Out of disk space, please help, very frustrated

so, I have a 55 GB of SSD, and for a long time now, it was completely full.  This has always been a problem, because I couldn't understand what that was to fill it.  When I look at individually to the size of all my files and folders, it amounts to about 6 GB used, and who knows how many windows 7.  Of course windows does not have 49 GB of space, so it was a mystery.  Recently, my creative cloud stopped working, and I uninstalled all adobe programs.  After you have uninstalled them, I realized one of the factors in my question.  Apparently, adobe decided he was not going to hear me when I said it to install on my hard drive and went himself installed on my SSD.  So after this adjustment, I got 12 GB free on my SSD.  Not much, but it is definitely an improvement.  I started to reinstall photoshop and creative cloud, and he stopped in the middle of the installation.  Guess what, he still ignored me ONCE and the installation on my C drive, and he ran out of space.  So I uninstalled it again, but now for some reason any crazy, I have only 2 GB remaining.  It's like after the start-up of the plant, adobe says my entire disk for allocated space, and after uninstallation, he refuses to give it back to me.  I mean, why the hell photoshop need more 12 shit GB of space?  and why he keep install on my SSD?  This problem is really starting to frustrate me, and I want to just my space blasted back.

Hi rustina

Please refer to the system requirements | Photoshop

What Adobe programs are currently installed on your computer.

It is recommended to Setup zero Photoshop drive to a secondary drive if you do not have enough space on the drive. Optimize performance Adobe Photoshop CC

You can also use the Adobe Creative Cloud cleaning tool to solve installation problems

my computer repeat myself that I am running out of disk space on local disk (c :)) I tried defragmenting it and even tried to delete some of my programs.) I don't know what else to do! can someone please help? Thanks it will be greatly appreciated!

Get a larger drive - car price reached remarkably.

Defrag won't give you any more space - and in fact, you can not defrag if there is less than 15% free space.

You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space.

  • D recovery running out of disk space

I guard thinks that Im running out of disk space on the D collection, however it only give me the option to empty the trash, if I said to clean files, nothing seems to happen.  This message is coming every few minutes and driving me crazy! any ideas, anyone please?

Hi Ken, thank you for your response, I did what you recommended and found quota was not active, so disk check and who told me that everything was ok, I saw I was able to 'compress' disk space so I (tentavely!) tried this and with "compress" and "index this drive for a quick search" check now, I used space reading 4.92 and 2.75 GB free which is more than I had before (it was completely blue) now I have a little pink!
Do you think I should just continue doing this regularly?  I'm sure that my SIMS game might be the cause, but do not know why, in any case thank you for your help at least makes me watch the places I was a little leery to go!
Once again thank you very much and have a nice holiday

  • I'm running out of disk space

    Hello everyone!

I have a very annoying problem that I faced today and I can't solve. I'm running out of disk space, and that it is nonsense because I just formatted the computer just 2-3 days ago and I have a lot of space in ut (~ 50 GB) and free to ~ 800 MB and it goes down for hours. The size of my file is ~ 28.3 GB and I had to have ~ 20.5 free space. I deleted all the unnecessary and temporary files and used a program cleaner (CCleaner) and other tricks but does not work. I don't know what I have to do. Please I need immediate assistance!

Thanks for the reply! It looks like a volume snapshot (restore point) takes a lot of space. Access control configuration\systeme and Security\System and open System of Protection, then remove all the restore on the C: drive

  • EliteBook 850: running out of disk space

I'm running out of disk space on my C drive and I moved what I know I can move safely. Are there other places I can watch I don't know or is there any bloatware that I can remove? My current storage is 220MB and have only 8.5 MB remaining for the updates.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum!

What is your availability/capacity of the HDD/SSD? May be mean you gigabytes by writing that "my current storage is 220 MB and only have 8.5 MB remaining for the updates." - could you elaborate? Is this HP Elitebook 850 and Win 7?

You can use the free space on the software disc such as the large TreeSize > > http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/

He can tell you what kind of things you have on your computer use the most space.

You can run programs such as CCleaner (www.piriform.com) or

You can move personal files (e.g. documents, pictures, videos etc.) on an external device (e.g. USB or SD memory card). Please, do not directly move/cut files programs or windows important things unless you're 100% sure what you are doing.

