Pavilion dv6707us vista

trying to recover, but used pc has finished start and stops after initial startup logo HP then notes F1, F2 and F9, etc., with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner of the screen. I pressed the F10 key upwards and carried out starting the memory and hard drive tests which succeed without error. PC will not read the 1st recovery disk.

Have you tried typing to the F11 key immediately after turning the power on to see if it does not start in the recovery partition?

The CD/DVD drive may be aging and not able to read the discs fast enough to start. You can boot from any other type of disc? You could try a free live cd like Ubuntu.

I suggest that you download the software from the HP Web site and install. It will automatically load the drivers. Here is a link you can follow to download and install the software:

  • HP Pavilion a1767c Vista Home 32 bit - BIOS update failed

The unexpected happened by updating my BIOS, we lost the power.  Once the power came back, my machine was bricked.  I get the error of Checksum BIOS's Boot Blocker

I did some research and found that I could re-Flash my BIOS so I could boot to a CD or a floppy disk.  I don't have a floppy drive, and after many attempts, I learned how to create a bootable CD with PHLASH16 and the extracted from the update of the BIOS ROM file that I had downloaded from the HP support site for my computer (sp37378.exe).  The question is the program flash will not read the ROM file that I've extracted from your exe file and I can't find the original file for the BIOS on the HP website.

  • HP Pavilion dv6000 (Vista) starts with a blank screen with a cursor after the original hp logo screen.

HP Pavilion dv6000 (Vista) starts with a blank screen with a cursor after the original hp logo screen.  Cannot get it to boot Windows.  Any thoughts on next steps?

I remove the hard drive and attach it to your desktop and use the host operating system to run a check disk on your drive.  The laptop goes hard disk looking for instructions to start and he does not see the correct code.  This is probably due to a damaged boot sector.  Another idea is that your bios has changed and you have changed the SATA from AHCI to IDE type somehow or vice versa. You also left a non bootable disk in the DVD/CD drive.  Remove all disks from your DVD.

I have a HP Pavilion Windows Vista Home Premium, and the D: drive is full. I don't understand how he got that way... but... I've never used windows to the top, however I do back up with my Norton Security.  I'm not a COMPUTER guru AT ALL and am very confused as to what must be saved for me to do a system restore.  I just made a backup on a 16 GB usb flash drive, which included photos, documents, email, contacts and music.  But what of my registry or my drivers I've updated on the latest updates of 2 years and windows?

So in plain English for the layperson to the computer, lol, can someone tell me...

    1. where should I back up to? (windows, norton?)

    2. what should I back up? EXACTLY, please. lol (I have hundreds of games, I don't want to back to the top if possible)

    Hello

Updates must be installed in a certain order and no Service Pack must be installed unless and until it is offered through Windows Update.

    However, try these options:

Step 1: You can not reuse what already automatically downloaded and installed. You can however save updates and install them manually if you wish.

Step 2: You can create a system image on the computer. A system image is an exact copy of a disc. By default, a system image includes the drives required for Windows to run. In addition, it includes Windows and your system settings, programs and files. You can use a system image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard drive or computer ever stops working.

    Hello

I replaced the second hard drive on my HP Pavilion m8120, Vista Home Premium OS due to the imminent failure.  Before that, I called HP Tech Support and I was told that I had to replace the 360 GB HD.  I bought a 1 TB HD that I was told would work in my system.  Following the instructions, I backed up all the files, installed 1 TB HD and down the system recovery.  Now I don't see the disk newly installed in the computer; However, I see it in the disk as ONLINE - not ALLOCATED management.  What must I do to see it in my computer so I can use the new drive?

    Hello

In disk management, right click on "Unallocated space", click New Simple Volume, click Next, click Simple and then follow the instructions to complete the process - should then appear when you look under the computer.

  • A6525UK: Pavilion upgrade Vista to Windows 7 not compatible NVidia Drivers?

I have a Pavilion model A6525UK I wanted to update to Windows 7 premium 32 VistaHome.

I ran advise upgrade of Windows 7, which told me to download the latest driver for the Nvidia nForce ethernet 10/100mps before you start the installation of Windows 7.

