Photo Gallery does not open

I can get a preview of the photos, but when I click on "Go to the Gallery", it goes on the desktop, but it doesn't do anything.  The same thing happens when I try to open the photo gallery from the desktop and the Start Menu shortcut.  All ideas

Seems the photo library has been replaced by windows live essentials 2011.

Remove delete real estate ads on your desktop or start menu, right click and select delete or remove from this list.

Click the Start button, and then click all programs.

Scroll down for a live windows folder, click on it and living library should be indicated, do a right click to open or left click if your mouse has been configured this way.

You could be in a program, now you don't recognize,

Welcome to windows live Gallery :)

  • Windows Photo Gallery does not open the zipped files

Photo Gallery Windows does not open the photos that are in the zipped files received by Email. He said: Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video. This file format is not supported, or you do not have the latest updates to the photo gallery.

    This is expected behavior...

Unzip the file and open the uncompressed version. Or just open

drop in a new folder.then you can open.

For Windows Photo Gallery... just change the path:

    %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows photo Gallery

After Renaming Pictures.pd4 you will need to re-catalogue
your photos. If rename Pictures.pd4 does not resolve the
problem... you can delete the new file Pictures.pd4 and
change the name of the original file to Pictures.pd4
    and the catalog is restored.

In later versions of Windows Live Photo Gallery...
the name of the file is Pictures.pd5. John Inzer - MS - MVP - digital media experience

  • Photo Gallery Windows and Windows Live Photo Gallery will not open

Windows Photo Gallery does not open. This happened after trying to import images. Photo Gallery does not recognize the old photos so it would import duplicates, so I kept cancelling the process. Now it does not open. The blue circle goes as it will open up and then nothing happens. I downloaded Windows Live Photo Gallery, and it opens either. I have Windows Vista Home Premium version 6. On rare occasions, the gallery will open. What can I do? I read in this forum to rename the file, but it does not work. I did a system restore and that doesn't work anymore. Someone knows what can be done?

Number 4) helped to me exactly the same problem:
I just removed the folder my pictures from the picture library and put again; I'm guessing that the reindexing did the trick.

Although a little concerned why this happens in the first place. I have absolutely nothing: he worked 2 (*) days, then no new program installed, not even new photos imported, maybe some updates for Windows and kaboom. Everything disappeared from the Photos app (everything from my computer, SkyDrive worked all the time.)

(*) My installation of Windows 8 is now 5 days old. It took 2.5 days to find this answer. Uninstall + Reinstall and other stuff suggested did not help.

  • Photo Gallery will not open picture

After screwing around upgrading to windows 10 and then find that it did not some of the things that I assumed that it would report to Windows 7, I went back to Windows 7.

I just now tried opening a photo gallery file (not open for a long time prior) that has been in my computer has always been initially created on/with Photo Gallery, and I'm now greeted with this message:

"Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video.  This file format is not supported or you do not have the latest updates of photo gallery"

What is going on?  How can I get the latest updates to the photo gallery to see if this is the solution I'm looking for?

    I'd install fresh from http://get.live.com.

All Windows 7 is indeed postponed to 10 Windows, it's just not by default.  For example, after having upgraded the default image program could change with the new application, but you can always switch to the viewer of Windows 7. But that applies to all parts of it.  You can do basically Windows 10 stay exactly like 7 If you want to. Example:
