  When I send a picture of LR4.1RC to CS5.1 (64-bit), CS5 opens in a small window instead of full screen. If I open CS5 directly from the desktop, it opens full screen. I am running Vista. Is this a bug or something with my OS? Thank you.

  I have thought of it. I changed the properties of the shortcut on my desktop to ' Run: Normal ' to ' run: maximized "and it seems to have cured my problem... Never mind!

  I guess it's been here before, but I couldn't find the info I need.

  I have a catalog of LR4 8 giga (about 300000 images).

  just installed the new LR5 and cat opening I tried the LR4 in LR 5.

  He says he needs to be upgraded, but in the middle of the prosses, I got this message:

  "lightroom has encountered problems trying to update the catalog fileand format cannot use this catalogue in this version of LR.

  I saw that there is an option to export all my LR4 Catalog under a new catalog and import it into LR5.

  The old catalog Lr4 is perhaps too large. If you have always installed Lr4, try to divide up to several smaller catalogs by selecting 50 000 photos and make the export as catalog to your desktop. LR5 open and using import from catalog to provide one. If it was a success, delete the catalogs from the desktop.

• problem loading LR4 on Vista 64-bit

  I bought a copy of the LR4, loaded on my desktop (MAC) without problem, but not load a second copy of my laptop under Vista 64-bit.  Any thoughts?

  Will be that the DVD should be fine if it is mounted on the Mac.  You have another computer based on Windows, you can try?  If you can ride on a different disk, you can copy on a USB key.

  for about 5 years, using LR (having the LR3) I wish I had the trial version of the LR4.

  I downloaded Firefox and Safari, but none works.

  After you download it, the message is the following:

  Operation could not be performed.

  (error com.apple.installer.pagecontroller - 1).

  Could not open "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.pkg"

  What could be the problem?

  Hey Joe,

  I get the same error message. This may be due to your OS... said 10.6.8 for minimum mac OS needs. Here, I had a solution, but when I try the upgrade to 10.6.8 it affects other programs I use. I'm sure that others have the same problems. If all goes well, there is a difficulty.

• Problems with LR4 - develop Module - Edit in CS5

  I just upgraded to LR3 4

  When I make the adjustments on a RAW or JPEG file in the develop module and then send it to PS5 for more work, not all settings appear in CS5.

  Example, I have cultivated an image and then made the settings of the local show with the "Brush" tool

  Exported to CS5 using "Photo" "change in" and the image goes to CS, but shows only the adjustment of the harvest.

  When you choose "change in" it will give you a message warning you that the ACR CS5 is not compatible.  You should check 'Render in lightoom' not ' to open anyway'.  If you do not receive the message, it may because you checked that "do not notify" previously, in which case go to edition, preferences, general tab and click "reset all warnings.

  The compatibility problem will be fixed in ACR 6.7 (today in the form of "Release Candidate" pre-release which can be downloaded), but full compatibility, it will ACR7 in Photohsop CS6, when it is released.

  OK, so it seems to be due to LR4.2 release, which uses the GPU to my graphics card (an ATI HD4670 on an Acer laptop) more effectively, the reason is:

  -When I use my computer on classic tasks + > all right, no reset, it's OK

  -When I use the LR4.2 especially when I quickly browse many photos, its temperature rises a lot and the keyboard become very hot

  Since then, I've changed the 'Maximum Performance' GPU performance to "the performance of the battery" (the power is divided by 2), the GPU is less hot, of course, and my computer don't ' restart.

• LR4: Incorrect sort order?

  yesterday, I saw a problem in LR4 I do not exactly understand: when I do an import of video files from my camera to lightroom via the Import of LR, these files are sorted in the wrong way.

  Should be the sort order: Ascending by date (I don't know the exact term I use the German version)

  What's happening: all files imported by other software and brought to LR by "synchronize...". "are OK. The date and time of the files imported directly by LR are also OK. But the files are displayed at the beginning of the page and not, as expected, in other files.

  What I did to solve this problem (not a good way but works for now): I rename all files "YYYY_MM_DD_HH_MM_SS-...". "and sort by file name.

  Is there a solution for this problem?

  Try to 'Change the capture time' without actually modifying the time. Just click on change. Try this with a single file in a first time, I'm not sure it will work.

