Portege R700 - high pitched noise

I have a high pitched noise of my Portege R700 - 11 p. The noise is in the upper range of the sound signal (perhaps around 15'000 Hz) and is regularly increasing and decreasing at a rate of about 0.5 Hz. He is always there that if the laptop is plugged into the power source and sleep, this is sometimes if the laptop is connected and running and he faints immediately if I plug off the coast. The noise seems to come from the upper left corner of the laptop. It is not very strong, but clearly audible and quite annoying after awhile. Someone knows why this noise and any opportunity to get rid of it?
Thanks, Martin

  • Re: NB305-10F - high-pitched noise of the slot of the headset

    Hey all,.

I recently bought a Toshiba NB305-10F and at first everything seemed fine, but I found now that when I put headphones or external speakers in the headphone slot it emits a high-pitched noise. It is intermittent but is it about 95% of the time. Unfortunately this makes it nearly impossible to listen to any music or audio books through my speakers or headphones! It doesn't seem to be any sound when I use the built-in speakers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I had to send my first model for other reasons and not want to do the same thing again!

    Kind regards

    Rob

    Hello

You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba?

I think that what you can do is update the audio driver and if it doesn't work you should get in touch with an authorized service provider. It seems that something is wrong with the slot of the headset, and it needs to be repaired

A friend also told NB300 but he never noticed such a problem.

  • My Satellite C850 produced high high pitched noise

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite new C850 of Argos and it s great, apart from the fact it seems to put a sharp nose for the right length at a time.
It s no feedback noise microphone / speaker. The sound is causing my ears hurt even now when I ve turned off laptop.
My ears keep humming for days after using the laptop.

Someone at - it solutions or similar probs... Bravo!

In the past I've used several laptops including Toshiba laptops but I ve never noticed anything like that so, for me, it is not easy to understand exactly what is happening.
Can you tell us what could be source of this high-pitched noise? Where did it come from?

Problem is that some options to solve this problem are very limited due to the fact that, probably, some components of material produced this noise.
I assume that your laptop is always guaranteed valid then perhaps you should contact the nearest Toshiba, service provider and ask for help. They can inspect it and fix it.

  • OS sound produce a high-pitched noise (M70-160) + keyboard cursor jumps

    Hello everyone,

I own a satellite M70-160 for about a year. There are two problems:
    (a) 15 days ago all the sounds of the o/s (for example when windows start/end, wheel etc) no longer works properly and began to produce a high-pitched noise. It's extremely annoying. I downloaded the realtek soundmax which only temporarily solves the problem. Now every time I have reinstall, when sound is shut down it works fine, but then again when I restart the computer it is working properly.
In addition this problem disappears and appears periodically and it seems that most of the o/s sound time is malfunctioning.

    (b) when I type fast in keyboard cursor jumps into other lines or bar tasks or made the selection of text etc. as there is a kind of shortcut (this problem is not related to the first as it appeared from the beginning).

I shouldn't forget to mention that I installed almost every new driver (might have missed one or two but it is highly unlikely)

    Thank you very much

    Giorgos

    Hello

    (a) I have the same unit, but so far I didn't notice something like that. If this happens regularly, it makes the not so easy diagnosis. Try to test with different volume levels and also with headphones.
    (b) key combination while typing to disable using FN + F9 touchpad. Maybe you touch touchpad with your hand while typing so fast.

The last option you can try is updated BIOS. If you want to do this please READ the document how to do this.

  • Satellite C660 - 23 M won't turn on and makes a high pitched noise high

    Hi I'm new here

Ive had my laptop for about 2 years and she had a lot of problems - broken screens, dust in the fan, etc.

yesterday I used it as usual when it off completely without warning.
I'm used to is happening because my laptop overheats and turns off like that on a regular basis.

However, when I turned it back on, it makes a high pitched noise that kept getting more high until the laptop turns off again.
I think the noise of the fan.

There was also a slight smell of burning plastic.
My laptop does not turn on and when I plug it in the orange power light does.

PLEASE HELP I HAVE MY ENTIRE ITUNES LIBRARY AND SCHOOL TO WORK THERE

Also last week the hing on one side of the laptop is broken.
The screen still worked and all the wires were still intact

yesterday I used it as usual when it off completely without warning.

To be honest, all the details do not sound very good...
Everything looks like some causes of serious hardware problem laptop cannot be turned on.
I can't say for sure what the problem is here, but probably the motherboard or the CPU is dead.

In any case, your data on the HARD drive should not be affected, and I guess you could get access to your entire iTunes library. You must remove the laptop HARD drive Bay HARD drive and you will have to use an external USB 2.5 "HDD caddy to connect the HARD drive from the laptop to another computer as an external USB HDD.

This will allow you to move forward and back up the data to another job good HARD drive.

  • Satellite L500 - high-pitched noise when the USB port is in use

I have a Satellite L500-1ZP, aged from 1 month. When I connect a usb key or other device in my usb port, the laptop generates a high-pitched noise.
The sound is not strong, strong but enough to irritate me.
When I disconnect a device, the sound disappears.
The sound is also there when I disconnect my laptop to the grid form.

This is a common problem and can it be resolved?

To be honest I don't think that this is a common problem. Is that what you found more threads with the same description of problem?
The same happens when you use the available USB ports?
You can locate where this noise is coming from? Maybe the speakers?

