• Photoshop CS5 crashes when I open it and that's after I installed the update

  Hi all

  I use PS CS5 on my MacBook Pro (OS X.5.8), but everytime I open the program it hangs and stops after the second command.  I did a little research and I read on the TWAIN files, then I threw the a folder that I had.  But it was not useful.  I've updated the program and who has not solved the problem.  Can someone suggest an answer?  I even tried to call the ADOBE customer service... I waited 45 minutes on hold and has never failed to speak with a live human being.

  Photoshop uses OpenGL to some things that are not so you turn it off, but most of the time Photoshop works perfectly.  You will miss things include:

  • ALT-right click and drag the mouse to change the size of Brush/hardness show you a preview of your brush size/toughness, just an overview.
  • Good zoom and pan.
  • Some of the extended edition 3D features.
  • Some improvements in performance on the screen.

  Adobe has done a great job to do almost all work Photoshop well without OpenGL, but I encourage you to visit the following site and download the latest video drivers for your card.  We can clear up all the problems of Photoshop and, possibly, others you don't know that you still have.

  Most likely, you need to calibrate your monitor. Photoshop uses for accurate color calibrations, more even than other applications, which will apply to color "Monitor." If you go to the PS, and select view > test format > RBG monitor, the color will very probably seems correct, but it means that you are correct on a non calibrated screen images and other people could see your images as color stop.

  So, in my words, your picture has not changed somehow in Photoshop. There is no sense and doesn't matter the number of ppi. The important numbers are pixels.

  I have something even. JPEGs are fine, naves are a few weeks ago 1.5 stop underexposed. It only happens with LR and Photoshop. Not with Nikon View or Capture. It only happenes when I use the d-lighting option active with one of my Nikon several. Is equivalent to your problem or is there something else?

  • Open PS
  • Then open Preferences - performance and uncheck CPU chart use
  • Restart PS
  • If the above step does not try to re-create again PS preferences
    • To restore preferences quickly by using a keyboard shortcut: press and hold Option + command + shift as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings.

  Not turning off"use graphics processor" in the Performance preference and restarting Photoshop have a bearing on the issue.

  Hi John.

  The notebook is not the program to open the images in. Notepad is exactly what it sounds like as a small program to take notes on.

  Open your images in a browser or photo viewer program.

  Open your my pictures location, click on organize in the upper left corner, click folder and search options, click the view tab and uncheck the top option, always display icons and never thumbnails, select apply and save.

  Return to your location of my pictures, change the display of the page on the top of the right side next to the question mark symbol, there is another symbol with a menu drop-down symbol, click it and select the medium or large icons options specified.

  Go install the updates to Photoshop CS5 - you have not installed one any of them, and the first update solved the bug of printing that you are experiencing.
