  Hello! I am quite new to Blackberry phones, but have considered buying some time. The storm is the first.

  The phone arrived in the mail today, and in the first place, I was impressed! Until the keyboard crashed. I'm out of the list of Contacts, I just edit via the back button when the phone froze momentarily. When it thawed (lol) it came with an error message that I unfortunately didn't copy down.   Hello, question about the keyboard. I've used for several years, both physical KB (z30) virtual bb10 KB (passport - best physics kb). Something that both got kb was very well the ability to write in several languages at the same time, in the sentence, and the Ko magically would correctly identify what language I was using and could give me any suggestions according to this and more important still, if one has been written in English but then type something in my second or third language , will not auto correct.   Sorry for the late reply, I didn't know you posted a suggestion... I had put everything in settings multilingual, but did not work. However apparently, in android, there's the thing that I found in another forum so let me add here... I followed these instructions step by step and now I have a kb truly multilingual, with automatic detection... some steps I've done it before with no luck but to do all in sequence... If you previously installed the multilanguage, delete it and start from scratch:

  1. install and activate the BlackBerry keyboard
  * Go to the language and entry
  * Go to "default keyboard / current keyboard", press "configure the inputs.
  method' and activate the BlackBerry keyboard
  * Select BlackBerry keyboard as default keyboard

  2 configure the keyboard
  * Under the keyboard and input methods, tap on the BlackBerry keyboard
  * Press on multilingual keyboard
  * Choose your main language (which is in German) and the secondary
  language (IE. US English)
  * Press on save at the top right and click on "activate now".
  * You will now see a dialog language. Disable 'language use of the system '.

  AND NOW COMES THE BIG THING:

  Today, for some reason any my storm stopped letting me see my messages folder, text message or email to landscape view.  I was able to view the landscape for the mails this morning, but not when I'm home from work today.  To make it even more weird, if I'm going to call and say I want to write a text message, this text is displayed in landscape mode.  If this person texts me back well and I hit answer, he returned to portrait view.  Because I can't get the full keyboard in landscape mode, it's really, really boring.

  This looks like one of the many problems that are clarified by a hard reboot ("power off" selection is a soft reboot). With the machine running, remove the back cover and pull the battery. Wait a minute or two and reinsert the battery and replace the cover. Switch on the device and wait patiently through the long long reboot process long (perhaps as long as 10 minutes). See if the problem is cleared up. Like all computing devices, a normal reboot is a healthy thing (and there is a thread in this forum recommends doing this every four days).

When I use the keyboard, the blue "highlight" when selecting what letter I want to type light for a split second, then either disappears as I'm not touching it, or it will show something completely different, the path through the keyboard.   The quick answer is that you can not... apps can reside in the AppMemory space, and the amount of AppMemory in each device is attached during the manufacturing process and can never set.

  The long answer is...

  There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

  Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

  The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

  Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

  On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

  Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

  In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

  My default keyboard used to be the the phone keypad (numbers with the associated letters - is it called Multitap?).  When I put my password I put it with this keyboard layout.  The password was 1236, but I could see that some keys type no numbers and letters.  But it worked so I was not worried about it.

  Well, I've changed the default keyboard to a full keyboard.  Now I don't know my password!  And because the phone is locked I can't move from the keyboard to the rear.

  After watching a screen capture of the keyboard I thought 1236 translated into 1adm.  But this isn't the case.  Can someone translate my password for me?

  I am on 8/10 passwords not backup, so any help would be appreciated.

  The first character is probably a dot/period. Not a 1. I just tried (writing a message) with this keyboard and 1236 fate as .adm (all lowercase).

  For example, factory reset worked. MMS works correctly. I can't test multiple versions of Messenger problem, because I stopped using it, and I now use evolve SMS hub successfully. It integrates perfectly with Hub, looks a lot more professional, and past returns to hub about 3 times faster than Messenger.