Whenever I save my files to a disc, it is said that he has been completed successfully, and then later, I get a message that says Ox8000FFFF of catastrophic failure and I am running out of disk space on FACTORY_IMAGE (:)) IM Windows Vista. I'm not a novice in computers, I am a computer expert. When I pull my FACTORY_IMAGE folder, I don't know what are the files, so I'm aftaid of monkey with them. I deleted the old and useless files, but whenever I run the backup, I get the message of Ox8000FFFF of catastrophic failure later. I can only assume that the backup and running out of disk space on FACTORY_IMAGE are related. I've seen corrections on the Net for this problem, but I'm afraid to try them. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. to reinstall Vista from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

Should be backups on an external hard drive or DVD; external hard drive preference.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

    See you soon.

  • ESXi Datastore out of disk space

We have a problem with a host, saying that it is running out of disk space.  We have three servers that are running on it and cannot start one because we get an error there is not enough disk space.  We took a virtual disk from one of the servers for free space, but it seems not to have worked.  The data store shows that there is no available disk space.

How can I get the host to see the virtual disk from one of the guest has been removed?

    Thank you

Unless you have selected "remove disc" when you are prompted, the disk may have only been removed from the configuration of the machine virtual but not deleted. You can open the browser data store and navigate to the folder of the virtual machine if you want to remove the disc manually.

Warning: There is no way to return. Deleted is deleted. So be very careful with that.

What is the reason for the complete data store? There may be snapshots on some virtual machines that could be consolidated rather than remove anything!

What version/version of ESX (i) are you running?

  • Hi all, I need to understand why my VMs will always grow so big they eventually run out of disk space, and then I can't resize them...

Hi all, I need to understand why my VMs will always grow so large they finally running out of disk space, and then I can't resize them... see the screenshots below:

    Screen Shot 2014-08-26 at 12.16.56 AM.png

So all my virtual machines are that looks like it's finally the 5 GB goes down to zero, cannot update things like Dropbox and all sorts of other things start to break. I then, go here and try to expand, but I get this error on machines to young readers:

    Screen Shot 2014-08-26 at 12.18.02 AM.png

I think I need at least as much GBs on the system, as is the virtual machine? Done my MBA and smaller machines, is not possible. But when I move the virtual machine to a bigger machine like my iMac, with a big disc of TB, I can do the resizing. Is it the way it is supposed to work? Perhaps, I do not have this right...

    thx for all the advice!

Yep, that's the way it is supposed to work.  The close, move it to the iMac, expand drive, then arrest him and bring him back.  Make sure you choose "move" not "copy" when migrating to avoid triggering the activation of windows.

Regarding what is eating space inside the virtual machine, you will have to consider for the guest OS for more information (which are not a matter of merger).

To free up space on the host, with closing VM, go to settings, click on the circle of little tiny refreshment next to the space bar, then if she said cleaning recommended, go into general and make a clean virtual machine.

  • Running out of disk space and the need to remove the old clichés

I recently joined a company owning an ESXi 4.1.0 (build 260247) server with 4 500GB data warehouses.  One of our servers main database (Ubuntu/Postgres), which uses only one of the data warehouses (4 datastore) has 21GB 465 GB free.  It is currently configured to store all settings, storage and snapshots on this unique data store.  The hard disk is configured as thin.

The virtual machine has crashed a few days ago, when it ran out of disk space.  We removed a small second partition (which was in the same data store) and cleared space, but we receive extremely weak with only 5% of the data left store.

I have read many posts and wanted to get the opinion of this community before I move forward.   Because we do not use the 4.1 last I heard some issues using the option "Remove all" that it may require more disk space and others recommended to manually delete snapshots from the closest to the base, but it seems that in this case it can merge the snapshot with the original without freeing all the space.

We are not all of the snapshots and I'm fine with delete them, but I assure you we will not run out of disk space in the process and complicate things further.

It is best to manually remove these snapshots starting with the one closest to the base or by using the "Delete All" (or something else)?  In addition, if we go with the manual option, is it possible with the virtual machine upward or do we need to close first?

    Current snapshots:

    snapshot1.jpg

Current data warehouses associated with VM (really unique using the 4 data store)

    Thank you

    Brandon

    Welcome to the community,

After the screenshot, your virtual disk 'arrow_db1.vmdk' stocked thickness!