• LR4 is unable to import image files

  Until yesterday, I had no problem with LR4.  Yesterday he began to send me errors when importing... corrupted files, can not read.  OK... bad card.   The thing is, when I put it on my laptop of active LR3, it works very well.  I converted to DNG, put on the LR4 computer and try to import these new DNG who sits now natively on the hard drive.  Same question.  As a curiosity, I decided to try and load some files that I had deleted the other day but still have the map.  Same question.  in the end, it doesn't matter how, I approach it or what type of file it fails as 'impossible to read' or 'Corrupt file' suggestions.  BTW, I'm on PC if that would be of importance... Please don't tell me to buy a mac.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

  finish by deleting (moving) the preferences file and create a new (automatically).   Problem seems to have resolved itself.   Crossing my fingers.

• Curve tone setting lost after upgrade to LR4

  After the upgrade to LR4, I noticed problems with the tone curve settings.  Then Michael Frye has confirmed that there is a problem.  LR4 value all my medium contrast tone curve settings, basically destroy my settings.  For those of you with thousands of tone curve adjustment, it's a serious problem.  All 14,000 of my photos have been touched by it and supported up to 4 of my backups.  It's a good thing, I have a 5th backup which I use to put my photos to their State before LR4.  I uninstalled LR4 and returned to 3.6 of LR.  This situation should lead certainly Adobe Recalling LR4.  I also believe that Adobe should inform all those who bought LR4 hoping to prevent further problems.

  The data is not lost, just not available.

  I bought a copy of LR6 and recharge.  When I click on the link in helpx.adobe.com it comes up with the message 'Access denied' I don't have permission!  I have the serial number.

  Thank you for your patience.  Perhaps the problem is to do with the Mac, but I had no problem with LR4 LR5 and initially LR6 was OK as well.  The Mac is less than 2 years.  I'll take a screenshot of the message.

  I just went back to the same link where I got the message and the application now seems to be download.  I guess I can leave this thread open until I see what happens?

• Lightroom think I'm print 13 x 19 no matter what I tell him

  I asked this question occasionally over the years but never received an answer that works. Now there may be a solution...

  I have an Epson R2280 printer, which can handle sizes up to 13 x 19 "(Super B)." Sometimes I want to print on smaller leaves, say LETTER. I choose the letter in layout (OS X). I select the Lightroom model "(1) 8 x 10. Rule of Lightroom displays 11 inches on a side, 8 ½ inches on the other. I the size of the image. What comes out of the printer is my sheet of letter with just the top of the left side of the image and a lot of white margin on the left and right of it. The rest of the photo is proportional to the correct size, but it is not in the right place. Imagine a print centered on a 13 x 19 sheet, which has subsequently taken down and cut the right part.

  I had this problem since LR4. I now LR6 and it's still there. I moved from the Mountain Lion snow leopard. (Anything beyond ML messes with my Firewire HDs). I followed the suggestions to create a custom template. No difference. I printed out in PDF format, which no doubt ignores the Epson printer software. I get an image centered in a space of 13 x 19.

  I find myself always export to Photoshop and printing from there, as PS made what I said, but it's a pain. Numbers of Epson the problem must be with Lightroom, because Photoshop works.

  It occurs to me that a Lightroom library file is maybe damaged. But who and how to replace? I have reset the preferences by using the instructions from Adobe. It makes no difference.

  I would really appreciate help.

  The last time I had this problem, I had to change the paper size in the printer driver.  Once the printer and LR decided on the print size that it worked.

• How can I keep resetting preferences?

  I downloaded LR 5.5 test. With the help of Mac 10.9.5.  Whenever I open it, all my 'preferences' are by default and must be time consumingly reset.

  How can I keep LR reset preferences?  It does not matter how to open LR 5.5 (from the icon or the cat), it does the same thing.

  He finally got, I think.  The "Préférences" folder (which contains the file 'com.adobelightroom5.plist'), when checked under info, had checked that box called "locked", I assume that thought even the "authorities" were all read/write, this small checkbox prevents the preferences file prevent the change.   Because the preferences file has been "locked", the "com.adobelightroom5.plist" file was never created when LR 5 closed, and the only file it was 'com.adobelightroom.plist' (no '5' designation).

  What is strange, however, the LR4 preferences file is in the same folder, but I've never had this problem using LR4.

• Deactivation of lightroom when no title deactivation appears under the Help menu

  Hi, problems disabling LR4 (having recently upgraded LR3) no deactivation button in the help the LR4 or LR3 sections. This isn't on my desk is?

  I disabled successfully CS5 using normal procedures. Can anyone help?

  You don't need to turn on/off LR. Just install/uninstall. Is trust based.
