PDF files are unreadable

I am currently using Adobe Reader 9.2 on a windows xp system.  For many years, I had no problem with Adobe Reader.

Currently a lot of pdf files is completely illegible, with some headings appearing normally, but most of the sections filled with garbage - ASCII characters that appear randomly.  You can see in the attached jpg file.

Curiously, if I copy some of the garbage from Adobe Reader text and paste it into a Notepad text reader, the text comes out perfectly readable.  In addition, PDFs that are produced in a format (not character) more photographic are perfectly readable.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled adobe Reader twice with no change in the behavior of the program.  I guess I have a mysterious conflict of fonts, but I can't understand it.

What is going on?

Open the PDF in a text editor, report, what is said. Maybe the files become corrupt before coming to you.

  • pdf files are displayed on white background with horizontal and vertical lines blue

    Hello

When you open in Adobe Pro pdf saved locally, they are displayed on a white sheet with blue squares (see below). This is true for all the PDF files I tried to open it. If the pdf document is opened in a Web browser, and then it appears on the white paper with no squares. Once it is saved locally and open, it appears as shown below. How can I get all the pdf appear on a white background with no blue stripes? It's distraction very during playback! If irrelevant, I installed windows update yesterday.

    Press Ctrl + U.

  • PDF files are not in the list of applications preferences, pdf does not load

I use Cougar and have Adobe reader installed 10.1.4. When I click on a site to download a pdf file, I get a white screen and no download (well before mountain lion) I went to the screen preferences/applications and pdf is not listed in the list of the app. How can I seem to me there so that I can assign an action to use the reader to open it.

With earlier versions of Mac OS, some users have reported that they should disable the Acrobat plugin in Firefox and fall back on the Mac's default PDF reader when this happens. To try this, use

Tools > Modules > Plugins category

It works on the Mountain Lion?

Regarding preferences, it is difficult to manually change the settings (mimeTypes.rdf) file, so hopefully it won't be necessary.

  • Help me! All my text in PDF files are Magenta and it drives me crazy!

My printer ran out of black ink, so I somehow a way to change the black to 100% magenta text in order to print. Apparently, Adobe has retained this setting, and now every time I open a PDF file, all text is magenta. I do not remember for the life of me how I changed it in the first place, and I can't figure out how to restore it. I went in ' Advanced > Print Production > convert colors "and tried many combinations to try to recover it, but it did not work. I have a feeling that's not what I did in first place (also given that printing does not always work after the change), so I think I did something in all options 'View '. Someone knows how to fix this? It drives me crazy. Thank you!
