Porting applications to windows mobile 7

Hi, I want to know the porting issues encountered when transfer you applications java blackberry to windows mobile 7 security on every platform.  Please help me.  Thxs

Hello

what you ask is not that simple if you don't say exactly what you want at the port.

My advice is to make a list with your features in the BlackBerry application and use the MSDN forum (Forum MSDN Windows Phone 7) to read everything you can get in the windows phone 7 operating system platform.

One of the reasons why I bought the X 3 elite was the attractive option to use it as a PC. I quickly learned that this meant. Not like a PC Windows 10. but rather A Windows Mobile format on the larger screen. A PC or a desktop experience would be for me means the use of many Windows 10 applications and set third-party apps. Experience in the future with a very strong focus on the experience of office with the elite x 3 y at - it something that I am missing and there will be opportunity for a desktop Windows 10 real updates.

    Hello

Elite x 3 uses the mixture of Microsoft function to view the applications on your screen 'big screen '.  Since this feature is part of Windows Mobile 10, only some applications Windows Mobile 10 will work Continuum.

For more information you can view this document on the Continuum: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US & docId = emr_na-c05170163 & sp4ts.oid = 10722027

However, HP has a solution called workspace that will allow customers to run their standard Windows programs on the elite x 3: hp.com/go/workspace.  It is only available to customers of commerical so it may not work for you.

Personally, I use TeamViewer remote connect to my other laptop when I need to run regular programs.

  • By using Labview 7.1 created EXE in Windows Mobile 6.0

Can I use my edition of the profeesion of 7.1 to create EXE files to run on Windows Mobile 6.0?  I created EXE files and then run directly on touch screen XP embedded without special Touchscreen Mobule.  I was wondering if this is possible under Windows Mobile 6.0?

This does not work for various reasons. First XP Embedded is just XP with more control on which modules to install and what not. Second reason, it also only works on Intel/AMD x 86 processors. So if you create an executable in LabVIEW for Windows, it will run under XP embedded too, provided that you do not access system services that have not been installed on your XP embedded system.

Laptop (or as it was earlier called Windows CE) is built in the same way as the Windows API but is not the same. Applications are only (with many limits) source compatible between laptop and normal Windows, but absolutely not binary compatible. Also all Mobile PC systems running on a RISC CPU as the ARM architecture. For these processors has compiled executable for the x 86 CPU architecture is simply a waste of bytes no meaning whatsoever.

As says altenbach that LabVIEW PDA module to create executable files for Mobile PC systems. But beware, portable PC systems are not at all comparable to desktop systems. The performance of your hardware is magnitudes less, Windows CE (laptop) API is much narrower than on the Windows desktop and PDA module also for this reason has its own limitations. Do not expect a sign before be worn flawlessly to your PDA. There is much less control to choose and also the limited screen real estate is another severe limitation on applications of port Office seamlessly to a PDA.

  • How to get Windows Mobile Device Center to launch a mobile device is connected to the computer?

Does anyone know how get REALLY WMDC to launch (actually not supposed to) - when a mobile device (MC9090) is connected to the system?

(Or maybe suggest a request for REPLACEMENT for WMDC - preferably one who "works" with a little more frequency)?

So far, I tried (many times):

    • Uninstall/reinstall of Windows Mobile Device Center
    • Uninstalling Windows Mobile remote adapter (when checked ENABLE ADVANCE NETWORK FUNCTIONALITY)
    • Uninstall the USB Sync symbol (when ENABLE ADVANCE NETWORK FUNCTIONALITY not verified)
    • Reinstalling WINDOWS 7
    • Using different USB ports
    • Disconnection/connection of device (MC9090)
    • The device and different cradle

I'm running WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE x 64.  At some point, the WMDC auto-lancé when the device has been connected - until a few days ago.  Since that time - nothing!

I lost a couple of weeks on this issue, and this delayed my mobile application development!

Firefox has stopped development for Windows Mobile indefinitely. Thank you to our contributors for their continued support and feedback. The last release for Windows Mobile was 1.1 alpha 1 (download). We have stopped developing for Microsoft's mobile platform because Windows Phone 7 no longer allows developers to build C++ applications like Firefox, and Microsoft's new policies ban open-source software like Firefox from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

  • Problem connecting Bluetooth with Windows Mobile Device Center

    Hello

I have and HTC Snap with WM 6.1 I want to connect to my Satellite P500 running Windows 7 to be able to move the files by using Windows Mobile Device Center.

I know that this device can talk to this laptop via bluetooth, because there are some utilities bluetooth Toshiba that I can use to get a connection.

However, even if the Toshiba utility recognizes my bluetooth device, but WMDC is not. WMDC recognises my device when it is connected with a USB cable.

