• Problem with the annotations of drawing in Acrobat Pro XI

  Hello everyone and thanks for any help that comes out of this.

  I use Acrobat XI for several forms of work.  These are time sheets.  I created these forms of PDF, another that was given to me.  Part of the use of these forms is to add drawing annotations and modify the rates of increase later.  In this case, the rate of increase is simple lines.  In Acrobat 9, it was an easy task.  I could easily enter the increases I inserted and handle them somehow I chose.

  Now in Acrobat XI, once I insert a line, I basically can no longer touch without making a clumsy work-around.  Every once in a great while, I am lucky and am able to do my mouse while one pixel hidden magic and then I can grab the markup and do what I need.

  It just seems much, much more difficult to work with annotations of drawing in the new version.

  I'm doing something wrong?  Is there an option that I don't know?

  Ok. The tool that I'm talking about is under Tools - interactive objects-

  Select the object (a black slider).

  Try to use it to select and move your annotations (although perhaps of other tools)

  also works well, but it's easier with this one).

  I think that the culprit is the symbol @ before java, does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?

  What happens if at the command prompt just type "java-version" of your command prompt?

  If it does not, you must do one of two things.

  1. install Java v1.6 (32-bit only)

  2 Java is not in your PATH. (http://www.java.com/en/download/help/path.xml)

  Upgrade to LR3 tonight and I'm having a problem with the creation of the catalogue. I had 2 choices during the implementation and what I chose created a LR2-2 cat. I thought he was going to update my LR2 cat in a new Cat LR3 (as when I went to v1 to v2), but it didn't happen. I uninstalled and tried again, but is never given this choice to Setup again.

  So, how can I roll my current cat of LR2 in a new LR3 and use that to proceed? I have to do an export and merge?

  This catalogue of LR2 - 2 is a copy of your old catalog, updated to the LR3 format. In other words, it's what you want.

  CTRL + O to open the catalogue and go ahead to use it.

• Problems with the Smart keyboard (iPad 9.7 Pro)

  I recently bought the iPad Pro 9.7 inches, gray space, Wifi, 128 GB. IOS 9.3.1 of the operating system.

  A few questions that I met in my four days of using the iPad with the Smart keyboard:

  NOTE: the following problems persist despite a technical support call which lasted, I did 2 hours and 30 minutes. I had to restore my iPad settings by connecting to iTunes via my PC to reinstall the last iOS.

  (i) switching applications: if I want to pass, say, from safari to adobe, it is quite easy to do with the keyboard. However, there is an intermittent problem when the apps. When I try to open Adobe when I use safari, the screen of the iPad shows apps that are open as soon as I press the command and tab key.

  What is supposed to happen - I choose to open Adobe, Adobe opens.

  What happens to the contrary - Adobe does not open. Another "X" application that is currently running, opens. It is quite frustrating, because there is no pattern to this. If I use once more the keyboard shortcut to open Adobe, another application 'Y' which is running, open it now.

  In this case, I pointed out, often when the App Store is running.

  (II) command key: sometimes, shortly after I use the shortcut keys to turn on screen shortcut area (pop-up shortcut) - apps, this is supposed to happen if and only if you press and hold down the command key.

  This often happens when I switch to Safari.

  (III) keyboard not responding: a problem that I met today for the first time. My keyboard will not just respond. I had to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard for this function.

  (IV) on which the space key: to wake up the iPad, pressing the SPACEBAR is enough. You don't have to press the home button. Yet, sometimes the space key does not respond and you must use the home button.

  v) Quick app - keyboard shortcut crash switch function causes: if I want to switch from app to app 'X' 'Y', but mistakenly switch to 'Z' app, I immediately want to spend to 'Y '. However, I can't do this in quick succession. I have to wait a second or two before I can switch from 'Y' 'Z' app, otherwise the automatic switching app crashes and you have to wait once more for a second or two before moving on.

  My diagnosis:

  (I) it could be a problem with the smart connector on my iPad. A hardware problem. But it does not explain why the automatic switching app appears and passes correctly but eventually open the wrong applications. Also, it does not explain why the problem is intermittent.

