Pavilion dv6825er: CPU Upgrade dv6825er

Hello

What is the processor does support dv6825er HP Pavilion to upgrade?

Current processor is t5550 (667 MHz FSB) I can contruction to t7800 (800 MHz FSB) or t9600 (FSB 1066 MHz)?

Thank you

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

The top of the page processor is a T7500. The manual is a little confusing because she lists several Core 2 Duo like Core Duo and lists the other processors only as reference numbers. But if you're looking for the 2.2 ghz Core 2 Duo, which is the fastest on the list (p. 21), it turns out it's a T7500. T7500 is a 800 fsb processor. I would say that there is a chance the T7800 would work, but cannot guarantee.

I don't know that the T9600 will not work.

    Thank you

Units with Celeron processors have a card mother defeatured, who will not support a Core 2 Duo processor. Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 3-9. Celeron models have the 940GML chipset and it won't support a processor who has speed, not steps, which were the Core 2 Duo.

You could install a Celeron 440 at best. 945GM motherboards are very hard to find these days. You can confirm the model of your motherboard by opening the slot of memory and research modules. It should be painted stencil here.

  • Pavilion DV3-4060es: 4060es Pavilion DV3 CPU upgrade

    I tried to upgrade the laptop (pavilion dv3 4060es) i3 350M to i7 740QM cpu.

When I plug the processor I get no video.

I have the latest bios intalled (F.23, March 2016)

The service manual indicates that the i7 740QM is a compatible processor.

    What is a compatible processor?

What do I need to configure something in the BIOS before upgrade?

No, you make a very common mistake. You cannot just look at the list of processors and assume that one of the processors will work in all versions of this series. Look at page 17 of the manual. Different system cards are listed as follows:

For use only with Intel Quad Core processors 611348-001

For use only with Dual Intel processors Core and Core2-599414-001

For use only with Intel Quad Core processors (1 GB) 622627-001

For use only with Dual Intel processors Core and Core2-622626-001

So you need a motherboard Quad in order to install a Quad processor. The fan and the heat sink is the same. HP has more boards in stock so you would need to find one on eBay or contact an HP Reseller:

    https://parts.HP.com/hpparts/Search_Results.aspx?mscssid=01C0D3E563094BBDB6A52308534FEC3D & Searchin' = partnumber & SearchPN = 622627-001

I took a quick glance and came to look empty, but a little harder could turn into something.

I got this hp Pavilion a6000n friend and I basically rebuilt this computer, but I'm not sure what CPU I can go to. I've been watching this cpu for my computer. I am running windows 7 64 bit. This upgrade of the processor is possible for my computer?

Edit: I also watched this cpu, if the other cpu is too powerful.

    Here are the specifications of your HP Pavilion a6000n desktop computer and its card mother M2N68 - LA (narrated). Based on these specifications, this model supports the following processors;

    Type of socket: AM2
    TDP: 89 watt
Athlon 64 X 2 with Dual Core technology up to 5600 + (up to 89 watt)
    Athlon 64 4000 + less than
    Sempron less than 4000 +.

Neither the processors you listed works on this computer.

I get a HP Pavilion dv4000 laptop an Intel Pentium M 725 / 1.6 GHz I want to know is can I replace it with a 2 GHz processor? As you can do with DV6000 and DV9000 laptops?

If I can what would I look like part number

    Thank you

Yes, there is a compatible 2 ghz processor for this laptop. Actually a 2.13 ghz CPU

    Your manual

396700 001 is the part number.

    $13.50 shipped to Illinois:

It is always a 32-bit core processor so don't expect great things not but 1.6 to 2.13 ghz will be noticeable.

  • HP Pavilion DV6000 CPU upgrade question

    Hi, first post.

Just given a free laptop DV6000 and I like to tinker. Have built & modified several jobs over the years, but this is my first laptop.

Identify the first thing. Top screen bezel page HR said HP Pavilion DV6000

Said a slogan on bottom DV6700, but also DV6818CA (isn't it a Canadian cell phone, with a bilingual keyboard).

I think I'll give up the bilingual keyboard, because it lacks the F10 key they resemble only 15 dollars off Ebay in any case.

BUT, when I did a scan on Crucial.com memory, they said it was a Pavilion dv6700t series

Product # background is: KN948UA #ABC if this is useful it nail?

Googling the product # gives this hit: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01393353

It has 4 GB of RAM in it, right now and is under Win7 Home Premium.

I think to get the fastest processor that the Mobo can handle and stick it in there. At present, it has a @1 T2370. 73 Ghz, and from what I understand, I can put in the processor the faster is a T7800 @ 2.6 Ghz (if I read correctly)

    Link: http://ark.intel.com/compare/34445, 31729

Advice or direct experience anyone? Thanks in advance.

Oh, and PS, I had read that an update of the BIOS when running Win7 would brick of the PC, is it true?

I can easily get back to Vista and do an update of the BIOS in the first place, if necessary, the new processor, then reinstall Win7.

My BIOS version is F.52 24/03/2008

    Hello:

I must have missed reading your post.

It's because I don't watch that normally messages unanswered, and yours is as responded because you posted more than once until I woke up the next morning.

Your laptop may actually take the T9500 since you have an equal or superior to F.45 bios.

The release notes for F.45 State... Adds support for Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processors T8100, T8300, T9300, T9500.  Fixes the problem where the 1394 port may not work after the release of the standby mode.

Yes, you will definitely your laptop brick if you update the BIOS while running Windows 7.  You need to Flash the BIOS in Vista.

