• Pavilion g6-1d21dx: what is the latest BIOS for my Pavilion G6?

  Details, please! I was told on this forum that I had to upgrade the BIOS for my Pavilion g6-1d21dx to a F.48 version, which seems to be the last being available on the product page. However, the BIOS currently on my machine is version F.49. F.49 would be not newer than a F.48? Can someone explain the discrepancy and tell me if there are significant differences between the two versions of the BIOS?

  I ended up installing the BIOS revision F.46, because this revision restores the ability of the computer to enter and exit the sleep and hibernation modes, which was broken in a future revision of the BIOS (which has been a HUGE source of frustration). In the absence of other information on the revisions of the BIOS, I recommend that users go with revision F.46. The 32-bit version of Windows 10 works beautifully with F.46 on my g6-1d21dx Pavilion.

  My girl accidentally installed an administrative password on his cell phone. I fix computers so when she brought to me by saying she had a password problem, I assumed it was a windows password and told him that I could take care of it without problem. Imagine my dismay and disappointment when I told him it was an admin password and a lot more trouble. in any case, after trying 3 differnent possibilities it comes up with code 59123542.   You can remove the need for a password as follows.

  Shut down the laptop.  Now on TAP the ESC key as soon as you press the power button to access the start menu, then select f10 to open the Bios menu.  Use the arrows to select the Security tab and press ENTER.  Use the arrow keys again to select the password option and press ENTER.  Enter the current password and then the new password, simply leave this blank and press on enter - do the same for the confirmation field.  Press f10, select this option to save the new settings and press to enter.

  Can someone please help me to reset my BIOS admin password.  I know it's stupid, but when I got my laptop 5 years ago for some silly reason, I thought it was a good idea to set an admin password.   5 years later, I need to change my setting of virtualization in the BIOS and surprise!  I'm stuck with absolutely no idea what password I used.
