  A native Excel file is NOT a text file.  It is a format of custom file created by Microsoft.  This is why you must use ActiveX to interact with him.

  I use LabView 2010 and want to write a VI that a spreadsheet file (txt) is important in a table and passes then through the lines and seeks expressions.

  "The spreadsheet file read" vi generates unnecessary spaces and empty lines and data apparently contain null characters, so that the expression of 'regular' correspondence vi only returns errors.

  What is a null character and how do I get rid of it and how to import the text properly without extra spaces and empty lines?

  Reading in a file as a string? What about the right to function in the same palette that your function to read the file worksheet that you found?

  And manipulation at the level you need to do here is probably better made to convert the string into a byte array and using table functions. Then convert it back later.

• Does anyone know how to fix a problem of calculation in a pdf file that is a financial spreadsheet?

  Currently I have a financial spreadsheet I had to create for my work.  One of the cells does not calculate correctly.  I need for the cell to use calculation Total - Total balance = balance.  I used abbreviations in the cell itself to the formula so I know this isn't the problem.  The poor figures will calculate in the cell.  I find that I have to delete the wrong number, and then in another cell.  Once I click in another cell that will fill out the right balance.  I would be fine with that, but my boss is not ok with having to perform additional steps.  Can someone help me?

  It sounds like a problem of calculation of field command. Access the form Edit mode - calculation order of field tasks - more - and make sure that the field of the Balance is under the other two fields in the list.

• Problem by querying the Excel XML spreadsheet (namespace)

  I have a file of Excel (2003) recorded as XML spreadsheet that I wish I could query in the database (10 gr 2) using extract/extractvalue. Somehow, the definition of this file namespace is preventing me from reading the values in the file. The excerpt/extractvalue function returns empty values (NULL). Can someone help me with an example how to query individual nodes in this file?

• problems with the Excel spreadsheet

  Windows users are reporting a spreadsheeet Excel document I put on our site is crushed up and down, otherwise, you can see half of the top line and then the next line straddles it and so on. This does not appear on any of my browsers (firefox, safari, explorer 5.2) so I can't really trial and error question. It apparently only shows on the explore Windows browsers.
  
  I put a document the following Excel: in excel doc saved as a web page, a page opened in DW, copied enitre doc and pasted to the new basic html page in DW.

  For a job/hrs. paid should I fill out my information in an excel spreadsheet.

  As soon as I get a number of hours worked in say D2 a triangle of red error appears where there is a formula that is not happy.

  The error says "Argument 1 of the TOUR expects a number, but the cell contains a date." Even if the cell in question has requested an hour in 15:00 format I entered. ???

  The second thing is that the spreadsheet I use was sent to me by a PC person who says I use an older version of the form and that is the problem.   Excel and numbers to deal with date and time values differently. Each method has its own advantages.  The differences may be causing your problem.

  If you work frequently with users of Excel, you can consider using Excel for Mac.  Although numbers can import/export from/to Excel it is not designed to be an Excel "clone".

  Meanwhile, according to the formula that gives your problem and maybe there is a quick fix that works in your case.

• I have problems when you try to use a current OSX on my Mac eco system, causal link - specific needs on the three or four main applications.

  My systems include the MacMini, MB Air, Pro MB [all 2011] on OSX 10.8.5 Mountain Lion, with a MacMini extra [2011] with the help of El Capitan (for the purposes of the trial) as well as an iPadAir2 and an iPhone - both on iOS 9.

  I joined the eco system (from Windows) Mac to Snow Leopard and fortunately this used for all my needs. moving through the Mountain Lion and Lion (quickly), where I is a happy user!

  Failure to make progress in terms OSX is the result of...

  1. my extensive libraries of pictures were worked on - and are still being held in - iPhoto ' 09 (8.1.2) - which met my needs exactly - I have many albums which photos should be sorted manually - that is to say, not by Date, the former/Newest or title!  So, the current Photos app does not work as well for me on for my Scrapbook sort, although apparently it allows the movement only photo by mouse?
  2. I made 'heavy' use of iCal using many individual alert entries (!) of my choice as to the date, time, etc. and not very limited alert options offered by the newer versions (iOS-like) to iCal, where I use the alert custom-making every time! I avoid editing or for alerts in iOS 9 because o f the limited options available.
  3. I am a user passionate worksheet and delayed moving on numbers of Excel. I moved platforms for Cougar and live joyfully on numbers now with stored copies online as well.

  Tempting to work in El Capitan, I am "forced" to spend my worksheets to the most recent numbers app when I come to save and cannot then use the 'improved' version recorded on my systems of Mountain Lion (where I still pure copies!) -similar events occur when you use Pages; the lack of recoil connectivity is a major drawback for me that I apparently must keep OSX Mountain Lion to use my key apps 'base' to meet my needs!

  Are there workarounds 'smart' (or applications) that will overcome all (or part) of these "disadvantages", allowing me to good progress and update on El Capitan OSX (and Sierra at the right time)?

  I have to start using a different calendar system to have the usable alert options (which deviates from the eco system) systems on the scale?

  Should I go back to using Windows Excel (or Online) to my spreadsheet to have facilitated cross-OSX usage?

  On applications of numbers and Pages, there is a real problem if you need backward compatibility - alas, I don't have a solution for you.

  But I do not understand what limits you talk in calendar alerts. I can add events and alerts for them in El Capitan (and now Sierra) using the same methods that I used in previous versions. I can receive messages, sounds or emails in any number and both custom of my choice. Can you serious? Maybe post screenshots of before and after? I'm not available for the comparison of older systems. There are indeed limits if do you the same thing in iOS, but AFAICT not on the mac - and, especially, the alerts personalized on the mac are correctly transferred to the iOS device that I use (an iPhone), to my first mac.

  My spreadsheet numbers was good up to that point.

  After that I added in other new formulas, it happens suddenly.

  I thought that by removing some unused leaves, it could improve, but nothing has changed.

  Even back on my mac has not helped.

  Any suggestions?  My numbers worksheet is 17.8 MB and I'm running a MBA 13 "mid-2013 with a processor 1.7GHZ Intel i7, 8 GB memory and 13 GB of free space on HDD.

  Numbers are not designed to handle large volumes of data or large tables. It is specified the maximum size is 255 columns by 65535 lines, but it will become unusable long before they reach the limit of the lines. Part of the problem is that the numbers automatically recalculates each change to a table, a feature that cannot be disabled.

  I did a little test with one piece of sheet with four tables, each 9 5112 lines columns, as well as a single-column table 10 lines.

  Large tables had the same formula in each cell: = RAND () * 100

  Each cell also had four rules of conditional highlighting that filled a color that depends on the value in the cell in the cell.

  The smallest table had formulas allowing to find the values of minimum, maximum and AVERAGE in four large tables, as well as the SUM of the values in a table and a count of the number of times the minimum value in one of the tables occurred in another tables.

  Calculation was triggered by activating / deactivating a checkbox and took about 24 seconds to complete.

  The size of this worksheet when recording as a file is 7.1 MB.

  For large files, numbers are not the best tool. Try one of the office applications open source (LibreOffice, Apache, OpenOffice), or MS Excel.

  When I select a single cell in Excel and try to drag it does nothing, I thought it was because of the scroll, but it does not help, nobody knows what is the problem?
