  Regarding the download, the correct trial version going, you should be able to manage on the link below.  If you have made a purchase and bought a Windows license so it is not valid for a Mac installation.  You will need to contact the Support from Adobe when they go bacvk vacation to see about getting the correct license.

  I guess it depends where you bought Photoshop Elements. Did you buy it from a retailer or directly from Adobe?

  Thanks for the suggestion, but it made no difference.

  However, by trail and error, I found a solution to 99%.

  Right-click on the desktop, the icon of elements.

  Select Troubleshoot Compatibility.

  Select troubleshoot program

  Select a problem (I used the other)

  Select the Version of Windows (Windows 8 for me)

  Select the Test program

  If it works, which he did in my case, save the settings.

  This seems to have solved my problem, except that I now get an extra screen at the opening of the elements to allow the program to make changes to my computer. I can live with that.

  When I get time I will check if there is any Adobe or updates to Windows that will make this unnecessary step.

  I hope this helps other people with the same problem.

• When I download a jpg in Photoshop elements Editor, the file is stored in Documents & Settings / My Name/Local Settings/Temp but I can't find this place on my computer.

  The photos are attached to e-mail messages. I can go as far as documents and settings and my name, but he has not shown Local Settings folder.   The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder.

  Tools > Folder Options > view tab

  Scroll down and look for the box on the hidden files and folders and display them.

  (3) in addition, you may be able to save images from the e-mail message to a more convenient location by double-clicking on the links and Save Link As (before you open them for editing.)