I had this problem and I don't really know what are the causes of the problem (with me anyway), I found this turn of the amp mic off cures the problem, just do a right click on your "speaker" icon, choose recording devices, double-click the microphone tab select levels and turn off the boost, I apologize if this has already been done!

  • Dell XPS 13, making High Pitched Noise (new)

I recently got an XPS 13 replacement because my first one of the problems with the high pitched noise coming from somewhere inside. Technicians and Customer Service failed to point out the culprit, so they replaced the laptop altogether. And now I'm having exactly the same problem on my replacement machine. I see messages from the different forum that this problem was discovered as early as may / June 2012 and it is still there. I guess it could be 'standard', but one notices people not because of the frequency.

For such a premium with a tag pricy on that machine (the model I got: i7, 8 GB of RAM, SSD 256 GB (edition 1080 p btw) was estimated at NOK 10495 with standard options) you expect questions to be nonexistent, if not fixed now.

I LOVE the 13 XPS in all possible aspects. light construction, affect premiums and solid performance. But I'm often in very quiet areas with this machine, and the noise is driving me crazy. (I'm a student)

    What should do?

    Hi Karl Sindre Baath Engelstad,.

I'm sorry about the frustration. I suggest you Flash the BIOS from the following link:

    http://Dell.to/11yLjEC

Note: While flashing BIOS connect the power adapter and make sure the battery has a minimum charge of 15% as this uninterrupted power supply needs. Do not use the system until it reboots and arrives on the desk.

If the problem persists even after flashing the BIOS to the latest version, please send me a private message with the service system number. Click on my name, and then click Start the Conversation to send me a private message.

  • U2713HM high pitch noise

Hi, I just got a U2713HM monitor, and every time open a full page of full-screen text, the monitor makes high hum ground. When I close the full page of the text, the snoring stops. The same problem seems to be documented here, but without any solution...

    http://forums.overclockers.co.UK/showthread.php?t=18455034

Is there a way to fix this? Working with text fullscreen is almost the only reason why I got this monitor, and this makes it very difficult to do. The monitor is connected to a laptop (Macbook) using a minidisplay to display port.

Edit: to run some tests change the louder tone according to the size or the amount of text that is displayed, and the noise occurs regardless of the application used...

I have to return this monitor? This makes it almost impossible to work with her.

My Dell u2713hm Rev 01 made in April seems not to have any high pitch noise. Also the backlight bleed is much much less then what I saw online. Crosshatch light but its so small. If you sit the suggested 3-4 feet away from the monitor you barely notice.

  • HP G62 charger making a high-pitched noise, but heater does not

My laptop charger noise is loud and high-pitched, change of volume at irregular intervals.  This amounts to the issue being reported in a previous post a couple of years [HP G62 charger making a high pitched noise] except that my charger does not heat.  Pressing the case of charger makes a louder noise.

The number of portable computer product is XZ183UA #ABA.  It's a laptop HP G62-457DX.

Should I replace the charger? I am concerned, it could be a fire hazard, or otherwise may fail in a bad way.

If it is a possible risk, I feel that I should say HP somehow official, so they can keep track of it.  The laptop is long out of warranty.  Is there a number to call?

Hello HortonSmithMHK, welcome to the Forums of HP.

It seems the loader performs a sharp noisy, that worry you. I would also, from what you have described.

I do not recommend replace, because there could be potential dangers. Also here is the information for support: Technical Support HP, 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.

  • Portege R700 - high CPU fan noise

    Hello

I own the Canadian version of the Portege R700, called Tecra R700 (PT319C-00E002).
The CPU fan always runs between 43 percent and 51 percent (regardless of the mode of selected frequency), which makes the noisy computer - too noisy to be used comfortably, too noisy to be used at meetings of air-conditioned silent.

The fan seems to be controlled by the BIOS, as well as applications such as SpeedFan are unnecessary. Is there a way to fix this?

    Kind regards.

    Hi dernierrecours,

    > CPU fan always running between 43 percent and 51 percent (regardless of the selected frequency mode)
This means that the fan runs always at the same level regardless cooling method that you can choose in Windows power management?

Well, have you tried updating the BIOS? The latest version is installed?
Check out the Toshiba page for an update.

  • Portege R700 - very loud noise of frying

I have a Portege R700 from November 2010. Since I got the computer, the left speaker has sometimes been a very strong, a little scary noise when it is not cut.
It carries out this time when he plays music (or other sounds), and when it is not supposed to do something. It also makes the sound when the computer starts.

It is becoming more and more common, and now I can't use the computer when the speakers are on at all. Someone told me that it could be linked to the hard drive?
    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

It is certainly hardware related issue but I know if someone here can say with certainty why this happen.

Your laptop is not old and has a valid warranty. Best thing you can do is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider. Explain the situation and they can check it. If something needs to be exchanged this them will be given for free.

  • U2713H emits high-pitched noise with USB cable upstream?

I just got a rev A06 U2713H. When I first turned on I noticed that he made a series of jerky low noises. I guess it's normal because the monitor image seems fine. The real problem I'm having is that after about 30 minutes or more, it begins to emit very annoying high pitched sound I can hear clearly when you're sitting at a normal distance. Change the brightness/contrast has no effect on this noise. Any ideas? It should with this Panel?

Close the loop on this one. It was the associated cable. A fully seated new USB 3 cable upstream completely sorted noise.