  (II) a software problem. However, that would make me a face 5 questions at once. Sort of. I was surprised that, apart from the question of #3 and #4, there was almost no mention of other issues.

  To restart the iPad or to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard. But I don't think that anyone would be willing to do this 4 - 5 times on a daily basis.

  Update:

  So I used my keyboard all day yesterday without opening the App Store. And guess what? It has been working perfectly. All the above problems I mentioned were not available yesterday. I'll use the App Store today and let it run in the background to see how does my iPad.

• Problems with the export of PDF to TIFF (a PDF page export also several images in TIFF format)

  Using Acrobat X professional, I'm trying to convert a PDF to multiple page in multiple TIFF files - that is, each page of the PDF file is converted to a TIFF file (for example, a PDF file with 50 pages would cause 50 TIFF).

  I created a remedy so that I can possibly process batches of PDFs. My action in two stages:

  (1) flatten layers

  (2) export all images as TIFF

  -the files are exported to a folder on a network drive

  -file settings are: Monochrome = CCITT G4 / grayscale = LZW / color = LZW

  -color management: RGB = off / off = CMYK / grayscale = off

  -conversion: color space: determine automatically / resolution: 300 pixels/inch

  -extraction: exclude the lower images: no limit

  My PDF is searchable (OCR has been applied). I checked the file to see if it has all the layers - this isn't. The file was created with InDesign.

  Basically, once the action performed there are several exported for each page - TIFF files and when I open the TIFFs they are parts of each PDF page. For example, if a single PDF page has three images on it then three TIFFs are exported for each image instead of a TIFF that is identical to the single PDF page. Then, when I try to treat a PDF with 50 pages that I'm left with is a folder with 150 TIFF files (and not 50 TIFF files - a TIFF for each page of the PDF).

  Here is an example of how files are renamed due to export:

  • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0001.tif
  • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0002.tif
  • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0003.tif
  • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0004.tif
  • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0005.tif

  I tried to use the action on a PDF file that had not been OCR'ed and I had no such problem. The only thing I can think is that it is the OCR which is the origin of each page of the file PDF to split into multiple images? The majority of the files that I need to convert PDF to TIFF had applied OCR.

  In a Save command, you can use the export to TIFF in the output Format.

• Problems with the tab 'create PDF '.

  I have a client who is trying to create a PDF from Word using the tab "create a pdf file.  The PDF is created, but only the colorful behind her text boxes appear.  It run Win7, Word 2010 and Acrobat Pro XI (with the last update). The same thing using the option "print to PDF".  The word 'Save as pdf' works very well.

  It seems to be a kind of problem of incorrect overlay. You can solve the problem by selecting the command Edit Text & Images in Acrobat XI and right click on the boxes and selecting the command reorganize.

  

  I saw this problem occurs with older .doc files opened in newer versions of Word. One thing you might try is to save the file word to another format such as RTF (first backup) and then resave a .docx before creating the PDF file.

• Problems with the fill-in PDF

  We are working on the creation of a PDF Fill - in for customers. I have the completed form and sent to myself (and accessible by using my laptop, a PC) and was able to grab my answers and send it back, no problem. But when the boss has done the same, he completed on his own computer (Mac) and returned, I am only able to see his answers if I click on the text after the question box.   This is due to your boss on a Mac and using Mac overview form rather than Adobe Reader (or Acrobat).

  Preview will break the forms to fill out every time and it's the number one symptom. You can search the forum if you wish. There has been a lot of discussion on this.

  When I use the command create a link on my Applescript I have a problem with .pdf. Default infact only the elements of graphic inside pdf relinked re-edit the link, but I prefer to recreate a link to the entire page.

  You need to align the path (relative Rotation to). Then on preview and adjust the size, etc..

  Pointing outwards or inwards depends on direction of the route. For open roads, it is no problem to set by clicking one of the endpoints with the pen tool. But the closed paths can be reactivated using scripts or plugins.

  This script can do, I hope that it still works.