I don't know about the drvupdate-amd64 download which I think is necessary with WMDC but when I run what it looks like all it does is try to install a device driver for a device that is 'unknown '. I get a message at the end that driver could not be installed.

I have run out of ideas on how to get these things to work. Someone at - it a similar experience?

Could this be a problem of COM port? My Bluetooth device to 40 com affected Toshiba stack I don't see a COM 40 in the WMDC, just a port identified as "Bluetooth" settings

  • V06.10.07.2 (T) Toshiba BT Stack with ActiveSync 4.5 on Windows Mobile 6

    Hello

I've looked everywhere for the v06.10.07.2 (T) of Toshiba BT Stack with ActiveSync 4.5 on the functioning of Windows Mobile 6. I still didn't find any solution.

Everything that I found is a tutorial from this site, how to get a Toshiba pc synchronized with active sync 4.2 on a windows mobile 5! Not really useful:)
As you can see, it differs much, ActiveSync 4.2 to 4.5 and windows mobile 5 or 6

If there is no tutorial recommend if it still runs on a windows mobile device, that would be a thread of reference for all customers with the same problem, since windows mobile 6 is standard (and soon WinMo 7 version 2009).

I m having a htc touch cruise Pocket PC with windows mobile 6 and the new Toshiba Bluetooth stack on my pc (win xp sp2 + sp3) installed > v06.10.07.2 (T) Toshiba BT Stack with active sync 4.5.

    Thank you all in advance!
    DAE

    Installation is pretty easy.

    Laptop:
Set the COM port appropriate in Active Sync that adapts to your COM Server Bluetooth port. It is normally COM7.

    PDA with Windows Mobile 6:
Ensure COM Bluetooth Manager is on.
Configure the port on the laptop with Active Sync:
Start->settings->connections->Bluetooth->devices->add new feature-> select your laptop-> port select "Active Sync"...

  • WIndows Mobile Device Center 6.1 on Satellite P100

I have Outlook 2007 with Vista on my P100-160 and need to sync with my Mio PDA. It worked well with ActivSync and XP - Pro, but now I have problems to install WMDC.

The PDA is installed and visible with the Explorer of files and Media Manager, so it's here. I downloaded the x 86 version of WMDC Installer but nothing seems to happen when I run. I can see WMDC on the Control Panel, but it only shows the communication by default user interface when I click it.

Any advice on how to install this application or this is a problem for others too?

    Hello

I can't provide a lot of information on this tool, because I m not the owner of a Pocket PC.
But I studied a bit and found this site from Microsoft.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=46F72DF1-E46A-4A5F-A791-09F07AAA1914&displaylang=en

The new Windows Mobile Device Center supports devices such as:
    -Windows Mobile 2003
    -Windows Mobile 2003 second edition
    -Windows Mobile 5.0
-Windows Mobile 5.0 with Messaging and Security Feature Pack
    -Windows Mobile 6
    -Windows Embedded CE 6.0

If you want to install the Windows Mobile Device Center on Windows Vista:
    1. connect your device to your PC.
    2. Select run this program from its current location, and then click OK.
    3. follow the instructions on the screen.

Important: Your device must be connected to your PC for Windows Mobile Device Center to run after installation

  • Windows Mobile data transfer limit

I use LV 2011 and 2011 Mobile to transfer data wireless to a pocket to a PC computer. Program receiver to PC errors when a large part of the data need to be transferred to your handheld. Here are the details.

There is a file of inventory on the handheld, 20880 bytes long, which is to be transferred to the computer. When you click on the transfer button, the receiving program on PC gives a time-out error, got only 16380 bytes. This error is repeated, no matter how many time I feed the "ms timeout. I even tried "wait indefinitely", but she has still than 16380 bytes of data out of the 20880.

I moved the transfer program of the handheld to PC, then there is no problem. This makes me think that there is a limit of size of the data, you can transfer using LV Mobile 2011? But 20880 bytes is really that much data, is it? What's not here? Help please.

    MengHuiHanTang,

Because they have been out one mistake regardless of time-out, its possible that the TCP buffer is not large enough. I did some research on this, and it is possible that we try to send a packet larger than the size of the TCP buffer for the device to windows mobile 5.  I don't think it's a coincidence that you're stopping just before 16384 bytes (2 ^ 14 with just enough space on the left of a heading). I think that the TCP window size setting is actually defined in the registry HKLM\Comm\Tcpip\Parms\TcpWindowSize key, according to this article here. You may need to change to adapt to the device of the chance. I think that later OSs have window scaling a bit take care of this for us.

