Padlock icon warning with no. Firefox addons Firefox
Firefox displays a lock icon of exclamation mark red at some https sites, esp. during the payment process.
- I have not installed add-ons Firefox.
- My updated Norton 2011 indicate a computer problem.
- Firefox has been uninstalled, then reinstalled. The problem has not been resolved.
- I only got this problem on sites of fairly well-known domestic suppliers (that is to say, I don't use of sites belonging to unknown sellers).
- I tried different versions V3.6. # Firefox.
I searched several mozilla forum related issues. Most seem not solved or related modules. Moreover, some have opted to Firefox for another browser.
I hope that someone will come up with a better solution than "use the web browser a competitor."

The "secure" (lock) icon no longer appears on the status bar (or anywhere else I can find) when you go to a secure web page. How can I get the 'secure site' (padlock) icon to display when you access a web page secured with Firefox 4?
You can add a 'lock' the b-I-S with this extension.

Windows 7 64 bit
I want desperately to upgrade Firefox to version 10 of version 9, but whenever I try, I'm stuck with FF10 control addons for compatibility and opening the homepage whenever I starts the browser. I keep having to go back to version 9 to solve this problem.Sorry to be a while back! It tried unsuccessfully so this AM, gritted my teeth and deleted the FF programs folder and downloaded and installed FF 10.01. He was still struggling with the same problem. Went in the appdata folder and two files sessionstore.js there. Delete both, restarted the browser and no verification of the compatibility of the modules was done at first upward and the additional tab for welcome to FF was the opening is no longer all seems to work as it should and I did not lose any of my settings... Thanks for trying to help, and I hope that my solution helps someone else who could this experience in the future. Hoping that the next update will smoother!

Recently a kind of male-ware jumped to the top of windows when I do a secondary tab or click on a piece of information or something like. Also get a video ad in the lower right. These appear to occur separately. I followed the steps outlined in the help section. Downloaded Malwarebytes, it ran, still having the problem. Reset computer to a previous date. Still having the problem. Pop-up window comes up with the firefox logo in the corner. Takes too long to load, I usually close it until I can see what the devil is really. To appear a lot tho and really become a problem.
Help, please.
Thank you

During the upgrade of the FF 16 or 17, I can always drag the icon that is to the left of the url on the desktop (or even quick launch of XP, shortcuts to files, etc.) to create an internet shortcut to the current page. However, with 17 this method produces a shortcut that shows a generic Windows icon instead of a Firefox-page icon. Even if a generic Windows icon shows normally "no associated program," these always open with FF when double-clicked. But it does not look good. (BTW, all of the shortcuts created by this method in FF 16 or less preserved the FF-page 17 updated icon.)
No idea why this has changed and how to fix it so that it looks the same as before?
Pending the resolution of the present (and another question) I went back to 16 FF, and it works normally again. However, shortcuts that were created while I had 17 always display the generic Windows icon.

I downloaded the update file and installs the Applications folder as requested, this is as an alias. There is a new icon on my desktop. I can't move to the dock, however. I click on this icon and apps and it keeps giving me my original box with folder icon, the arrows and Firefox applications. I'm going round and round and getting no where!
Hello
Thanks a lot to try to solve this problem. I did as you directed and now have the new version of Firefox running. It's a little bit conventional since I always get this box on my desktop but when I click on the icon that Firefox 8 appears.
Thank you

How to stop the tab 'Getting started with Mozilla Firefox' to open every time I open FF?
Everytime I open FF, the tab "Getting started with Mozilla Firefox" opens. I checked and it is not in my list of homepage.
If I open any additional windows, it does not open.
But, once I close all the and reopen it again, the tab opens.
I had a similar problem with some addons (ietab) do the same thing.
I found the fix for it.
About: config, filter for 'Start '
Ones you want to should appear at the bottom.
Startup.homepage_override_url and startup.homepage_welcome_url
Double-click on each one and delete the text string. Close and reopen the window to check that it worked.
As I deleted them both at the same time, I'm not sure who was the culprit. So, I suggest starting by striking first and tests before deleting this one.

