• Essbase on domain - a guest to 1 dimension to restrict a prompt on the other?

  Hi all

  On a line of dashboard, I have two dimensions, we'll call products and the region. Each Sun has 3 levels/columns, and I have a dashboard command prompt that contains 3 columns of each dimension.

  If I select a value among the guests produced is it possible to limit guests to the region?

  This field is based on a model of Essbase, so there isn't really much you can do in the deposit so much as I know.

  Any ideas?

  OK I finally did it. I spent this AggExternal issue by returning the original as well as the concatenated column column. Also a little more complicated, I've got the same invite & analyses on a scoreboard twice because it is a tool to compare products/regions.

  Overall, it was a combination of sql logic in a condition Boolean fancy in the analysis criteria, variables, and guests. No idea if what I've done is the best way or not. It might take a bit of effort to describe so I'll have to wait until I get some time. Can post on my blog @ http://www.hypersbase.com/ . If anyone tries to do something similar in the meantime then move a line.

• EN POV! Is that what the Member has be zero?

  I created the EN with 4 dimensions as POV, but when I run the report, the data does not, unless I specify the POV at the zero level. Fact the POV must also be at the zero level, my understanding was if the POV is at the top of the page generation or level the report should give us the number. Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong. Thank you.

  Task - need to know the current version of the firmware of the ILO (HP blades) and version the physical servers of IBM IMM.

  "I got the information through ESXi guest by ' smbiosDump | grep built-in-i"for IBM blades.

  For a server, it is easy to check by the manual connection. We need to check for multiple ESX hosts (also whole army has there own unique password)

  Is it possible, from where we can get this information from VMware CLI power by any script.

  We create 2 files, one for the hostnames of the host and in the other we can keep the password.

• How to check the user POV period and year in the mapping script?

  I want to use information from period and the year in the script map.

  for example: if I load the March data, I use Custom 3 Q1 dimension. So I want to check my active period of user POV in my C3 automatically mapping as in the Import Script, something like this:

  Select the option get Month (dblPerKey)

  Cases 1 to 3

  Result = Q1

  Box of 4 to 6

  Result = Q2

  ......

  The test results with dblPerKey:

  It seems that if I use the Script to Import, then dblPerKey contains the value, but when you use the script to map, then dblPerKey is empty. At least when I tested this script returns 1899 script 'result = Year (dblPerKey).

  Summary:

  In the import script: (dblPerKey) Year returns as a result of user POV selection year

  In the mapping script: Year (dblPerKey) always returns 1899

  Question: Is there a way to check user POV when mapping scripts?

• Several guests of the year charts

  Hi all

  Please recommend the right way to create graphs multiple selection of guests of the year.

  I have analysis on PivotTable with the years on columns indicating the amount of sales. He is quick for years so that the user can select several years to obtain the return of multiple columns.

  Desired output:

  1. graph graphic pie showing sales for many years.

  2. If the user selects several years several pie charts should apear separately.

  Currently whenever the selection is done over several years, pivot columns indicate separately year but graphics is cumulative and according to the desired result, graphic of each fiscal year must be separated.

  How can I achieve this.

  HI - don't know exaxctly what is necessary, but you don't have try using multiple views in the composed layout?

  You can remove the year column in the Section box in one of the Pivot. This will give you a different pie charts for different years.

• Current capacity of the incorrect failover

  We are using VMware vCenter Server ESXi 4.1 4.1. on the summary of Cluster its showing 2 guest of the current capacity of failover.

  We have 3 identical hosts (HP Proliant DL370 G6) all connected to an ISCSI device.

  Can I vMotion between them all very well.

  Does anyone know why 2 are only see room for the current ability to failover instead of 3?

  The ability to failover is the number of hosts remaining after a failure of the host. Your hosts no. 3 of the cluster with a defect leaves 2 hosts that virtual machines can switch.

  This seems a problem of creation of block as indicated by Ringo.

  I would use DATACOPY to copy the data from the current year-> dec to the future-> jan/begbalance. And then I copy data from jan/begbalance for the remaining months of the coming year.

  Something as follows (assuming the dimension that contains the members Retained_Earnings_Total as spare and as dense period);

  DATACOPY & CurrYr-> 'Dec'-> 'Retained_Earnings_Total' to & FutureYr-> "Jan"-> "1000_Retained_Earnings";

  And then copy data from January of the coming year in the last months of the coming year.

