  Well, finally I solved this problem, after trying all the stuff Microsoft said, and to try a few methods I found on the internet, I solved the problem by doing a repair installation with the help of a tutorial I found on the web.

• Problem with the Code/Design view buttons

  OK, I work with DW CS4 v.10.0 Build 4117 on a platform of Win XP Pro SP3.

  When you work with files from my site, they open in Code view.  The Split and design buttons are grayed out.  When I click the page layout button, the check mark is sometimes next to the option Code, but sometimes next to Design (even if the page is clearly displayed only in Code view!).

  To view the file in Design view or split view, click the page setup button, click on the Code, click on the button layout again, click Design or split view and then it will display the page in this way file.

  It's SO frustrating!  Is this a bug in CS4?  (I scanned through the other topics and can't seem to find anything about it.)  I don't remember having this problem with CS3 and have spoken with other DW CS3 users who also say that they have never had this happen.

  What can I do?

  I might have a solution for this one. I had the same problem. It would be 'reliable' whenever I would create a new PHP file.

  "File" > "New" > "PHP" > Layout 'None' > 'Create' - no buttons 'Split' or 'Design' (grey)

  In 'preferences' under 'File Types/errors', there is a section "open in code view".

  I removed the. The extension PHP from here, tried again and it worked!

  Maybe it will work for you.

  I have a fully functional Flash created with MX2004, Action Script 1.0 patch. I am now it work with Flash 8 and compile to ActionScript 2.0.
  
  I have a clip created like this:

  It creates a dynamic Gauge that appears on top loading clip.
  
  When the clip is finished loading, I throw the Gauge:
  
  _root.loadscreen_mc.removeMovieClip ();
  
  It has always worked perfectly fine with ACE 1.0 (not yet, if I change the post parameter). Now, with the 2.0, it fails. The clip doesn't go away, nothing happens, it just stays there.
  
  I noticed the following in the MovieClip help file reference:
  
  The MovieClip.getNextHighestDepth () method used in this example requires Flash Player 7 or later. If your SWF file includes a component of version 2, use the 2 version DepthManager class components rather than the MovieClip.getNextHighestDepth () method.
  
  Now, it is true that I added a ComboBox in this file that it had never before. Maybe that's my problem?

  I'll answer my own question:

  Yes, you need to use the DepthManager, if you use v2 components. It is quite simple, although not very clear documentation on how to pass from one to the other. If you used to do something like:

  someClip.attachMovie ("DynamicLoadScreen", "loadscreen_mc", someClip.getNextHighestDepth ());

  Do it now:

  Import mx.managers.DepthManager; at the beginning of your ACE
  someClip.loadscreen_mc = someClip.createChildAtDepth ("DynamicLoadScreen", DepthManager.kTop);

  Dispose it works the same way as before.

• MAF 2.1 - problems with the code compatible Java 1.5 +.

  I'm currently deploying an application that uses Java 1.5 compatible code. It's (really) very simple code that manipulates strings using "split" and "replaceAll" method. Apparently, I am forced to use only Java 1.4 in my application code, because if I keep the code and change the environment updated compiler, Build Path and environment target for respect for Java 1.7, then the application will not deploy more.

  By default, my Luna SR1 Eclipse use the compiler to Java 1.4 compliance.

  As an attachment, I put the Eclipse configuration that I currently use and the java code that won't compile without updating the compliance to 1.5 +.

  Any help on this?