I have been in contact with the Nvidia customer service and got this response

    Hello:

The information you received from Nvidia is incorrect.

It is indeed a updated driver chipset from Nvidia, which updates the driver ethernet, you can upgrade to W7.

W7 is not on the drop-down list for the download of the driver, but when you select Vista, it shows that the driver is also good for W7.

    Here it is... 32 bit...

  • Pavilion p6120sc: Vista to Windows 7 upgrade: how to find the necessary drivers, etc.

Cheap HP Experts, the Vista operating system in my Pavilion p6120sc must be upgraded to Windows 7. The compatibility test of Microsoft said that the current driver for my NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet is not valid in Windows 7. Therefore, I was advised to download the latest driver for this device in advance; but its installation should only be performed after the installation of Windows 7.

Problem 1: what is the right driver for NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet (i.e., valid in Windows 7), and where can I download safely to (without viruses etc.)?  -J' did an extensive search on Google but couldn't find an answer I could understand.

Problem 2: The compatibility test also advised me to Uninstall Hardvarudiagnostikverktyg version 5.1.5144.16 (PC-Doctor, Inc.) before upgrading the computer to Windows 7. However, I couldn't find such a program in my PC! Therefore, How can I uninstall it properly? (Is this program might somehow hidden in the HP service package that performs the Test of full operation of my PC once a month? Moreover, would the HP package function test no more if this particular program have been eliminated?)

    You are the very welcome.

You must install this driver before chipset update to W7, if you do an upgrade "in place", because the driver is good for W7 and Vista.

If you make an own (custom) upgrade (not to keep all programs, files or settings), then you must install this driver after you upgrade to W7.

All this driver will do is update the drivers for the motherboard and ethernet (the devices listed in the driver file page).

Driver Ethernet (v73.14 +) tools for network management (v73.16) "Sedona" SATA IDE Driver (v11.1.0.33) WHQL SATA RAID Driver (v11.1.0.33) WHQL RAIDTOOL Application (v11.1.0.30) pilot SMBUS (v4.74) WHQL SMU (v1.71) driver driver WHQL of GPU (v190.38) Physx (v9.09.0428) WHQL Away Mode Driver (v6.0.6000.114) WHQL Installer (v7.57) WHQL.

It shouldn't cause any device to stop working.

  • His map does not work on HP Pavilion dv6707us laptop computer

Hello and thanks for any help in advance.

I've recently downgraded from Vista to XP Professional and everything went well, except for my audio.  The laptop has no sound and on the audio tab of dxdiag is listed at all.  In Device Manager, it lists the sound drivers I reinstalled (the same that were on it before the reinstallation of the OS), but this does not change the Conexant drivers in the "Sounds and Audio devices" page of XP.  I have already installed the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture; until I installed the UAA it wouldn't even get to install the Conexant High Definition Audio drivers.

So now I'm little at a loss to know what to do.  I need to know the its standard card that comes with the HP Pavilion dv6700us so that I can install the proper drivers.  Can any owner of one of these help me?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated, I'm going crazy!

    Hello

MS-UAA for SP2 (required with a reboot before the Audio driver and Modem) here

MS-UAA for SP3 (required with a reboot before the Audio driver and Modem) here

    Conexant High-Definition Audio here

Unzip it to a folder... Use the device, right click "Audio Device on HD" Manager, choose Update driver,
    Not to communicate,
Install from a list or specific location,
Select don't search, I will choose the driver to install.
For the hardware Type select 'show all devices '.
Remove control "Show compatible hardware" and click on 'disk '.
Next... Navigate to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
    Ignore XP when it complains.
    Reset.

    How can I do this?

In my view, that there a recovery partiotion.

Can I just boot into recovery and go from there?

    Hello

Yes, it should be how it would work.  You restart the PC and the HP welcome screen, press the F11 key to start the recovery process.

Make sure that you have backed up all your files, music, photos, etc. before reinstalling the operating system to its factory condition.

Everything that you put on there since you bought the laptop will be gone later.