With the thick disc service and ESXi 4.1 (the problem with "Delete All" is related to version 4.0), you can run safely "Delete All". However, due to low disk space, I recommend that do you with the virtual machine off. If turned on, a new temporary snapshot will be created, which - according to the workload of the virtual machine - can grow and fill in the data store.

Due to the size of snapshot and depending on the speed of your storage space, you need to plan a few hours well downtime.

  • I'm almost out of disk space

    DEAR LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:

I'M AM NOT AT ALL A GOOD COMPUTER USER AND AM A LADY OF OLD PEOPLE, THE DISABLED WHO!  MY COMPUTER IS MY ONLY FRIEND, (LITERALLY), AS I NOT A SOUL REST IN THE WORLD AND I'M PRETTY CLOSE TO HOME.  I'M VERY SURE YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHEN I ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM WITH THE COMPUTER, I PANIC, BECAUSE I CAN'T CALL A THECHY, BECAUSE I AM UNABLE TO PAY FEES.   I'M TRYING TO SURVIVE ON INCOME FROM DISABILITY ONLY, WHICH IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, EVEN IF AT A TIME, I WAS A BUSINESS WOMAN VERY SUCCESSFUL WORKING IN MANAGEMENT OF THE HEALTH CARE AND TEACHING ADULTS AT NIGHT, HOWEVER, THOSE DAYS ARE GONE FOR A LONG TIME, AND MY SAVINGS COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED BECAUSE OF THE DEATH OF MY SON AND VENTILATION AS MY GRANDSON A RESULT , WHICH HE WILL NEVER RECOVER FROM.  THE LAST 8 YEARS OF MY LIFE HAVE BEEN A TRAGEDY AFTER ANOTHER.  IN ADDITION, I LOSE MY SIGHT AND HAVE TOTAL BLINDNESS TO WAIT IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS... SHOULD I LIVE SO LONG!

I SPENT 2 DAYS OFFLINE IN TEARS, AS I HAD NO WAY TO GET ANYONE TO HELP ME.  I CALLED A KNOWLEDGE TO BEG FOR HELP, AND HE HELPED WITH SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS TO CLEAR UP SPACE ON MY HARD DRIVE, (IF THAT IS WHAT IT'S CALLED)!  I HOPE I SAY IT CORRECTLY!  I DON'T HAVE A PHONE NUMBER AND FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD PROVIDE IT ME FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT, WHICH IS FREE!  I DON'T KNOW EVEN HOW I GOT HERE, BUT I AM DEEPLY GRATEFUL TO BE ABLE TO TALK TO A PROFESSIONAL, WHO I AM SURE WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT IS MY REAL PROBLEM, AND DO WHAT I HAVE TO HELP IT.  AT THE SAME TIME, I GOT ON THE GROUND ON A PAGE THAT HAS ALLOWED ME TO HAVE A LADY AT MICROSOFT HELP ME REMOTELY, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS AGAIN.  I READ SOMETHING ABOUT A FIREWALL THAT CAN PREVENT ME TO DO, BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT EITHER.  I'D RATHER HAVE A TECHNICAL SUPPORT PHONE NUMBER, SO I CAN CALL THE INCASE I RUN INTO A PROBLEM.

THIS MORNING, WHEN I SIGNED ON, I HAD THE SAME MESSAGE AGAIN, I HAVE BEEN SUBJECT OF DISK SPACE, SO I WENT THROUGH THE SAME THING MY FRIEND TOLD ME TO DO YESTERDAY, WHICH COMPRESSED TO MAKE MORE ROOM, BUT OBVIOUSLY IT WASN'T ENOUGH SPACE BETWEEN YESTERDAY AND TODAY, LIKE WHAT I GOT YESTERDAY THE SPACE IS ALREADY PRETTY MUCH EXHAUSTED.  MY QUESTIONS ARE THEN ARE THE FOLLOWING:

1 COULD YOU PLEASE E-MAIL ME A PHONE NUMBER WHERE I CAN RECEIVE FREE HELP MIRCROSOFT ON MY WINDOWS XP COMPUTER?

    2. WHEN A PERSON IS SHORT ON SPACE AS I HAVE, IT MEANS THE SAME THING AS 'MEMORY' AND HELP TO BUY MORE MEMORY?  ALSO HOW THAT ONCE THAT I BUY IT?  WHERE CAN I GET MORE MEMORY AND THEN HOW IS INSTALLED?