Can I still use Internet Explorer with Mozilla Firefox
Can I keep the two search engines installed and use them without causing any problems to my computer
Change by a moderator. I changed the title of
can I still use exporer with mozilla for
Can I still use orerlExp Internet with Mozilla Firefox
They are not search engines. They are called browsers, and Yes you can use Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer on the same computer at the same time. You can also add Google Chrome and a few others without causing problems for your computer.
Most people are after the use of these alternative browsers, that they no longer wish to continue using Internet Explorer.

I'm having a problem with the FireFox browser. I have attached two files that describe the problem. I have marked their A & B. A is how it should look like and B what happens once I have, I opened several tabs. I can get it back to normal if I click VIEW, click Customize. When the window customize appears that Firefox returns to its normal state. I have to click on the done button and go back to what I did. I tried to reset FireFox back to the default settings, but that has not fixed the problem.
It started happening a month. Is there a way I can fix this? Thanks for your help. I don't know how to fix my 2 attachments that shows the problem I'm having.

I'm worried I can compromise the security of my existing of passwords saved in Firefox by installing the add-on 'Saved password editor V2.7'. Is the add-on 'Saved password editor V2.7' a safe and secure to use with Mozilla Firefox V21.0 app?
You should always be careful when you install extensions, not only for security reasons, but always with respect to the stability of Firefox.
Extensions, hosted on the site of the Add - ons were examined, unless otherwise stated and are generally safe for installation, but they remain third-party software developed by others (only a few are Mozilla and patches).

Before coming to my new place, I saved all my info like passwords, bookmarks etc in my old laptop and they sync with my Firefox sync account. But after that I came to my new place, I bought a new laptop. But when I signed into my account to synchronize Firefox in my new laptop computer, I have not found all of these bookmarks or saved passwords. What should I do?
Yes, I would say that your passwords have disappeared. When synchronization key is "updated" as indicated in this part of the synchronization log that I cropped, the server is deleted user data because that data doesn't help. This sync key is the encryption key for the user data when these data are user devices that are connected to Firefox Sync. No one, except the person with the right key of synchronization (the "owner" of this synchronization account) can use this data data are scrambled.
I'm curious to see the full text of the last two files sync-newspapers, 11KO and 38 k is a lot more data than usual for a synchronization log. On my 3 accounts of separate sync I usually see sync-newspapers of 3 KB to 8 KB when there is an error-. Problem is that this forum software does not downloads of files and do a copy / paste of that data in the response box to retain the formatting of line - makes it very difficult to read and follow the sequence of events.
Sorry, we did not have an outcome.

Hello, I have a problem with Mozilla Firefox 14 and now also Firefox 15. When I click on .html files on my desktop, firefox will open a new window twice. Where is the problem? Thank you
That may be a problem with the DDE.
Try to undo and redo Firefox as default browser.
Make a different browser like IE browser by default and then let Firefox do it again.

I can't open the images in Yahoo mail with 7 Firefox, but IE works.
After several years of success with Yahoo mail and Firefox, I can longer open mail of Yahoo (jpg, bmp) images. I can open them in gmail with Firefox or IE. I can open them in Yahoo mail using IE. I am running Firefox 7.0.1 and I think, but am not sure, all my trouble started after the update to this version of Firefox.
RESOLVED: Here is the solution to "I can't open the images in Yahoo mail with 7 Firefox, but IE works." Just before I log on my E-mail Yahoo site I turn on cookies, but I never enable third-party cookies. That has always worked very well until October 2011. Just after I installed the new Firefox 7 this problem started. Now I just found out that the problem is solved, if I enable cookies from third party. Users should not have to enable cookies from third party read the Yahoo mail via Firefox!

When you get this program you want to use to open the file, you can select the appropriate program to open it? If so, isn't there a box to check that says always use this program...
Network adapter. Missing drivers? Go to your device manager and look to see if there is lack of device drivers. They can be labeled as just a controller ethenet or other device with a small exclamation point.
This means that they need a driver. In order to send you the link to the right driver, I need to know what model of network card you have.
If you are unsure, click on all the missing devices in Device Manager. Then click on the Details tab. In the property drop-down list, select the second element (Hardware ID). After the first string of characters you see.
Who will be ID the make and model of the device and I can send you the link for the drivers.
Sorry, but I don't know anything about video games, so I can't help with that one.
