Placement of master page footer

HR 11 Webhelp

Our master page footer text looks good in a shaded border, but there seems to be no way to set the distance of the border from the help content. I was able to adjust the distance 1) removing the shadow & border and 2) by selecting the text and adjusting the spacing above 18 pxparagraph.  Well, it seems so simple.

Is there a way to:

  • set the distance of a help content footer border (the border is a property of footer and doesn't seem to be selected), or
  • better, perhaps, to put the footer at the bottom of the window of the browser of the user

Also, is 18 PX, considered a good space below the content, or if anyone has seen a different recommendation?

Thank you

If you use the #footer CSS selector, you can do what you want:

#footer {}

top of the margin: 18px;

}

to set as a top margin 18px.

Personally, I would have put in 1.5em (16px x 1.5) over a distance. It is more than a row height, but enough to indicate that it is part of the content.

Kind regards.

    Hello

You are facing this problem because the footer element shows below the slideshow.

You must create a new layer in the tab layers.

Move the items from the footer to the top layer, and you should be all set.

For this you just have to click on elements of footer and select "Move to the layer" and select the top layer.

Please let me know if you still any help on this.

How to make scrolling text or twisties work in the footer of a master page section?

We try to add drop-down text menu / twisties in footer of each topic so that our clients can access company, product, technical support of any subject information. To do this, the most logical is to change the master page and add content in the footer.

    We have these main sections:

But when I open the master page in the main editing view, the ability to add the drop-down list feature is grayed out inside HR.

I tried to create the footer drop-down content in a separate test topic and then copy and paste directly into the master page. HR removes such content from the minute I'm trying to save him, leaving only the related topics. Example of text that is deleted:

Are there workarounds to accomplish twisties on a section of the footer of a master page without using an external .js file?

I may try a road .jquery if I can't get HR to behave, but would like to just use the page master itself without other files.

I finally got drop downs working inside a .hts which is then inside the .htt footer section.

I discovered that the problems in the CSS I posted in the pictures above are attributable mainly from my own CSS problems.

However, when I tried to add images twistie, bad new...

Twisties are all or nothing in RoboHelp. You apply all the drop Downs or None.

That won't work for us, since our footer is a background more dark.

So I created my own downfall personalized stockings with jQuery and CSS.

    And they worked!

    Well well, mostly...

Long story short: it has been a painful week and the other half, mostly spent trying to get this .hts of footer to the appearance and behavior of the way I want it too in my chm. I had to do a LOT of trial and error and additional testing to figure out something that works.

    Things I've learned:

    • Square pegs can go in the round holes with a lot of hammering and a lot of mess.
    • CHMS are old. They are not easier to work with when it comes to the use of styles. Many things are not taken in charge you can do in a normal browser.
    • Under the hood CHMS use IE 7, so you have to use CSS that matches that version.
    • You can work around some limitations that HR requires using methods and tool parts.
    • Use a repository. If you make a mistake or fall a path that you want to cancel or put on the shelf for later, you can do it easily. (I'm really happy that I did. I could come and go between my revisions and see what the code worked and which did not easily).
    • In a repository, use a test project that mimics your production project, including the folder structure, but on a much smaller scale you can do faster chm builds. (I got my footer to work Monday, but when I moved it into our real project, the footer did not work on CHMS in subfolders. So I had to build a workaround for this. I would have seen previously had I better imitated my directory structure.)
    • Don't get so sucked into approach that you neglect other tools or methods that might be simpler. (I spent a good amount of time trying to get HR drop downs working in HR footer when jQuery, once I figured how to make, provided a simpler approach.)

Result of my footer (with custom twisties and drop downs in expansion):

  • Master page footer FrameMaker 12 tab stops

I use FrameMaker 12 for the first time (other versions used in the past). On the master page to the right, I press tab twice and two variables can be inserted in the footer. On the pages of body, the text is cut off on the right. To fix it, I had to remove the tab centered on the master page, leaving only the right-aligned tab. This should not have been necessary. Why the text aligned on the right-align tab stop to cut?

    What are:

    1. Dimensions & units of the footer frame
    2. exact values (& units of tab stops
    3. Justification of the Pará to footer
    4. Column value 1 and roommate side heads in the footer para
    5. fonts used (including OTF, TTF, PFM file type)

I have sometimes seen behavior strange edge right tab-image in previous framework FMs. mess certainly content tab R if he thinks that the tab stop is beyond the edge of the image (it lets you set the tab stop like that, but you will reduce the image size later).

Affecting the tab stop R 0.01 less than the size of the image it corrects generally. My random guess, is that he might have something to do with rounding off FM show in the dialogues compared to what he actually internally stores.

  • Blocks of text on the Master Pages with CS3?

I produce a catalog in CS3 on my Mac using OS Mavericks.

I put in place of master pages with square 6 graphic blocks on each page. Each of them has a CAPTION below, in which I put up as a block of text. I clicked on "Apply Master pages", but when I go to the blocks of text pages are not displayed to the top. The only way I can enter captions on pages is by creating new blocks of text, 6 on each page, which is very tedious and time consuming. What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you.

    Welll...

As bob says it is not Quark where you can just click to type in a main frame, but you CAN Cmd + Shift + click to override the main chassis and type in it. You might be better off, however, with a framework prédimensionnée and style in a library that you can drag onto the page and position. My feeling on frameworks masters get substitution is that they probably shouldn't be on the master page at all.