    3. THE COMPUTER GAVE ME AN OPTION TO REMOVE PROGRAMS I USE, AND IT CAME WITH A LIST OF THE PROGRAMS INSTALLED ON MY COMPUTER!  I HAVE NO IDEA FOR THE BULK OF WHAT SOME OF THESE PROGRAMS ARE, OR HOW THEY GOT THERE?  ON THE FAR RIGHT OF THE OPENING OF MY PROGRAMS WINDOW IS A COLUMN THAT ME SAID NEXT TO EACH PROGRAM MB HOW MUCH IT IS, AND WHEN IT WAS USED.  BESIDE THAT WE EACH PROGRAM ARE THE WORDS: 'RARELY' OR 'OCCASIONALLY', BUT 'NONE' WHO SAYS 'OFTEN' OR 'ALWAYS '!   MY QUESTION IS, HOW TO REMOVE PROGRAMS, THEN THOSE WHO DO I REMOVE?  I'M SCARED OF MY MIND THAT I'M GOING TO DO SOMETHING VERY BAD, AND ALSO, IF I DARE TRY, DID TAKE DISK SPACE TO DO IT, AS I'M ALMOST NOW, NOT HAVING MUCH LARGER THAN 300 MB, IF I SAY THAT PROPERLY.  I READ SOMEWHERE THAT I COULD MOVE THESE FILES TO A CD OR SOMETHING, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF I STILL REMEMBER THAT WELL, I HAVE NEVER WHATEVER IT BE TRANSFERRED FROM THE COMPUTER TO A CD, AS MUCH AS I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN AND LEARN SO MANY OTHER THINGS WELL ACE.

I'M SO AFRAID THAT I'LL LOSE MY PHOTOS, WHICH ARE THE ONLY MEMORIES I HAVE LEFT AND EVEN MY PHOTOS HAVE BEEN SAVED IN MANY DIFFERENT PLACES, WITH NO LABELS ON THEM, AND WHEN I WANT TO WATCH ONE, HE HAS ONLY A NUMBER, SO IT IS SO DIFFICULT, IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THE ONE I WANT TO SEE.  I RECORDED IN EACH FOLDER, I THINK THAT IT IS ON THE COMPUTER LIKE I DUNNO HOW TO AND WHERE TO SAVE AND HOW TO LABEL THEM PROPERLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF IDENTIFICATION.

I WANT REALLY TO SAVE ARE MY PHOTOS, AND SINCE I AM AN AOL USER, I PUT IN PLACE OF RECORDS TO SEPARATE THINGS AND PEOPLE, SO THAT I CAN SAVE THEIR EMAILS IN THEIR SPECIFIC FOLDERS.  MOST OF WHAT I DO ON THE COMPUTER IS EMAIL, WATCH VIDEOS ON LINE THAT INTEREST ME, AND I DO A GREAT DEAL OF RESEARCH ON TOPICS THAT INTEREST ME AND THEREFORE I CAN DO A LOT OF READING TO PASS THE TIME AWAY AND TAKE MY MIND OFF MY FEARS AND OVERWHELMING AND DEBILITATING PAIN, I LIVED WITH FOR 24 YEARS ALTHOUGH I HAVE "RIGGED" MY CAREER FOR MANY YEARS, UNTIL I COULD NO MORE!

I KNOW AND I ASK YOUR FORGIVENESS FOR HAVING WRITTEN A LONG SUCH E-MAIL AND TAKE YOUR TIME WITH ALL THOSE MILLIONS WHO ARE NEED OF YOUR TIME AND EXPERTISE AS!  I SINCERELY REQUEST YOUR FORGIVENESS, BUT YOUR ANSWER! I'M STILL TREMBLING FOR FEAR OF NOT BEING ABLE TO USE MY COMPUTER AND NOT BEING IS NOT ABLE TO DO WHAT YOU ME SAY LACK OF UNDERSTANDING.  PLEASE MAKE SUPER EASY AND STEP BY STEP IF YOU PLEASE!