  DIFFICULTY (Feb:Dec and any combination of the years to come)
  "Local" = "Local"-> "Jan";
  & RateCurrFcst = & RateCurrFcst-> Jan;

  That you'd be using DATACOPY, block would be created when it is required for fastest way.

• Removal of the Dimensions / cubes using DBMS commands

  I have an implementation of OLAP Oracle 11 g, which includes a number of cubes and their related dimensions.
  
  A modification is necessary for one of the dimensions, and I want to apply this change to all of the associated cubes.
  I would like to do this in a script if possible, rather than using the MN.
  
  First of all, is it possible to apply the size changed to the workspace without deleting the current version and the related cubes? This reveal obviously be the most desirable approach.
  
  If this is not possible, is there an order of DBMS can I use to remove the cubes and the already existing dimension?
  I have xml files to re-create objects, once the existing versions are deleted.

  The various DBMS_CUBE. IMPORT_XML procedures will take a specificaion XML (for example, AWM) and apply to the database. If the XML code declares an object that already exists, then it will be simply updated to match the XML.

  There are a few caveats here.

  A: you must remove all the variables of the XML binding before sending it to DBMS_CUBE warning. IMPORT_XML

  Step 1: Remove the following preamble from the XML, so she's here

  As above, your first file is correct if you use generation referance.
  Your mapping in the rules file should be like this.
  Gen2, Gen3 TOTAL MARKET, MARKET TOTAL
  'SOUTH AMERICA' 'BRAZIL '.
  'SOUTH AMERICA' 'ARGENTINA '.

  For generation Referance always starts on Gen2.
  Gen1 sets the level of the dimension. If the dimension is not there, you must set in the definition of dimension not in Field1.

  I develop a report with the financial report and I want to set a default value for a dimension in the POV for all users. Because when I set a POV on my report it apply only to the user that I use for preparing the report. Other users connect to this report, it sets a default value of values other than the values that I have set myself. I tried to use a form of POV. It applies to the POV, I'm set for all users, but I am able to work with a grid at the same time.

  Hi Rafael

  The ManageUserPov.properties will only fix the POV for one or more users at a specific point in time. As soon as a user opens a report and changes of this POV, then it is lost.

  I know what you're trying to do, but I don't think that there is a way to apply the kind of logic that you hope.

  There is a way of (or certainly used to be a way of) hardcode the POV in the report URL. I am sure that this worked when prior workspace Hyperion financial reports used to have its own web client. It's thinking is the basis of the road that linked the statement of work, that's why I suggested that you look at. You could try to find a way to open the report by substituting the POV by using this hard-coding in the URL or go with my original plan of hard coding a "landing page" type report with your default POV and then use reports related to take the user following a report in which they can change the POV as they wish.

  If you open the outline, it should be missing dimensions and be as says the empty message. The cube has been recently migrated or restored from a backup? It is possible that the .otl file was not in the restoration. I've done this before. You will need to add the dimensions or if you have an old copy of the sketch, copy it to the ' essbaseserver\app\ [app]------[db]' directory. Then try to validate the State of charge.

  I use currently version 6.1.4 in Essbase to add a few members of the contour using a dimension create the rule.
  But, whenever I try to build the dimension using my dimension build rule it give the error.
  
  Network (10054) error: Cannor receive data.
  
  When I press Ok at the prompt, it appears another error.
  
  Network (10054) error: cannot send data.
  
  And when I press Ok again, the line disappears.
  
  Now, when I try to disconnect from the server, it displays a message saying that "the application is not responding.
  
  Well want to, help me to solve this problem.

  There are a lot of reasons, you may receive this message. This means something bad happened and the application stops instead of is wrong. IT really does not give you the root cause of the problem.

  You mention that you're building dimensions. May is the dense dimension? If so, it is possible, you are adding enough members that blow you to the top of the block size and using all of the available memory. I saw the question before (especially if dense and fragmented are not set correctly)

  If it is a BSO cube, you could try opening you outline and selection the MEMU contour hierarchical update. It is based the dimension without saving it in order to see what the impact of the Sun building. If it works there, I bet that when you try to save it is when you have questions. If so, try to check the pattern to see if it shows you the problem
