  Just updated my firmware to M07. R.0579 and now, for all my movie / photo - from my DNLS Server files - I get errors for all these files "file is corrupt or not supported."
  This feature was working before the upgrade. Tried to get M07. R.0553 - reader DVD says 'already improved. " Now I'm stuck.

  I have a Blu - Ray Sony BDP-S580 player. Version of the software is up-to-date: M07. R.06381. it is connected to my network servant gigabit.

  I am so he could broadcast my MP3 collection from my PC, also on the network. The PC is Windows 7 family Premium and Windows Media Player 12. I implemented streaming in Media Player and I see the Blu - Ray player in the menu options of streaming.

  On the Blu - Ray, I see the PC in the menu and when I switch it to music, I can go through all the media player music files - so I know not network connectivity works, and I know that streaming works partially because I can see all the folders.

  However, all the folders are empty: I see no MP3s. All I see is the message "There are no playable file".

  Remember first time XBR music selection since it begins in video. Then you get off of here. If you get off of videos you will get this error.

  Unfortunately, the keyboards wireless cannot be used with the player Blu - ray. However, you can connect to 101-key USB keyboard to drive decision-making and can use for manual text entry while browsing.

  If you are not interested in using the wired keyboard, there is an application called "Media Remote" that you can use from your Android smart phone or iPhone, iPad etc. It has the particularity of keyboard to enter letters, numbers and other characters on the TV screen.

• BDP-S580 & MediaRemote iPhone App on a DIR-655 Router

  I just had a BDP-S580 and want to run it with my iPhone, so I downloaded the MediaRemote App but I can't seem to register for all the. I tried the BDP-S580 on Wi-wired connections and wireless and same place in the DMZ on my router D - Link DIR-655. Other than this issue, everything seems to work fine with the BDP-S580. It has the latest firmware as my router. I have a partitioning wireless off as well. Any ideas?

  I actually finally had success with the support of iOS remote to locate the receiver with this router DLink...

  For some reason, they don't see the other when the s580 is connected the dlink, even if they are on the same subnet, etc..

  However, as soon as I connected the s580 wireless with built-in receiver to test, the iphone and s580 seen each other immediately, and my dlna Server showed on the s580 as well.

  Looks like a bug in software on the s580, but wireless works fine.

  My player scratching blu of bdp-s580 age of 2 years with built-in wifi has stopped being able to connect to my wifi yesterday.  It kept giving me a message that failed when I tried manually enter my wifi information (scan does not all networks), and I did a factory reset.  Now, I'm not still able to scan for networks.  When I try and set up the connection to the network via the blu - ray player, without worrying if I select the implementation using the build in wifi or wifi usb, I've got the same message: that I don't have a connected LAN USB adapter.  I got this message even when I plugged a USB LAN adapter to see if the built-in wifi was the issue.  Due to the location of the drive blu ray, using a wired connection is not an option.

  I would appreciate any help you can give - I talked to a representative of Sony yesterday and he suggested to repair the unit, but the price I was quoted was more expensive than it is to buy the device in the first place.

  I was usin netflix on my Sony BDP-S390 fine for the last six months.

  And now all of a sudden it stopped working. Yesterday. I tried to reset the player, clear the netfilx app, update the firmware. And nothing seems to work. I even found a message on this forum for to change you ip address on the player for a higher last number. (Still wondering what this could do), but that no longer works.

  So, what can I do? Any ideas? Other applications of the internet on the player work fine except netflix.

• My Sony BDP-BX650

  My new Sony BDP-BX650 has trouble streaming video from Netflix. Sometimes, it is very well and other times it stops and starts every few seconds. In addition, the appliance crashes about once a week. When this happens I have to disconnect/reconnect power cord to get it going again. We did not have these problems with our old Sony BDP-S185.

  I put the DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. This only helped a bit streaming. The new player doesn't buffer content at all. Our former player did.

  Oddly, turning off the quick start feature seems to have cured my problem continuously. I suspect that there is a problem with the Netflix app that shows only after that the app works for some time. Starting cold clears the issue for hours. I hope it helps someone else.

  Auto-play is a design feature which can not be turn off. What you can do is to press stop or pause button to tell the BDP-S185 does not read the disc until you are ready to play the inserted disc.