The easier way to maybe solve this problem would be to break up of writing in smaller packages. By writing just twice with half of the information each time should also take care of the issue.

  • Installer for windows mobile 6 device

    Hello

I'm newbe in LabView. I wrote a small program for a windows mobile 6.1 device (psion ikon). I can run the exe on the device.

For the next, I'm looking for a (Installer) installation routine that installs the exe file on the mobile device as a program. Thus the user can find under 'Programs' and it can also remove programs, delete. But on right click on the specifikations build that I can't find 'Install', only 'Source of distribution. " With a source distribution I just get the exe of the application freaked, but I want something like "setup.exe".

    How can I do this?

    Thanks for any help

    Hi Norbert,.

the Toolbox includes no direct support to create an installer, but there are third-party products. Here, I have a link for you:

  • No 2011 Module Mobile supports Windows Mobile 6.5

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/4AF5A9916DA9D83B8625797B0061CD1E

In this article, it lists that Module 2011 Mobile only supports

    • Pocket PC 2003
    • Windows Mobile 5.0 Module
    • Windows Mobile 6.0 Module

and will not be able to create an application that runs on any other OS.

Well, I have a pocket computer that support Windows Mobile 6.5. I deployed a program to it, and the program works very well. So is that mean that the WM 6.5 is supported as well? Or am I just lucky?

6.5 is technically enough probably close, he could run your test seems to indicate that it can. However, NEITHER probably never tested 6.5 and so you'll be yourself here. If it works it's great, if not you will not get a lot of support as the Module of Windows Mobile is now discontinued.

  • try to use Windows Update with Windows Mobile 6.1 gets error code 80072ee7

First of all, I don't know why it is not a category to select Windows Mobile as the "main product" this issue is about.  Microsoft should really put in place the best support for their mobile products.

That being said, here's my problem.  On my AT & T Tilt, which operates under Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, I can very well browse the web, use applications that require the transmission of data, connect to a wireless network in the region and can synchronize with my PC Vista very well... but try to use Windows Update to the operating system is up to date always fails each time with the same error code, no matter what I try to do.

I saw something on the fixing of the same code error on Windows 7, but I don't think that it applies as Mobile 6.1 does not have a "Drivers" folder in the Windows system folder.  Solution Windows 7 involved by changing the "Hosts" file, but I can't seem to find where such a file may be under Mobile 6.1, or if Windows Mobile uses even a Hosts file at all.

Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?  Or am I pretty much just stuck, until I can afford to get one of the new 6.5 ridiculously expensive smartphones?

    Hi wbdes,

Since it is a support forum for Windows Vista and 7 consumption, these BONES are for the laptop computer desk/computer system.  You should try to repost your question in the forum specific to Windows Phone for best results.

  • Windows Mobile Device host process for Windows Services farm...

    Greetings...

I used my iPaq for years with several versions of Windows up to Vista x 64 final, with Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1. But now when I plug it into a USB Port it does not connect. Shortly after plugging in I get the message: "Peocess host for Windows Services stopped working and was closed. If I reboot or try another port, I could see a new driver installation message, but the result is the same.

    I tried:

    1 reset

2 system restore to a time where the iPaq connected

    3. delete the partnership (a new partnership can now be launched because Windows does not connect to the device)

    4. to install the latest Windows Mobile device driver x 64 (6.1 I think)

5 install the latest Windows updates

So, what did you do to my system to stop what was working? Please advise me on how I could fix your Windows error?

    Thank you very much

    Kenneth Spencer

OK chaps... I'm afraid to say that the support system missed me at this opportunity.

However, I am happy to say that I solved the problem after spending several hours on the subject. What have I done? I did a soft reset on the iPaq and hey presto, it connects now.

I was invited to do the soft reset because I noticed that ActiveSync on the iPaq couldn't be started. I tried to verify the boot parameters, but as it would not start, I could not see, and still less set.

So for the MVP: I suggest that next time arises a question about the failure of the connection for an iPaq, or the host process to crash when it is plugged in, you should firsat suggest a soft reset of the iPaq.

    Thank you very much

  • Windows Mobile Device

    Hello world

We test an application that needs to connect to a windows mobile 6.1 for the vdi device.

USB redirection works very well. We need to install Windows mobile Center thing in the vdi.

In devicemanager lk50 Intermec will be recognized as a mobile device.

So far, everything is the same in 'normal' Windows 7 workstation.

On the workstation, I have the ability to navigate storing files on the mobile device and mobile device Center windows show me the connected device.

On the VDI, nothing happens. WMDC doesn't show me a connected Windows Mobile Device, and I don't have the ability to browse the content of storage of mobile device files.

    Anyone any idea?

    Thanks in advance
