    You crop in the PDF?

I'm not 100% certain that your problem is, so tell me if I'm wrong. In my example below, I have a cropped PDF. If I placer place in InDesign, and then select crop to: Bounding Box (as in your example), the entire image is available. Cropping in Acrobat is temporary and may be uncropped. When I choose the harvest: harvest (as in my example), it happens only with acreage (in my case, the part in the framing box).

Play with these settings to see if you get the desired results and report.

  • Place several PDF files (or a folder of PDF files) into an InDesign document

    Hello

I know there are several scripts to place multipage Pdf into InDesign.

Based on these scripts I've done myself who place a PDF file with multiple pages in the form of a chart online where the name of the PDF file is inserted as a Cape.

Works very well. But when I want to import files PDF 20 I have to run this script 20 times, which is not very practical.

I'm looking for, so a way choose a folder in which are several PDF files that will be placed inside 1 ID doc.

    Any suggestions?

    function getPDFs(){

        if (f != null){

  • Problems with the placement of PDFs in CS4

I recently upgraded to CS4. I'm having a problem when I place a pdf in indesign CS4. When I place the PDF changes the size of the pdf file. For example, I'm trying to put a pdf file which is in 3.5 by 4.75 in. When I place it in CS3 it keeps the same size. When I put in CS4, it changes the size of 4.515 in by in 6,125. I looked at the preferences options import. I have searched for it and I can't understand how to solve this problem.

Image by placing the behavior has undergone a radical change between CS3 and CS4. In CS4 when you click and drag a slider to place the image will evolve to adapt to the resulting image. If you click on and release, it will be set to 100%. If you put in an existing framework, it will come in according to the options of adjustment applied to the frame.

  • Mysterious lines in exported PDF in Indesign

I apologize if this has already been answered, but I couldn't find an answer anywhere.

I'm working on preparing a book for a child shown in Indesign. I created all the drawings in Illustrator, and they are complex, multilayered illustrations with lots of patterns and layers.

For my Indesign layout, I have linked to a different Illustrator work plan on each page.

When I export the Indesign layout in PDF format, some of the designs have small lines to what I think are the edges of the boss. There is an example in the green box below. It is confusing, because these do not appear in the original Illustrator designs or layout Indesign, only in the PDF export.

    Screen Shot 2016-02-04 at 1.33.07 PM.png

How can I avoid this? I'm following recommended insofar as the workflow? I get the same result when I save the illustrator to PDF work plans and then place the pdf file in Indesign.

If you try to control upstream the print files you really need AcrobatPro

  • Why can't open my pdf using InDesign?

I need to modify a PDF file. My editor has used InDesign to build the pdf file. However, I can't open the file...

You can place a PDF file in an InDesign document, but you cannot modify it. You must do this within the original InDesign document and export it to PDF again.

If you have Acrobat Pro, you can make a very small amount of textual changes, such as changing of a price or a date.

  • Question to export PDF from Indesign book Blurb - color change

    Hello

This is my first post on the Adobe forum.

I have a problem when you export a PDF file that is intended to be printed for a book Blurb. The Preview on the site blurb is very different from my PDF in terms of colors.

    This is my workflow:

-All my photos are converted to CMYK blurb (via photoshop) color profile and saved as TIFF.

-J' I put all my pictures on my layout in Indesign CS6 (which also has the color of the text of presentation profile)

    - Then I set the PDF export preset that Blurb has provided (the profile description [based on 'Blurb PDF X - 3 Export Preset'] [based on ' [PDF / X-3: 2002]'] use these parameters to create Adobe PDF documents that should be verified or must conform to PDF / X-3: 2002, an ISO standard for graphic content exchange.)  For more information on the creation of PDF/X-3 compliant PDF documents, please visit the Acrobat User Guide.  Created PDF documents can be opened with Acrobat and Adobe Reader 4.0 and later.]

-C' is where the problem begins: if I read the PDF with Adobe reader, it seems very well (i.e. I see on my screen of Indesign) SEE IMAGE 1. But if I look at the preview of the PDF on the Blurb Book Preview module it looks like really bad (see IMAGE 2).

    So my question is:

What might explain my PDF looks so different from the preview Blurb and what step should I take to fix this problem?

Blurb people have no idea so I hope that the Adobe community can help me!

    Thank you in advance!

