

    Manual updates to the configuration files are to be avoided - AutoConfig should take care of everything, from where you are now I would say stopping and running again AutoConfig to see if that lets you go back to a working configuration.

    You have not specified the R12 version, so I think that you have loaded an out-of-the 12.1.1 box on your laptop to test?

    If I remember well 12.1.1 comes with JRE6 in the techstack, but is not the patch of Sun JRE interoperability (4377566) previously applied, it's something to check.

    The forms out-of-the-box technology stack also needs the additional fixes to make it compatible JRE7.

    You really have deployed SSO as well, or is this the normal login page you are trying to do?

    I read a lot of doc on FRD (diagnose forms TIME) then I came to know that I have to install oracle apps r12. So I want to ask I'm following right way to diagnose myself over time oracle forms so that I can know his mistake & where he is and why?

    If you want to work with obtaining FRD newspapers and their learning. You can simply connect to an existing EBS enviornment and the work, if it isn't the only option you have is to install EBS and learn the concept of DR.

    I'm trying to configure SSL in oracle apps 11.5.10.2.
    I'm a bit confused with the note ID: 123718.1. Could you please explain on the underside of things?

    1 SSL can be implemented at three levels,
    (a) oracle/Apache Web server level
    (b) level of oracle server form
    (c) level of oracle database

    Can implement SSL on one or two levels of component? As per Note: 123718.1, we HAVE to configure SSL for the Oracle's HTTP server and Oracle Forms level and these cannot be configured independently.

    2. According to the Note ID: 123718.1, Option 2.1. Provision of certificate for Oracle HTTP Server
    Point b to point 2 says to run "$OPENSSL_TOP/bin/openssl sha1 or * > $HOME/.rnd.
    But who will be the OPENSSL_TOP?

    Please advise on these above two queries.

    You need to do to both layer of Web/Forms.

    I expanded the page seeded controller. It was working fine.

  • cohange property of the item in oracle apps instance

    I have created a custom form in oracle apps. I want to disable (not navigable) a checkbox.
    According to the developer's guide, only modifiable and entrable properties manage level instance property.
    The disable property is applied to all instances of the element.

    What to do. Any help will be appreciated.

    You could try a combination of the INSERT_ALLOWED, UPDATE_ALLOWED and VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE to avoid the box updated. I've listed the property VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE here because you can create a Visual attribute that gives the appearance of a disabled item. You can also set the NAVIGABLE property to prevent the "Key Board" navigation; Unfortunately this does not prevent them from using the mouse to click on the checkbox.

  • Archived bills accessible via Oracle Apps

    Hello

    Our Organization is currently on applications 11.5.10.2 and have acquired a new company which has been moved to the Oracle. However, this new company has many old bills that we do not want to migrate to Oracle because we want to keep the Apps database lean and fast and this data is used very rarely.

    Our plan is to move these data in a separate database / warehouse and build a custom (with Oracle Forms and reports) application to query the data and print reports.

    However, we must add some sort of link / menu item in Oracle Apps to call this new application when the user wishes to question this archived data.

    Is this possible? If so, how can this be achieved? How do we create a different database applications binding?

    Any help will be much appreciated?

    Oracle Apps DBA's who will manage the database like Oracle E - Business Suite (including the activities of sysadmin, cloning, patching, etc.) and consultant ERP is one which shoul have knowledge products such as finance, human resources, materiel management business.

    It will implement of ERP and customize forms and reports in accordance with the requirements of the company.

    I suggest to go for Oracle Apps DBA and you can write certification Oracle E-Business Suite R12 system administrator Certified Expert (OCE)

    Hi all!

    How can I check if oracle.apps.jtf.cac.task.createTask event is raised when a task has been created?
    This event fires whenever a task is created regardless of what process created the task? I mean if the task was created automatically when SR is created or if the task is created manually?

    How can I manually test this professional event?

    There are in our environment (EBS 11.5.10.2) following up to this professional event subscriptions:
    CS_SR_SECURITY_UTIL. SECURE_SR_TASK_OWNER
    jtf_task_wf_subscribe_pvt.create_task_notif_subs
    CS_SR_CHILD_AUDIT_PKG.CS_SR_Audit_ChildEntities

    I added the subscription xxcsf_002_wf_subscribe_pkg.create_task, calling (create_task) function in a DB package (xxcsf_002_wf_subscribe_pkg). The first thing I do, first and foremost, is logg in a custom table of the event of input in the function of package, but then which task is created in the form of "Enter the Service to request" nothing is recorded in the custom table.

    What am I doing worng? Thanks in advance for the help!

    Look at the wf_deferred table (assuming that you use asynchronous process)

    Select count (*) in wf_deferred
    where corrid'art = 'APPS:oracle.apps.jtf.cac.task.createTask';

    If it returns the lines, you have events are triggered. You can take a look at the user_data and the State.