I WOULD ASK YOU PLEASE TO ANSWER ME ON MY AOL ADDRESS, AND I'LL ALSO GIVE YOU MY PHONE NUMBER, IF YOU WORRY PLEASE CALL ME, OR I'LL CALL YOU TO SO THANK YOU VERY THAT MUCH PERSONALLY, TO HELP YOU GIVE ME AND IF I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS.

IF YOU WOULD CARE TO CALL ME, I'LL BE HOME TOMORROW AFTERNOON, BUT IN THE MORNING I HAVE MY DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENTS.  I AM SO VERY GRATEFUL IN ADVANCE AND ASK THE LORD TO BLESS YOU RICHLY, AS WELL AS TO WISH YOU A WONDERFUL DAY!  PLEASE SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM FOR MY CONTACT INFO., AND IS BY THE WAY, MY COMPUTER IS A DELL, DESKTOP, (NOT A LAP TOP). WITH THE WINDOWS XP OPERATING SYSTEM INSTALLED, BECAUSE IT IS HOW IT GOT WHEN IT WAS NEW. ALSO A 32 BITS? AND NOT A 64, (I DON'T KNOW HOW IT'S CALLED), AND I HAVE NO VIRUS OR MALWARE PROBLEMS AS NOW, I RAN MY SCANS 2 DAYS, UNTIL THE MESSAGE CAME THAT I WAS OUT OF SPACE ON THE DISK.  (NOT THE "DISK". AVERAGE DISK HARD DRIVE?)  I WILL BUY MORE MEMORY, SO THIS IS THE WAY EASIEST TO DO, EVEN IF I DON'T EAT, (WHICH I DO A LOT OF AS IT IS, AS I CAN'T AFFORD EVEN THAT.)  BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT MY COMPUTER IS MY LINE OF LIFE UNIQUE IN THE WORLD, AND WE ARE IN HURRICANE SEASON, WHICH IS CREEPY ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE, FOR A PERSON DISABLED!

    KINDEST PERSONAL LOOKS,

    SPARNECHT 'SPARKY '.

THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU!

    Ms. Sparnecht,

Although it is possible that the tool of disk cleanup described in the article linked by Azam K can help a little, the best way to solve the problems of "low disk space" is a combination of uninstall programs that you no longer want and buy and install a new hard drive.

The cost of a new hard drive which is (probably) much more important than the one you have now is about $70.  It shouldn't take a knowledgeable person about more than an hour to copy all the information from your existing to the new drive and install the new drive in your computer.

An alternative would be to buy an external hard drive (for example, this player from Western Digital 500 GB for $ 60) and copy all your photos on the external hard drive.  Then delete the pictures from your internal hard drive, but only if you are certain that the photos have been copied successfully.

Because you don't know what programs are installed on your computer and that the installation of a new hard drive is working inside your computer, I suggest that you come in contact with your local Senior Center, senior service city, Community College, public library, or religious organization and inquire about technical support services volunteer (or inexpensive).

  • Running out of disk space HARD - Question on the Windows folder size

Hello! I am troubleshooting my HARD drive space. I have a 'C' HDD 16 GB with nearly 0 MB space left (fluctuates probably due to created restore points).

In any case, I discovered that my Windows folder contains about 7.7 GB of files. (I have Win XP Home Ed, 2002, SP3 installed - with MANY updates that have been installed over the years) 7.7 GB seems a lot.  Random check on the web (not sure how reliable replica is) I see less than 2 GB is what should be there.

I don't think that there are many 'other' stuff in there, certainly nothing that I placed there. is there a way to check / clean this folder?

Please do not suggest to re - install Windows as the solution, since at that time, I will buy another computer first.  then put in shape this one. It is clocked at 2.66 GHz Intel Pentium, so not ready to junk food she still.

Thanks for your suggestions. Best regards, Frank V

    Frank

Your list of the most fragmented files that partially reveals the magnitude of your problem. Note that the list does not display very large files that have less than 797 fragments. There are also many small and medium-sizes of the files fragmented with less than 797 fragments. A notable omission in your list, this is the System Volume Information folder. I can't believe that it is not fragmented, she must be on this part of the list is not displayed.