Memory... Yes, your PC will work happily 2 x 4 GB PC2 - 5300 or memory 6400. However, unlike the desktop version of the 965 chipset that manages the memory at 800 MHz, the mobile version runs only the memory at 667 MHz.

You can read that this related thread about memory in dv6500 + Intel models with the 965 chipset.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware-e-g-Windows-8/the-dv6700z-and-dv9700z-will-support-over-4GB-of-RAM/m-p/566163#M42472

The bad news is that if you have not already this memory (or you can get it at a steep discount), you will pay over $ 200 for 2 x 4 GB for memory that you need.

I would think more than twice before shelling out that kind of $$$ for the memory of a dated PC.

  • Pavilion a6457c CPU upgrade

You have a question.  I want to improve my a6457c with a faster processor.  The HP site says that the MOBO, M2N68-(Narra3), can handle a Phenom x 4 up to 9600 (95watts).  On the AMD website, they list a 9600, but a 9650 and 9750 with a TDP of 95 watts, so either would work?  A quick look at the new Phenom II x 4 also show several valued at 95 watts or more low and a higher speed.  Pheniom II x 4 925 is a 2.8 GHz with a 95 watt TDP, and even one of the Phenom II x 6, 1045 T, is rated at 95 watt TDP the 910e is a 2.6 GHZ to only 65 watts.  Can I use one of these, and which would be the best upgrade?  I intend to upgrade to maximum 8 GB RAM, new video card for playing games and use the HDMI on my screen, adding another HARD drive, maybe a 1 to 7200 RPM Seagate and a new power supply, since the cvideo cards that I'm looking for say they need about 450 Watts, I'm assuming continuous.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Erico.  Yes my HP came with Vista 64, so I'm good on the operating system with this MOBO up to 8 GB, Vista Home Premium 64 can address up to 16 GB, but the MOBO is the factor limiting it here.  I've heard of someone here on the Panel with a Phenom II x 4 945, 3.0 GHZ, with success, so I think I'll go with it, no need to risk the amount of $ on the x 6.

  • G6-1262sa Pavilion: Pavilion g6-1262sa CPU upgrade v2, Sandy Bridge = > Ivy Bridge?

Hi, thanks to the Pavilion g6-1262sa maintenance and manual cleaning and this great forum, I recently discovered that replace my i3-2330 m is possible with all sandy bridge i7 2620m processors.

These questions may sound silly, but I continued my research and I have more ideas to confront reality as a couple.

I realize that the compatibility is not only matter of editing the same socket, but also of the bios installed on certain motherboard, however:

    1. do you think it would be possible to Exchange Sandy Bridge (2nd generation) i3 - 2330 m for some Ivy Bridge (3rd generation) i5-3210 m?

2 is the 32nm to 22nm manufacturing technology enough difference on its own (even if the rest of the architecture is the same) to prevent that to work?

3 is the bios from my card mother g6 identyfying somehow installed processor? (if this isn't on 'the list' it simply won't work? "or what technical compatibility issue?

According to some statements which I found it on some forums and sites (and a few facts documented free):

Socket: the two processors are compatible with BGA1023 decision-making. (at least that's what I found, if someone could confirm I would be grateful)

Difference of architecture: "The 3rd generation is called 'Ivy Bridge' and is essentially a copy of Sandy Bridge made on a smaller scale, or die." However, Intel also focused on beefing up of the onboard graphics in this generation. »

    TDP: both are 35 W

Carrots: both are 2 physical (Virtual 4 - thanks to hyperthreading I guess?)

Energy consumption: "Ivy Bridge CPUS also use less energy", "Ivy Bridge consumes less energy; around 10w, I think. »

    Temperature: i5-3210 m going 5 * C more - 2330 m - i3 shouldn't make much difference

Looking forward to some responses, RacA

It is not a technical incompatibility (socket) because as you probably know Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge are backward compatible on most motherboards desktop. However, HP has only implemented gen 2d, processor Intel Core compatibility of the HM65 Express chipset that you a. motherboards supporting 3rd gen processors use the HM77 chipset. There is no another motherboard that will fit in your frame.

Your analysis above, which was pretty good, left out the chipset, which you must always remember when assessing the possibilities of upgrade:

    http://www.CPU-upgrade.com/MB-Intel_%28chipsets%29/HM65_Express.html

The HM65 supports a couple 3rd gen processors, but none of them are on the list of HP for your model. You can try one of those shown in the link I gave, but I think that there is a small chance that they will work.

  • Pavilion G7 1250sa: upgrade CPU HP Pavilion G7

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion G7 1250sa, and I am wanting to upgrade the processor.

Product code for my laptop is: QH586EA #ABU

The current CPU is a Pentium B950 (low-end).

I checked the manual (here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03538328.pdf) and I am wanting to move to a processor Intel Core i5 - 2540 M 2.60 GHz, which is one of the options shown in the manual for this laptop.

What I want to know is:

    • Are all the processors Intel Core i5 - 2540 M 2.60 GHz the same? I have a home but you don't want to end up with a processor for the wrong socket type or something else.
    • Y at - he of the prerequisites that must be done prior to upgrading the processor? I have upgrade recent BIOS such as recommended somewhere else, but can't find any other information on the other than simply swapping upgrade process.

    Thank you very much

    Ben

    Hello

Firstly all "all processors Intel Core i5 - 2540 M 2.60 GHz" are the same, and secondly, it is safe to install on your machine i5 - 2540M, because:

    (a) you BIOS is up to date,

    (b) old CPU and new CPU are on the same "boat" as shown in the following table:

    http://www.CPU-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Pentium_Dual-Core_Mobile/B950.html