    Vincent

IMAGE 1: as seen on PDF when read with Adobe reader

    1 a- What I see on PDF - Blurb settings using Acrobat.jpg

IMAGE 2: as seen on the text of presentation preview module.

IMAGE 2 - same pdf as viewed on foxit reader.jpg

I recommend that place your images in InDesign as sRGB (you need to go back to the original images, not those who are already converted to CMYK). When you have finalized your document InDesign export presets PDF Acrobat, by selecting the text of presentation PDF presets (that you have installed). You can view the PDF result using Acrobat on your own (probably calibrated monitor).

  • A customer told me we can open and edit PDFs inside InDesign CS5.5

    Hello

I have a problem with a customer, she told me that she can edit PDFs with InDesign CS5.5 so far.

I check on his computer, and now she had a mistake (in french): pdf file is not supported a module is maybe missing.

On the web, I realized you can import pdf files, but you cannot edit them with InDesign unless you use PDF2ID a sales module.

If she's telling me the truth? Edit is possible and his InDesign is broken, or you cannot change PDFs inside InDesign?

    Thank you for your help.

You can place a PDF file in an InDesign document, but you cannot modify it. You can make small amounts of editing PDF documents in Acrobat Pro.

I wonder if your client is thought to an Acrobat form, where users can add data to text boxes and so on.

    Just a thought.

  • How to import an Adobe PDF in InDesign?

I'm new to InDesign.  Can I use an existing Adobe PDF document that I created from a Word file to start?

You can place the PDF files in InDesign documents, but the result is not editable.

You can place Word and RTF files directly into an InDesign document.

If you no longer have access to the Word document, you can export the PDF to Word in Acrobat Pro or buy a third party plugin for InDesign to convert InDesign PDF directly.

  • When you place an image in InDesign, it seems pixelated.  It is a 66 MB file in a 6 x 9 "paper.

I'm new to InDesign, I created all of my documents for printing in Acrobat PDF format.  When I place an image, it will appear pixelated.

    Hello

This is an expected behavior, when you place an image in InDesign, then it displays a preview of the image but you has no impact of the exit, unless the image is of low resolution itself.

In order to have the correct resolution of images, you can switch to view > display performance > high quality.

  • interactive PDF in indesign by hypertext links caveat

create ads that are interactive pdf in indesign with Hypertext and e-mail links links and now we are assembling the document back together in the form of a book, but on the import of the PDF in indesign, we get the

Warning: 'this file can contain the most recent extensions or the information that this viewer can support. He can't open display correctly and cannot be changed. »

When the PDF any hyperlinks on text work, but the hyperlinks on the images disappeared?

    Using the version cs5 v7.0.4

If I read this correctly, you make a wrong assumption. You are assuming that if you have a PDF file with interactivity, that when you place in InDesign, it will retain its interactivity. This is false. This workflow will not work. InDesign does NOT read interactivity when placing a PDF file.

  • Can't print PDF from InDesign after update Microsoft anni

Hi all, since the anni update I was unable to print PDFS from InDesign. No matter if I put PDF for default printer or use the option "Microsoft in PDF format; what I get is: "printing error: Adobe Print Engine failed at the end of your data due to an unknown problem. Sometimes it will print a little less than half of a 60-page document and that's all - it fails (but I get a PDF of that half...). Sometimes, it just goes straight to the error.

Anyone know what is happening on our how to fix? I have a deadline...

    See you soon

    Steve

Hi Dov, thanks for the reply. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I use export when I want to send it to the printing press. However, at this point, I am willing to create a test that is reduced file size and allows me to put all 60 pages of the document in a gap of seven pages using the print option of 3 x 3 thumbnails per page. It gives me a manageable file to send to several people for the document of proof and, at this stage, the output of high quality is not necessary.

However, I seem to have solved my problem:

As mentioned, the document prints 1-27 on a 60 page document (print, failed on page 28).

The paper would not print the range 27-60, when I tried later.

The document will print 30-60 range.

Therefore, the problem lies in pages 27 and 28. I've got rid of the pdf linked to two pages and tried work a print - it worked. then, of course, my problem lies in one of the PDFs linked to each page 27 or 28. It turns out that when I opened the linked PDF (sent to me as a PDF from another company as an advertisement) on page 28 in PS, PS automatically rasterized image, I recorded to a location different, re-related in InDesign, and guess what - it worked. I got the impression that I asked who had already failed.

So, this boiled down to a single work of art linked PDF requiring a pixelation...

    All the best