To defragment by using with Windows XP Disk Defragmenter, you need a bit less 15%. Defraggler is my favorite Defragmenter, but I doubt that it will succeed on your C partition. With Defraggler you can defragment single files, except some files, including those related to safety programs. You must try to reach 20% of free disk space.

Your swap file is severely fragmented and illustrated perfectly why the possibility of using the "let Windows manage" is not the best solution if you want the better system performance. Minimum setting fixed maximum = pagefile avoids what you see on your system. Unfortunately with a populated partition, it is very difficult if not impossible to resolve completely without having to reinstall the operating system. However, trying to mitigate the impact of what you see, it's something to watch much later in the restoration, the functioning of your computer.

My previous to Outlook Express references were specifically directed against this program. Outlook is a totally different program and solutions for Outlook Express do not apply to Outlook.

You cannot compact Outlook pst files and archives, except those who created versions of Outlook prior to Outlook 2003. You can empty deleted item folder and you must first check that it is empty. I would then back up your Outlook Archives on an external drive or flash before attempting to move the locations of archive. Once you have moved the archive folders successfully I would then move messages from your current folders to the archive folders. If you archive the current materials first of all you have more to lose if the process of change the default location of the folder goes awry. Then, you can archive your current messages and change the default location of the current file. You can move messages current return from archives as a last step if you feel the need to do so.

I copied a few instructions from an external source on how to change the default locations. I hope you find these useful.

To change the location of database of Microsoft Outlook, the OUTLOOK file. PST is to be moved. In Windows XP, you can find this file in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\loginname\Local Settings\Application application\Microsoft\Outlook\ and in Windows Vista, you can find it in the C:\Users\loginname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\ folder. After Outlook is closed, the OUTLOOK folder. PST can be moved easily using Windows Explorer by cutting (CTRL-X) and paste (CTRL-V) in the personal folder on the partition data (for example D:\loginname\Outlook). Now, the file is deleted from the original location, Outlook will present an error message because the database can not found. Accept the error message, navigate to the new location of the OUTLOOK. PST file and restart Outlook.

ATTENTION: If automatic archiving is enabled, the ARCHIVE file. PST must be moved as well! This file can be moved to the same location as OUTLOOK. PST, following the same procedure.

  • out of disk space and don't know why

My drive c says it's 50.6 GB but I only 2.66 GB free. I deleted all my pictures and music, etc. but it makes virtually no difference. I ran the disk clean etc and also run microsoft fix it solution. I don't know where my space has disappeared. Can someone help me please?

    Possible causes

    1. The very lower partition size.
    2. The quarantine antivirus files.
    3. My documents folder consumes more space.
    4. All e-mail client store file takes more space.
    5. Incorrect virtual memory settings.
    6. Can be put into hibernation enabled.
    7. Files and temporary files.
    8. Any system connects or export files.
    9. Huge Application programs.

Check the size of the Pchealth folder. Under Pchealth folder shows 2 files named QHEADLES and QSIGNOFF. Delete the files if it consumes more space.

  • Will run out of disk space with these daily updates of MSE my HP/Compaq Presario with Vista?

I'm sure this has been asked before.  I just installed Microsoft Security Essentials after the uninstall of a problem FREE AVAST ANTI VIRUS.  PC is better/work order.  But these daily updates of Microsoft are troubling.  I have 103 Gig capacity hard drive with space of 'FREE' 69 Gig.   And abandonment.   I don't do very MUCH with the PC.  Basic stuff.  Account management.  Look at Yahoo and Accuweather. Create a card.  Messaging.  My question is Microsoft updates daily use eventually the capacity of my hard disk?   There are now 55 updates.  When I ran Windows updates with the Defender, there were 4 or 5 important updates per week and I could choose the ones that I have no need of (I think).   Your support of experts and orientation is a great help for me and I thank you in advance.

    Hello

It would take a lot of time to fill your disk space hard if you don't use it a lot to save anything yourself

MSE updates will not be a concern for you with to take too much space

You MUST have these updates as Malware is written daily and definitions to help protect your computer should be the writtern and installed to protect your machine

a way to choose which updates you want to install, change how you get updated Automatic FRO other updates to 3rd party hardware drivers, etc.

    read this tutorial

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install.