  • With two-page master pages

    Who is affected:

I often create double pages that best suit our needs if they appear side by side.  For these two pages, I would also use handy master of InDesign pages features.  I create a master page to the right and the left, but when I anchor the two pages as a simple spread, elements of right master page appear on both pages.  Is anyway to make sure the pages document reflects the master pages mirrored?  If only I did these pages sometimes, I simply give up the master page feature and place the master page items in the pages of document themselves.  I do, however, several pages a week, so I was hoping to implement a model of two-page spread with all repeated items stored on the master pages.

Suppose you start a new document, as well as 2 pages. They have defaults to 1 on first page of page numbering. If you select the first icon in the page; go to the upper right of the Pages panel menu button and click on "numbering and Section Options" you can change the first page to start numbering at 2. This will cause to become a left page, and the number is 2; and the second page will be a numbered right-hand page 3.

IOW, do not drag the pages for him anchor them.

  • foot of master page does not move

Created a master page.  Then created a home page and several other pages.  The header and footer continues to move on every page even if pins are in place.  Help.

If your master page is configured correctly then nothing on the master page must be editable or mobile when you work on an individual page, regardless of where the guides are. Can you post a few screenshots of what you are experiencing?

  • Footer without the master page and links to multiple anchors

I'm working on the landing page for a website and I wanted to create box that was left at the bottom of the browser window and a hyperlink to the next anchor below.

If you load the page and when you click on the box that need you to the first anchor point, paragraph of the text. If you click it again it scrolls down to the next to the next anchor point, a table, and so on (hope that makes sense).

So the first step to create a rectangle and keep him in the foot, but the page I'm getting has a master page, and because of that I can't solve or even see foot of page guide.

This is my first question: How can I create a footer without going through a master page?

My second question: how to hyperlink to the anchor next below the current position?

(I'm new to both Muse and the forums, so I apologize if this is a simple question, or if it has already been answered.)

As for the second question, there is a work around to get there using the opacity in the effects of scorl Panel. See attachments.

I created a word/link called then. He performed the fallen on the page and linked to a text anchor.

I put in place of the opacity levels in the scroll box based on the position where I wanted to appear/disappear.

I then I duplicated the word/link on another layer (paste in place to ensure that it is in the same position and of course is always pinned), created a new anchor point, linked to this anchor (test2) then set my rate of opacity in the scrollbars appear/disappear when I needed.

So what is happening is the text or graphic link is to appear/disappear when you move to the bottom of the page.

Note the numbers of pixel opacity on two attachments to see the effect.

I put them on different layers so that they are easy to select, because they are above the other

  • Connecting a footer to another page in your master page?

I would like to have one link terms and Conditions, as well as a few others that are all on the foot of the bottom of the Page Master. How do I create and bind it? What I owe to child sites I do creat under each page and link to him some how?

    1. in your master page create the text "terms and Conditions".

    2. place the text in your page footer area.

    3. Select the text and check the box 'Footer' to assign the text as a footer. (located on the top toolbar)

4 Select the text and the link with the terms and Conditions you created the page. (look for the box next to the word "hyperlinks: ' on the toolbar above, select Show will drop and with all the pages that you have created, select the page and the text will be linked to this page.)

  • Header and footer in a sensitive master page

    Hello

Is there a better method to set headers and footers on an existing master page, which has multiplied the breakpoints?

Method 1... If I set the header/footer on a breakpoint, the adjustment is only on this breakpoint, so I have to drag all them breakpoint individually, which can lead to mistakes I've made.

Method 2... remove all headers/feet reset breakpoints, and then add breakpoints.

Also a header/footer value is adjustable from the keyboard instead of drag?

    Thank you very much

    Gary

Drag is the only way to set a value of footer

I begins at conception (phone) most small and work up, but I know others who like to start with top so its up to you... IMO a footer | header with more than two elements each seems cluttered but again its your design.

  • Including a footer in multiple Master Pages

I have a specific question, and I'm not able to find the answer, so I will try to ask in this forum...

I make a model for a presentation in InDesign CC on a Mac and I would like to insert a text box where I can write the specific footer for this presentation and it should automatically appear in all the other MASTER pages.

(So I don't have to do it manually for each of my different master pages)... Do you know if it is possible to do?

Thank you so much in advance!

In InDesign, you can base one master page in other templates. Consider the first master page, the master parent and other masters of child masters.

Make the master parent show only the footer. Then make the children based on this master. To do this, when you are a master of the child, the parent's name in the field based on in the new Master dialog box.

Not sure why this is happening, but I had to go back on all of my pages to see if the icons/widgets have been pinned activating / disabling back and fourth of my master to my pages of subsites. When I select the icon or widget in the master and then switch to the sub page it appears but when I go back to the subpage again the icon or widget is missing. • How can I place a widget on the master page on the front a subpage?

    Hi guys,.

I'm working on a Web site right now, and I have some difficulties with a widget. I use the new Compositions featured Widget to create my menu on my master page.

The problem is when I used this master page on subpages, the target of the widget is always behind the images that I put on the secondary pages. I don't know how to make the target of the widget before the images and step back. I do a right-click with the photos to put on the secondary pages, try to fix it in towards the back, but the target of the widget (which is my menu) is always behind the image. I have attached an image to illustrate my pb on red square. If anyone can help me.

Well I finally just found the solution by using layers and renamed.

Now I can rearrange my work as I want!
