Photos for printing RGB separation

Hello

I have a picture in RGB, where I turned off the red channel. I want to silkscreen printing the Green and blue channels. How can I separate a rgb photo?

Thank you!

Markus

You can just create the RGB color separations, you will need to convert it into custom channels.

  1. Go to your channels Panel and select the blue channel.
  2. Use the Panel menu to duplicate the blue layer "copy".
  3. Repeat for the green channel 'Green Copy'.
  4. Go to Mode > and convert to CMYK (you don't have to flatten).
  5. Go to file > print and color management > color handling choose "Separations."
  6. From there you can choose markers, crop, emulsion down or negative marks, etc.

  • Organize the placement and the order of the photos for print or the web

This is something that I expected with the first Lightroom and it always seems to be awkward to the point 2.3...

Basically, there seems not to be a way we can simply click and drag the photos we want to be together and to make orders of our choice. The closest I could find is in photo package mode in the Print section. What is frustrating, is that when I select most of the other models, I can't just move the photos I want grouped together to where I wish they were. On the flip side, when in image mode package and I fill the frames by dragging pictures of them, unlike the datasheet grid of contact, we can't move the photo in this period of...

My understanding of Lightroom, it was that it makes it easy for photographers to deal with their photos. For me, I wish I could just move and group for print and web to see how fluidly complement the images and flow whatever the tag, a name of file or selected at random order.

I can't imagine I'm the only one with this frustration, is there a cure?

You can simply drag and drop pictures on the background movie Strip and change the order in this way. Œuvres unique photos and groups (shift-click to select).

  • Non-CMYK for printing color separation

    Hello
This is one of my first posts here - I hope that I do not too bad.

I checked a few threads here, looking for prospects and has already made a few discoveries but my question remains.

I have done a few trials with a Ricoh printer and am struggling a bit with the reproduction of photographs. The printer, I work with prints a color at the time: Blue (nearby), yellow (very similar to the yellow treatment), rather dark green red (close to Pantone 032), bright and black.
So far I've used the CMYK color separation (and rather rough halftone), substitute blue and magenta red cyan, but the pictures come out, logically enough, more orange than they should be.

So my question is: you know a way to divide an image into a given set of colors? (here, I guess it would be blue, red, yellow, and the black with the fact that I can print)

Please let me know if you have any ideas!
    Thank you

All external print services must have a service to transfer your files to selected image from your computer, without needing to use another software.

You just create a temporary folder on the desktop where you store the batch of files to download.

To prepare for this lot, the smart way is to use the Organizer.

You select your files (perhaps in an album)

You "export" your files in the folder in the temporary office, after selecting the right size, compression, image format. Your change of name if you wish. This way, you have the right size for optimal quality and without excess weight for the upload.

Your service outside, you download the content of your temporary desktop folder.

  • Resize a photo for printing (proportions)

Hi, I hope someone can help me with something that seems like it should be very simple, but I can't seem to understand.

When I matter my photos from my DSLR in Bridge and then open in Photoshop the image size vary, but the typical size is 16 "x 22" and I want to be able to print the full image as an 8 'x 10' without cropping or lose parts of the picture. "  Is there a way to do this?  When I am trying to reduce the size of the image, the measures never come out to 8 "x 10", sometimes it gets indeed not small and large. "  I even tried resizing the canvas and which makes it worse.

Ideally, once I got this figured out I would try to do something so that I can prepare several photos at the same time.

    Thank you :-)

The proportions are different between 16 x 22 and 8 x 10, so you'll need to crop or add to the image. I wrote in this blogelongation.

  • B & W photo for printing of 100K

I need to produce a ready pdf through a black and white photograph. This is a reproduction of an old poster containing a bit of small print. The file is very high resolution, but again, I think that it is best printed from a single plate to avoid registration issues.

How should I prepare this file for placement in InDesign? Should I do a CMYK file with the image in the K channel only, empty C, M and Y? If I place an image in grayscale, this result in a 4 c will be black when I export to PDF?

Profile CMYK itself is confirmed ISO Coated v2 300% (eci). If I place in grayscale, is fattening of 15% to the right to use?

