• replaced the hard drive, Illustrator CS4 now does not start

  After that I replaced my Mac (paid by Apple, fortunately) Fusion defective hard disk and restored everything from a Time Machine backup, Illustrator CS4 gives me error 150:30 when I try to run, with instructions to contact Adobe support web site. All I get there are some frequently asked questions and their cat gives suggestions repeated to try the forum. I'm surprised research here do not find other people who have had the same problem. I would have disabled AI CS4 before hand, but the disk failure came quickly and by surprise.

  I've logged into my Adobe account and could see my products, but could not find anywhere to administer anything, like resetting of the authorized computers one can in iTunes.

  Does anyone have a suggestion? I would of course welcome.

  Contact support to reset the activations, run the cleanup tool, and reinstall it correctly. There is no magic involved and I'm sure that your own web searches have come up with the same instructions, even if you seem to refuse to recognize them as the correct procedures.

• Can't get the upgrade to Illustrator CS4 to work with Freehand.

  There is no option for the upgrade of everything except CS, CS2, CS3. Adobe Announces Illustrator CS4 can be upgraded from Freehand MX, 10, 9, but fail to offer an option to enter a number on the fly during installation.

  Well, the right event type is AIEvent.DOCUMENT_CROP_AREA_MODIFIED. It is very useful to play with EventWatcher distance example Creative Suite SDK examples.

  I'm on a Mac OSX Yosemite. I have CS4 standard suite and when I try to open illustrator that I receive and errorr message

  then the program hangs and I have to force quit. Photoshop opens and works very well. I decided to uninstall cs4 and re install. that did not help. I always get the same error and the show. I'd love to help anyone can offer.

  also now my adobe acrobat 9 pro is the gel and will not open a pdf file. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and I get this message. When I hit continue he freezes as well and I have to force quit.  also, I don't remember when I bought 9 pro and have no idea where is my serial number.   Answered no real need to designate a user as one who has answered the question mark just the thread. This problem comes up often, and it's always the same user error.

  I'm working on approximately thousands files, each file have a need to incorporate image. My question is: is there a way to incorporate the images at once? I have an open files usually have and select 'integrate the image' in the links palette, is there an easy way to do it? Thank you!

  You can embed files when you save the .ai (in the second dialog box). Then maybe you could create an action and have it process all files.

• Cannot find "fit to work" in the artboard CC10

  CS6, you can select the picture, then move the Panel to the artboard, click options and choose "fit to selected art" or «fit to the limits of the work.» This resized the artboard to fit your work. In Illustrator CC, both options are absent in the Panel to the artboard and 'Custom' is not there either. I can't find these options anywhere else. Help files assume they are there.  I'm re-opening files in CS6 to do it now. Can't believe they have eliminated this feature. I use it every day. Where at - it go?

  With nothing selected, click the configuration Document button in the control bar.  Check the "Simulate paper color" under the Section of transparency. Then click on the white and gray squares and put them in the same color. It will give a color that does not print to the artboard.

  Or...

  Draw a rectangle of the same size as your work plan. Place it on the bottom most layer and lock it so it does not move.

• Are the selected items are highlighted on the artboard in CS4

  I have a file where, all of a sudden, the selected objects are are highlighted on the chart/canvas Board. If I click on an object with the selection tools or drag the lasso tool, they show as being selected in the palette layers and pallets of appearance and stroke of the object and/or fill colors are displayed in the tool palette, but in the artboard, no indication if anything selected.

  I must have clicked something to cause it. My other Illustrator files do not have this problem. TIA.

  Try typing "control h" that toggles to hide the edges and Show Edges.

  It seems that the file has been damaged.

  Try to create a document and by placing the file inside (after checking the paste remembers layers in the layers Panel dialog box) and know how much can be saved like that.

I copied the folder with the programs 'Programs' and the folder of the "Library / Application Support / Adobe" on my USB key and pulled on the MacBook in the program folder and the folder of Adobe.   Avoid copying files from one computer to the other. It won't work. You run out of hidden files scattered around the hard drive and interrupt the licensing mechanism.

  Uninstall, run the cleanup tool.