Don't leave as grayscale. Shades of gray always export or print for black iron unchanged as long as the output destination is CMYK. If you put on the black plate in Photoshop, you can get 4 color conversion you want to avoid (for example, if you were to use a CMYK destination profile contradictory on export or print).

Profile CMYK itself is confirmed ISO Coated v2 300% (eci). If I place in grayscale, is fattening of 15% to the right to use?

In Photoshop, the gray profile adjusts the preview, not the exit numbers, so if ISO Coated v2 (eci) 300% is the right profile for the CMYK, it will also be the only one to use for the grey profile. You can load in PS via color settings > Working Space Gray > load gray... then choose ISO Coated

  • Best practices in preparing a picture for printing or Web site?

I use Photoshop for more than 15 years, but my knowledge is limited to a few tools I needed: color correction, contrast and density correction, cropping and occasional sharpening. While working with the photo editing software in the newspaper where I work (I don't use Photoshop, just at home), I noticed that its preparing images for printing always achieved results beyond what I've accomplished. I asked him what was his procedure Basic, but for some reason, he did not. I heard once him using channels in the inhancement of the image, which I do not know anything for another photographer. His images also have a freshness which does not resemble the typical photo where the blur has been applied. In other words I don't see this halo effect where a light area meets a dark area.

Yes, I found tons of tutorials general Photoshop on the Web, but have not found one that guides me through the actual steps to prepare a photo for printing. Same problem with the preparation of photos for use on the Web. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Something common to improve journal crispy is getting black contrast and sharpness. You can change the black channel of a CMYK image or go to the lab and ramp to the top of sharpness and contrast on the L channel.

    Hello Hashim,

Start by stopping and restarting your system.  Then, download and install the latest Windows Vista drivers for your printer.  Test again and let me know what happens.

Original title: How can I get a driver for an Epson Stylus Photo 950 printer that works with Windows 7?

    Hello

    http://www.Epson.co.UK/printers-and-all-in-ones/inkjet/Epson-Stylus-Photo-950/drivers-support?target=article&Extn=.html&articleid=3394

This article from Epson says that the driver is included in Windows 7.

I don't see any info out there that clearly explains how to add it.  It simply States that you must go to "add a printer".  Looks like you already did this well.

I would say following upward with support from Epson to see if they can offer some better instructions. Want to know if your hardware current & software will work with Windows 7? Click on these links: *Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor * *Windows 7 Compatibility Center*.

  • How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

After reading dozens of forum, I not yet found the answer.

I made a photo album with full-colur and b & w photos for Offset print. I want to be for the b & w grayscale avoid the hues of colors possible. It seems that InDesign does not support the shades of gray, how images become dark. Even with export without any conversion of color or the destination and/or including profiles of original colors, the images are exported to obscurity as a PDF to grayscale.

How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

Yes, Photoshop & ID CMYK working spaces are the same

This can become difficult because 3 programs manage proofing differently.

Work spaces don't matter, document profiles that handle the preview. So here's the same image in grayscale, placed in the ID on the top and PS on the bottom. I put my info in Photoshop to display the profile of doc in the lower left corner. I can see the profile of my InDesign CMYK Document in my test format (CMYK work is different and is not used). The two profiles are actually the same coated FOGRA39 (Black Ink FOGRA in the case of the PS).

But the previews do not match because I disabled, so the preview InDesign is Gamma 2.2 or a "screen" media preview overprinting.

If I turn on overprint preview, I get a match because I'm soft proofing for printing:

  • How can I send altered photos of 12 elements of Costco for printing?

New user and have verified all information training...   How can I send altered photos of 12 elements of Costco for printing?  Shutterfly is only offered as an option.  Or how can I export in "my photos" or thumb drive?

If you do not have the special edition of costco (whereby cases you should see costco in order prints option), if the photos are in the Organizer, use file > export as new files to send to your USB key, if that's what you want to do, or export them to a folder on your desktop, go to the website of costco and point this folder for the download of their software. If you do not use Organizer, just save the files to a folder on your desktop and do the same thing.
